Good morning.
I have to run to the store this am. Apart from that it's a quiet day. I slept poorly, but I have coffee. I need to do some knitting for the 2nd half of my knitting class on Saturday. It's quite relaxing to knit and I am looking fwd to finishing a real project.
What are you up to today?
I'm going to to make dinner, but not sure what to make, just yet. I'm thinking about chicken marsala. I'll see what dh wants for dinner.
What's on your menu?
Marina, how do you feel today?
May today bring contentment, healing for those in need and happiness for all.

Good morning!
I'm plugging away at work and hope I have some time later to really get the house in order for DS's visit tomorrow. With being down for the count, I have some cleaning I need to do. I also need to get an oil change at lunchtime.
Tonight, I'm working in my church's pumpkin patch so I'll either eat before I go or my BIL might grill hot dogs for us there. I'm not sure what the plan is yet.
Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks scrapmaven . I'm hoping to leave at 9:25 to arrive right at 10AM, the official start time! All night I was thinking of things I needed to bring and by morning couldn't remember half of them. If it's something critical, DH could always bring it to me. Years ago, a gal forgot her photos! Her husband drove 2 1/2 hours to bring them to her. He was hailed as a hero. Dinner tonight will be pizza and a wonderful salad our hostess makes. Wishing everyone a fabulous Thursday. It's almost the season:

It’s been a quiet day here for me. I had nothing much planned - I had thought of going to a local fair/market, but the weather was cold and cloudy and I didn’t want to get caught in the rain. So I stayed home and have been working on my mystery shawl. It’s looking really good so far - you can see it on the Craft thread if you’re interested! DH messaged me this morning to say he’s coming home on an earlier flight tomorrow , which is nice. I’m going to be spending a large part of the day at the annual English Book Sale - setting up on the morning, then selling in the afternoon.
For dinner tonight I am making curry - not exactly sure what but definitely Indian - with chickpeas, eggplant and cauliflower.

Fall has returned to our neck of the woods and brought some chilly temps. I will need to bundle up for my walk today.
No big plans for the day so I will do a bit of cleaning and then read.
Supper will be beef stirfry.

I’m finally getting my barbacoa going this AM. Will report back tomorrow. Here is the recipe for teddyw or anyone else who might be interested. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/slow-cooker-beef-barbacoa/The rest of the day is up in the air. I may end up being home all day, or out and about. I’m voting for home all day. Marina, hope you're feeling better today.

I am still recovering from feeling sick, so dinner is leftovers from takeout last night. I am nailing dh down today to make some reservations and arrangements for upcoming trips and find a dog boarder for our new zealand trip.
I'll skip the gym til I feel 100%.

Morning ladies!
I had my ultrasound yesterday morning and then got so busy at work I never made it in here to report back. All clear!! Just a swollen inflamed lymph node. Most likely from the vaccine I got a few weeks before my mammo. They do want to recheck in 6 months. Schwooo!!! That was a huge relief yesterday! And thank you all for your supportive words!
Dinner tonight will either be grilled cheese and soup if I’m staying home. But I’m in the mood to go out and celebrate a little, so hopefully I can talk a friend into going out for tacos and margs!

PolarGreen12, woohoo! They've been telling people not to get a mammo w/in a certain timeframe after the COVID vaccine. Now we know why. So glad that you got good news. Though it should take a week of scary thoughts to get there. Harumpf!

Good Morning! I am trying to psych myself up to record a class. I don't mind teaching in person but I am not comfortable being in front of a camera with no audience. So, I am putting that off and doing some mundane work in the office. I got quite a bit accomplished on my PL album yesterday. Hoping the mojo carries over into tonight. I am so jealous of cadoodlebug attending a crop. I miss them so much. If you are so inclined, please keep a local family in your thoughts and/or prayers. They are a farm family and last Friday night the combine caught on fire. Two men were in the combine. The 67 year old father passed due to his injuries this week. He was riding with his son. This is the third field fire in three weeks around me. We will have rechauffe beef tips tonight. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

stormsts, silly as this sounds do you have any of your grandkid's stuffed animals at your house? Set 'em up behind the camera and pretend that they're your students. That might make it easier to teach the lesson. If not, just know that you're teaching people, even if you can't see them. Talk the way you would talk in a class. You can do this. I'll keep that family in my prayers for healing and comfort after such a tragedy.

Though it should take a week of scary thoughts to get there. Harumpf! This wasn't even the Covid vax, it was the adult HPV vax. The ultrasound tech says they can all affect lymphnodes/hormones. Didn't even think of it when getting my mammo. But it's all done now and moving on to enjoy the weekend.

I'm impatiently waiting for my Fitbit to charge so I can leave. No point in walking unless I have the recorded evidence, right? Tearisci, is your DS's DH coming, too, or is this just a mama/son visit? PolarGreen12, what fabulous news! stormsts, what an awful situation for your community. {{{hugs}}} I know I want to make a beef & broccoli stir fry for dinner, but broccolini is on sale at my favorite farmers market store and I don't want to go there until tomorrow so I can get my favorite baguettes fresh for tomorrow's dinner. I want to stop at Trader Joe's today for other things and can easily get the broccoli, but know it is cheaper at the other place. I am frozen in indecision.

Hi friends! Happy Friday eve!
A somewhat calm work day here, which is nice.
I got most of my lab results back... My cholesterol is high (as it tends to be) -- I sent them to my cardiologist as well. Cardiologist says to eat a healthier diet, but isn't wanting to medicate me for it, and I'm waiting to hear back from primary care; CMP results were all normal; there were a few items in the urinalysis that were out of range. I am going to wait to see what primary care says about those as well.
Other than that, just plugging along to get things done for our new work system. It's going to be busier since we're getting a new system, but I am hopeful that it will all come together.

Hi Dinner Family, Tonight I am having dinner with my service club and the menus is always the same. I am having lamb with extra vegetables and a Caesar salad. They do a nice job of it.
Today I have laundry to fold (like a lot) and other stuff around here. Becki I promise to do some quilting. I will do it.

I just got out of the tub ... had some lavender epsom salts in the water ... my sciatic nerve is driving me bonkers so I thought it might help ... ummmm, no. I had sciatic pain with both pregnancies but it went away after the births ... why is it bothering me now that I am 57??? Earlier, I went for gas and washed the Jeep ... it's black and really shows all the dirt so I wash it far more frequently than I washed my dark grey BMW sedan ... No big plans for the rest of the day ... I actually started reading a book when I was subbing on Tuesday! . . So maybe I will read for awhile! Dinner is up in the air ... at the moment I am trying to figure out what to have for lunch!

scrapmaven my cold seems almost gone weirdly. Fully finished my project and mostly cleaned up the supplies. Put some decor on the table. Dh saw me and said you went to all that work to clutter it all up? We would have bare walls and no landscaping if it were up to him. 🙄 Now onto my next project. Deciding between a board & batten wall behind my bed or the tested ceiling area in the living room. Probably the B&B because I won’t need much of dh’s help. Dinner is at one of my mom friend’s house. I am to bring dessert. I was making pumpkin olive oil cake. Opened the flour up a little while ago and it had moths in it. Had to get rid of anything in the pantry that was not in something sealed. That led to mopping which led to mopping all the floors. Ran to the bakery and got every flavor of cupcake they had. Thanks for the recipe lucygHave fun at your crop cadoodlebugMy friends do an annual crop but it’s always my birthday weekend and I always go to nyc then. My 1 friend used to be married to a man who would come & unload all our cars for us. He died of cancer a few years back sadly. It was her 5th dh and he left her all his money so she could travel. Now she is all the time.

leannec, when you asked why your sciatica is acting up at 57 I was gonna tell you it's because you're 57. Believe me when I tell you that all of my over 55 friends are dealing w/some aches and pains. In my 60's, friends are all going to chiropractors and acupuncturists or PT. Of course, I feel badly that you're in pain. I'll take this opportunity to recommend ye old acupuncture. It really does work miracles w/sciatica, too. I hope that you are pain free very quickly. We have a good update from jeremysgirl who is taking the rest of the day off the board to just chill out. Her meeting went better than she could have imagined. She was a rock star(my words). She can fill you in tmw.

Oh, I will drink one that is nothing but fruit blended up ... because fruit is yummy! leannec, when you asked why your sciatica is acting up at 57 I was gonna tell you it's because you're 57. Good morning, friends. Today was the day that I was supposed to leave for CA to visit my sister and we were all going to dress up at the Wizard of Oz for Halloween. She lives in the cutest historic neighborhood; it reminds me of a Hallmark movie. I had to cancel because of my back surgery. I am still a bit bummed about not getting to go. Maybe next October. Dinner tonight is Italian meatballs and a greek salad. I am still slogging through my freezer trying to use up what we have. Thank you tmarschall for the challenge!! PolarGreen12 great news about your scan!!! I have been called back twice and it is unnerving! cadoodlebug Hope you have so much fun at your crop!! leannec what book are you reading?? stormsts keeping your community in my thoughts. That is such a sad story.

leannec. Did I miss an update on the new guy? OK, here's the situation: He's super nice and we have a lot in common but I just don't feel a spark ... I need to break it off with him for that reason and for another that you might find really superficial ... he is a slob ... he refuses to wear anything with long sleeves ... getting him to wear a jacket because it is cold is a victory ... his idea of dressing up is a clean t-shirt and clean ballcap ... I had to make sure that that's what he wore when we went to a comedy show on Sunday night because who knows what he would have shown up in ... he only wears cargo pants and white runners ... no jeans or khakis or anything else ... no other kind of sneaker (Converse, Vans, etc.) and definitely no nicer shoe ... when we went out we were just obviously opposites ... I like to dress up a bit He has made it clear that he is not willing to change. Now here is my problem ... his father is going to pass away any day now and is going into the hospital today or tomorrow and won't last long ... do I break up with him now or wait? I really don't know what to do I could definitely see being friends with him but I don't think he would go for that ... Advice anyone?

leannec thanks for the update. I totally understand. If there isn’t a spark you can’t make a flame! And changing someone only leads to heartache. My advice as far as his dad goes is to explain it to him gently now. Don’t hold off, you definitely don’t want to let his feeling foe you to grow. At this point he isn’t toooo attached. Good luck and I didn’t mean to be nosey, I enjoy living vicariously thru you. 😀

I couldn't stand for more than a few minutes and even sitting hurt. I had to have surgery to remove the part of disc impinging on my nerve but I haven't had pain since then. I know that the dr tried steroids on me before I had the MRI as they will shrink the nerve if it is bulging. I'd go to the ER or if you can get into your doc soon, try them. So sorry for your pain!
