We had a thread not long ago about Shohei Ohtani's 50-50 baseball (the ball where a teen caught it and then an adult took it from him)- the ball auction is closed now, with the ball going for $4.3 million dollars. The Dodgers originally offered a few hundred thousand dollars to get the ball back, but the guy wouldn't take their offer. Seems like he came out ahead.

I cannot find the original thread to update it but thought some who read the original thread may want to know the final auction price.

anyways, thank you for the update! I saw one yesterday, and was shocked the ball went that much (it is unsigned, correct?) plus while I would assume the kid would sell it, what if he wanted to keep it and the ball was auctioned off?

Part of me thinks they should just split the proceeds - they both get about 2million and that is more than they ever had before, except if the ball was truly stolen from the kid, I would love to see the guy who ended up with it have it stripped from him!
