leannec what book are you reading?? I'm about 100 pages into a non-fiction/biography title by the actor Stanley Tucci (whom I love!) called "My Life Through Food" ... it's really great ... well written and even has some recipes! I highly recommend it! I listened to this one. Which he narrated. Excellent!

The fact that Kieth Richards outlived Richard Simmons makes me rethink this whole exercise and healthy eating thing.
I finally got my kitchen back. Everything is white and metal. It only cost $5000. He replaced all the cabinet doors (17) and drawer fronts (9). I think it looks nice, but then I'm a guy.

Thank you scrapmaven and lucyg I'm having less pain today so I'm hoping that means I'm getting better. I was able to walk the pupper and am so glad I taught him the command "slow, slow, slow". I haven't walked him since last week so it was good to get out. lucyg I bookmarked that recipe for another time. leannec I have sciatica and it is a pain. My PT was having me do a lot of core and stretching which has helped. I need to get back on that. Hope you feel better soon. PolarGreen12 I'm so glad for your good news. jeremysgirl glad you had a great meeting. Looking forward to your update tomorrow. don how nice to have your kitchen redone. Tonight is chicken soup for me. I'm not sure what DH will have. But he's great foraging for himself.

Hey all - wow almost friday! I am going to have to try that recipe lucyg - it looks fabulous! I think salmon for dinner tonight. Not sure what veggies are in the fridge, but I'm sure something. We had our last box from our farm CSA yesterday. I guess fall is officially here!

I adore the jellied cranberry sauce in the can!
Dh and I are off work today and tomorrow. Today we ran a bunch of errands and had lunch at Longhorn. Dinner will be a variety of appetizers we have in the freezer.
Saturday, we are going out for Indian food. I have only had Indian food once, well over 30 years ago when they was only one Indian restaurant in our general area. Dh has never and ds has had it at a work potluck. I had him ask his coworkers what the best basic white person Indian food order would be. 😂 We'll be having Vegetable Samosas, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan and Peshwari Naan.

stormsts what a terribly sad tragedy. It must be heartbreaking for the family, and the wider community. I'm impatiently waiting for my Fitbit to charge so I can leave. No point in walking unless I have the recorded evidence, right? I agree! There is absolutely no point in walking, if you don't have a device to record the walk. No point at all! I had sciatic pain with both pregnancies but it went away after the births ... why is it bothering me now that I am 57??? I had terrible sciatica with my first pregnancy, and I was a lot younger, a lot thinner, and a lot fitter! DD's dad had a TENS machine, and I had that thing connected to me all the time! I still get it now, but I just dose up on anti inflammatories. scrapmaven thanks for the small update about jeremysgirl , I am looking forward to hearing all about it! DD and her partner came over for dinner I made Marion's Asian Marry Me Chicken. It's the third time I've made it, and the first time DD has had it. They both loved it, and DD asked for it to be added to the regular rotation.

Well dinner was a strawberry margarita and Dot's garlic parm pretzels with a viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. All my brain could handle tonight.

Sounds like great choices for a first time. I'd also ask at the restaurant if they have any suggestions. Remember, they want you to come back so aren't going to go too spicy or exotic getting him to wear a jacket because it is cold is a victory Okay, this made me LOL. I learned a long time ago my cold is not DH's cold. But seriously, it is great that he knows he isn't interested in changing his fashion/style (or lack of) and you know you want someone with more style. He isn't the guy for you, but might be another one for the friend pile. My advice as far as his dad goes is to explain it to him gently now. Don’t hold off, you definitely don’t want to let his feeling foe you to grow. At this point he isn’t toooo attached. If you know he isn't the one for you, let him know now. It could get tricky if he's looking for more and misconstrues sympathy for that something more.

Well dinner was a strawberry margarita and Dot's garlic parm pretzels with a viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. All my brain could handle tonight. Ok. Ok. Did you discover that Rocky Horror is lame at home? It isn't fun the way it was in the theater. We had a pillow theater that showed it on Friday/Saturday night. If you went in drag you got in for free. We would bring our props and have fun. It's such a bad movie, but w/props and the right attitude it was lots of fun. Hey, high school boredom is real, people!
The Birdhouse Lady, your Halloween w/your sister sounded like good fun. I'm sorry that you missed out this year. Any chance you can plan it for next year? The costume idea sounded so cute.
leannec, I think that you need to tell him. Yes, he's dealing w/his father's illness and passing, but thinking that you'll be there for him afterwards, as a girlfriend will make things 10 times worse for him. He'll feel as though he's being lead on. He does sound adorable. lucyg is right. However, you have to accept a guy as-is, right out of the package. If he isn't going to clean up and that's a deal breaker then end it gently. This is where we learn that the people we care about don't come with a troubleshooting guide. I'm sorry that he's not the one for you.
It's just a jump to the left...It's just a step to the riiiiiight...(This is not political and only some of you might know it.)
