So somehow my mom and dad's email wasn't working ie. no mail was coming through to either account. We kept my dad's after he died because some of the bills came to that email etc.
So we were able to reset my mom's password (she forgot what it was) because her recovery phone number was right. Can't get into my dad;s with his correct password because they send a text to the recovery phone number. WELL he never changed it from their landline. SO the help bot sends me back to log in and of course no luck.
Has anyone been helped with their live phone help?? Or any suggestions? I think we have every bill changed to her email but she's afraid she might have forgotten one. She is 87----gets frustrated easily.

My MIL had the same issue with her Amazon account. The recovery number was their landline from their old house, and the recovery email address was from their old service provider that they were no longer able to access. It took me sitting on the phone with Amazon for several hours, and being transferred to people literally across the world in three countries, so get it sorted out. It was a fricking nightmare!
I think you're just going to have to do the same thing. And it will be easier for you to do it instead of your mum, but you will need to have her there with you (assuming you live near her) and have the phone on speaker, or you pretend to be her and have all of the relevant information (passwords, DOB etc).

You call AOL as your mom. Have all info at your finger tips. Does your mom remember the 'secret' code your dad used? That would be very helpful!!

AussieMeg I live right next-door so I can call and pretend to be her. I mean, it makes sense because they just want to make sure that some random Joe isn’t changing things. revirdsuba99 . Probably not but we do have the password and I have his Social Security number not that that means anything. It was just weird how she could get into her email and then 12 hours later she couldn’t without the password so I don’t know what she did. But now I have her password to her account also.

Just make sure you put on your 87yo lady voice! And good luck - I know how frustrating it can be to get things like this sorted out.
