Zee Thanks for the idea to freeze it. We used to make bunches of pancakes for our kids' friends when they had sleepovers. Our empty nest isn't using it up very quickly, especially the Costco size box.

I thought I might have gone too far with the Best Buy 4/2021 Bisquick I used 2 days ago but it was fine š¤£š¤£ maybe it helps that it was in the freezer, to keep it from getting pantry moths. This was my only thought with keeping outdated dry goods. That I would less concerned if I knew I had frozen them for at least awhile when I first purchased them.

I think about that too, but even with two dedicated freezers and two refrigerators, I donāt have enough freezer space to store all of my flour, mixes and other dry goods. At least not long term. DH already complains because I keep my ice cream in his ābeef freezerā lol.

If I have more freezer space than pantry space, they stay longer, and if it's the other way around, then I freeze them a few days and then move them out.

The Peas inspired me to mix up a honey oat muffin mix that was in the cupboard - itās been there since DSO and I merged our 2 houses into one new house over a year ago. I could not find a best before date and the results make me believe it was probably packaged before best before dates came into common practice lol. They didnāt rise at all and had a very bitter taste. Compost bin for them! At least I only had to add water so no loss of extra ingredients.
