Hi everyone! I hope everybody is having a good morning! I read your update about your dh **GypsyGirl** ... crossing fingers and toes that it all works out the way you want! So I did break it off with "the guy" yesterday afternoon ... we chatted for awhile about his Dad who is in the hospital right now and may not come out and about other things and then I just told him that I like him and I like that we have things in common but he isn't the right person for me ... He took it really well! He knew it was coming ... I told him that I knew it was bad timing but I couldn't string him along any longer ... He appreciated that I told him in person ... So on to new things! I have recently come in contact with a guy I went on one coffee date with a couple of years ago ... nothing came of it but he seems interested now ... we'll see what happens! No plans during the day today ... I did manage to shower and wash my hair (which I hate doing because I have to wait for it to dry) ... oh, and I have some towels in the wash ... woo hoo! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... my three, since I couldn't pick the cats and dogs because I don't have them anymore , are Leggings, Cheese and Jewelry! What are your three picks? Molly and her boyfriend are coming over this evening and I am taking them out for dinner ... I'm the LAST person in the family to meet him! I will let them decide where we go! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good morning! I slept for 8 hours again last night but got up multiple times to go to the bathroom. After my massage I drank a full bottle of water then went to bed so it's no wonder! Today I'll work on my album, walk downtown to shop and, at 4:30, I'll be in my room to watch LSU play Texas A&M. Dinner will be the pot luck. Since we don't have a dog right now, I'll go with chocolate, books and Netflix.

Chocolate, books and dogs for sure!
We went to grandboy #2’s hockey game this morning. He’s 7, just learned to skate last year and is now proving to be a good little hockey player.
DH and I are going to a fish fry tonight with my brother and SIL. It’s an annual thing and very delicious.
So supper will be…fish!

Today didn't go so well for us. We are having cleaner troubles - I know, total first word problem! We had a great cleaner for ages, but he left to help a friend set up his own cleaning services business in another city. He recommended another cleaner to me, a woman he knew well and who had cleaned for us a couple of times when he had been sick previously. Well, it's just not working out. She is not as thorough as he was, which didn't matter so much for the 'once offs' but is beginning to make a difference over time. Also, she is not as reliable. She has called several times at the last minute because she's sick, is having transport issues etc. Now she has started a language course (which I am supportive of) and is also working for a friend's restaurant, so she asked if she could come clean on Saturdays instead of during the week. Today was the first Saturday - she called at 8am (usually starts at 9) to ask if she could come later, and said 10am. She eventually came around 11:30, and left after 2 hours - old cleaner used to do 3 hours. It just doesn't work for us to have her here on the weekend! We have now agreed that she will come on Sundays mornings, while we are at church. I know deep down this means she won't do as good a job as when I am home. DH is done - he wants to get someone new. As she comes every 2 weeks, I suggested that we keep her until I leave for Australia, which is 3 more cleaning days. I feel really awful about letting her go, but it's just not working. I will talk to our original guy on Monday - we still pay her through him - and let him know. Then I'll look for someone else. not sure if we'll go back to our original agency or not. UUUGGGGHHH!
Apart from that, I've done a bit of knitting, there has been football on TV (my team didn't lose, as we don't play until tomorrow!) and Dh has raked all the leaves, so the lawn will look nice until tomorrow! I also started looking at pumpkin carving designs, as I think I'll carve tomorrow.
DH is cooking dinner. He bought a couple of nice Dorade (aka Sea Bream, to save you all having to google!) this morning, so is baking them. There will also be roasted cherry tomatoes and pasta with cream sauce.

I'm totally coffee, chocolate and cats. I'm glad he took it well leannec hopefully you can still be friends. Tonight is the Michigan vs. Michigan State game. So we will probably have some appetizers during the game. I might make some buffalo cauliflower to go with Jeremy's pizza rolls. Haha... I'm having a rough time getting moving today. Jeremy has been sick and he is convinced that by tomorrow I will be fully blown out by his cold and that's why I feel run down today. I'm doing the laundry. I usually do it on Sunday but I figured if I felt worse tomorrow I wouldn't want to. I slept good last night but I still feel today like I want to sleep. I'm just knitting and listening to a podcast.

then I just told him that I like him and I like that we have things in common but he isn't the right person for me ... I'm very proad of you. Also, in my chick flick/lit version of your life, he will get through the grief of losing his father and embark on a self-improvement journey. At every turn, he hears your voice suggesting dressing up and realizes he wants you to see the new him. So who are we going to cast for the TV series? As she comes every 2 weeks, I suggested that we keep her until I leave for Australia, which is 3 more cleaning days. Very wise. As frustrating as it is right now, waiting until you are around to observe and establish your expectations makes good sense. My peeps were all here and have scattered to run errands, so I'm enjoying a peaceful second coffee before hitting my chore list. My meme choices would be coffee, books and dogs (although it was tough letting go of chocolate and cheese). DH and I are going out for dinner. If friends join us, we will go for Thai. If they don't, it will probably be sushi.

Oh that's a tough one leannec ummmmmm dog, cat, coffee. But it's a sad state of affairs when I'm considering that the cat is 18 years old so I'll probably get to add my tacos back soon. I think the ones that I'm sure are compelling to someone else, but you're like huh?!?! are just as funny. Leggings, netflix? I'm not even sure I'd miss them if they disappeared. No clue what's for dinner - I'm off to some Halloween festivities as I KEEP WAITING for people to send me the info I need. Grrr!

I am just back from First Baptist, as it was my volunteer day....we fed almost 30 people, and gave out at least 10 bags for those folks that do not want to eat in. Lots of new faces this week. So many "food insecure" Any way they are fed and the dishes done and the kitchen clean. I really have a great group I work with😊
Yesterday I only ended up roasting and processing one tray of tomatoes, and all that work for a little more than a pint of tomato sauce. I did not find it satisfying at all...I really thought I would have more. That said I still have tomatoes in the freezer and more ripening every day, so I'll do it again!!
Dinner is undecided as DH was supposed to make the reservation so we could use the Birthday GC.... Yeah,...that didn't happen....
Since my Grace died 😢, I'll have to go with coffee, wine and books

Happy Saturday everyone. I made a big late breakfast for dh and I so I will skip making dinner and we can eat leftovers. I usually only cook one meal day (beside making myself lunch which is just a salad or something else I don’t consider cooking). The rest of the day will be some painting projects, scrapbooking, and napping. For the meme I chose dogs and leggings right away. Then I am coffee vs tacos…. In the end I love tacos more I think but it was hard. lol

Hi I have a story that’s cute. My son won a Costco kind of wagon at work in Vancouver one day. I thought about how handy having our own wagon would be. I figured I would use it a lot myself.
The kids moved in with us a year ago and brought the wagon. They asked if we could keep it in our garage. Sure. I have never taken the wagon outside once. I like the idea of a wagon. What do you use a cute wagon for? I thought we could take it to the lake park near us in the summer and we didn’t go once.
We are going out for dinner tonight. It was DS’s birthday on Wednesday.

I'll go with coffee, books and CHOCOLATE.
I woke up this morning determined to eat right, drink less, and exercise more, but that was 4 hours ago, and I was younger then and full of hope.
I hope that when I choke to death on gummies, which is not out of the realm of possibilities, that my epitaph will read “was killed by bears”.

Those are good ideas. I am literally 50’ from the kitchen and park in my garage. I see needing a wagon if you had garbage or groceries. We are just close to the house in the garage. I have books downstairs I could haul to the rec centre one day. I want to use the wagon because it’s cute. I just have no where to use it.

it's a sad state of affairs when I'm considering that the cat is 18 years old so I'll probably get to add my tacos back soon. Okay, that made me laugh a lot! I chose Coffee, Netflix, and Dogs. But only my dog. And Chocolate was a close 4th place. leannec I also dislike having to wash my hair. Ugh, so tedious! I need to wash it every second day, but just after getting it coloured, I can stretch it out to three days. And working from home three out of five days means that I can stretch it out more often. I went to a concert last night, by my all time favourite band, Cold Chisel. It was 41 years ago, almost to the day, that I went to their farewell concert as a 16yo, back in October 1983. That was the greatest night of my life haha! The concert last night was great too. My ears are ringing today! And I have to back it up by going to see a Ska band this afternoon. Dinner was curry puffs from one of the many food vans at the concert venue.

Don't make me choose 3...dogs, books, and...I just can't. It won't be chocolate. I'm one of the weird ones in that I don't crave nor have to have chocolate. And now it gives me major stomach issues so I can easily avoid it.
I haven't had time to read everyone's day but I hope it's going well. I have a DH that woke up sick and hasn't stopped all day. I've made the run for Emetrol, ginger ale, Popsicles, and Sprite. At one point he was making such noise I told him if he was as bad off as he was sounding we needed to go to the hospital. He almost agreed. The emetrol seems to be doing it's job. We are 3 shirt changes in. He's the type that I should be back there holding his hand. Sadly, ashamedly, I am not that wife. When I am sick, I am like an injured animal. Just leave me alone.
So dinner is what I ate at 3:30. Scrambled eggs and buttered noodles. Weird but satisfying.

I gave a dog but not one if my choices. Jewelry , wine & Netflix for me. Came to the lake to check things for winter. Hiked at the river. It’s so low we were able to go to parts that normally are inaccessible. Planted 150 allium and daffodil bulbs Still have more to go. leannec proud of you for telling him. I wish bc2ca’s version comes true for you. Enjoy the dinner meeting Molly’s bf. Made salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies.

We went out for Indian food today. We loved the restaurant, the owner, the staff, and the food! Dh was not raised on well-seasoned food and they only ever got Chinese food as far as "ethnic" food. Since we have been together, I ahave gotten him to try: Mexican food, Thai, Hibachi, Middle Eastern, and now Indian. I feel like Im missing one...
But enough about today, I want to talk about these noodles I made yesterday! There is a woman on Tiktok who is making all of the NY Times top 50 recipes. The one I made yesterday was Gojuchang Buttered Noodles and they were sublime!! Ive been thinking about them most of the day. 😂😂 I served them with...cold rotisserie chicken leg quarters I grabbed at Costco on Thursday. Was it the best pairing? Nope, not at all! Do I normally cook on Fridays? Also, no!
(If you get to Costco early, they sometimes have a package of 8 rotisserie chicken leg quarters for $4.99. Not 4.99/lb. Straight up $4.99 for the package. I take the meat off the bone and freeze the meat in packages. I use it for Buffalo Chicken Dip, Enchiladas, Chicken Pot Pie, etc)

I'm posting late, today. I started a migraine yesterday and it got out of control overnight. So, dh drove me to the doctor in order to get a shot. I came home and after a couple hours I fell asleep all afternoon. I feel better now. What a wasted day. They couldn't do a full treatment, because there's a a saline shortage. That's an odd shortage, but I know it's a thing. Dh is making himself broccoli chicken and we'll watch 2 Sopranos. I can't believe I'm finally watching it and it's an older show, but very good. leannec, you did the best thing by calling it off w/him now. He sounds like a good guy and he took it well. sueg, you need a cleaning person who is reliable. She sounds flighty. Since she's not doing a good job you are justified in firing her and looking for someone much better. Thank you for the knitting advice, yesterday. naby64, I feel for your poor dh. I hope that he is feeling much better tonight and that you don't catch this. Poor guy. bc2ca, thank you for the knitting link. I would have said chocolate years ago, because I used to have a wicked sweet tooth, but now I would say Cats, Coffee, Books. I like Netflix, but I could never give up books.

scrapmaven, thank you but he's not much better. Not even keeping water down. On to our 4th shirt change. I rethought my dinner plan. I opened a jar of Raos, threw in some meatless meat balls and put it in top of a slice of bread.

My meme choices would be coffee, books and dogs (although it was tough letting go of chocolate and cheese). Mine too! Even though I love my shows, my thing is, when we lose power, the main thing I do is read a book (or, I do crossword puzzles with a reading light. Also, I do NOT want a Kindle or anything electronic to read---only good ole' fashioned books. I have about 4 reading lights that are battery-powered (again, in case we lose power, which regularly happens during storms, and it can be hourrrssss ). We have a generator, but don't wanna deal with it that often. Since my Grace died 😢, I'll have to go with coffee, wine and books Aww .....how have you been doing? I still cry often over all the doggies we've lost. What do you use a cute wagon for? Once your doggie gets older, a wagon can be VERY useful! Whenever we take walks with our doggies, we bring a wagon and/ or a stroller for if/when they get tired. We's also carry plenty of water and a bowl. We'd also keep our beverages, other stuff like phone, hoodie in case it got cool, etc. At every turn, he hears your voice suggesting dressing up and realizes he wants you to see the new him. So who are we going to cast for the TV series? Love this! I'd think of a few actors if I knew what type of man leannec is attracted to. I woke up this morning determined to eat right, drink less, and exercise more, but that was 4 hours ago, and I was younger then and full of hope. I hope that when I choke to death on gummies, which is not out of the realm of possibilities, that my epitaph will read “was killed by bears”. don .... you crack me UP !!! I wish I had your sense of humor! And I have to back it up by going to see a Ska band this afternoon. Had to google...ohh, okayy..Jamaican, mon! Do you enjoy Bob Marley? I gave a dog but not one if my choices. Jewelry , wine & Netflix for me. Does your doggie cause lots of trouble? I feel better now. What a wasted day. They couldn't do a full treatment, because there's a a saline shortage. That's an odd shortage, but I know it's a thing. Ugh, sorry you had a migraine, and wish you could have gotten some fluids. Is the pain over yet? karenlou recently mentioned that the elective surgeries at her hospital had been cancelled due to the saline shortage. I realize you probably already know this, but a couple weeks ago, I googled and learned that one of the main (?) saline facilities (Baxter) is near the South Carolina hurricane. BUT--- I'm still curious why---because you'd think we had many, many other places that make saline. I would say Cats, Coffee, Books. I like Netflix, but I could never give up books. Me tooooo! I get sooo lost in books, such a great distraction from pain. A TV show or movie doesn't usually do it for me like a good book does. We started out having a nice day. Beautiful weather, a few of the trees in our yard are a gorgeous gold. On our drive, we saw some BRILLIANT red/purple-ish leaves and lots of gold, but no orange. I'm thrilled to see ANY Fall colors !!!!! We were having fun running errands, then my pain levels were elevated, AND I felt dizzy and feared I might faint. Felt better after the half-hour drive home, drank lots of water, then we get home and a headache started. Good times. But I headed outside and got lost in a book again, enjoyed the beautiful, golden trees, and feel great now! It's 8:15 and I don't know what I want for dinner. Dh just finished the rest of my homeade arroz con pollo (which I thought came out all kinds of wrong, but he loved it), and I might have some frozen pizza and a big salad.

Cheese, chocolate, and books. I’m using a very liberal interpretation of “books,” meaning anything I read. Books, magazines, newspapers, and, importantly, the internet. If coffee also includes tea, then I suppose I’d have to give up cheese or chocolate, but I really couldn’t choose between them. Dinner was a barbacoa taco. (I added more chipotle in adobo sauce, and I think the flavor is better now. Still only used half a can altogether.) I will freeze the rest, I guess. Putting away some for mom and the gentleman friend, too. Last night I just had a tuna sandwich.

And I have to back it up by going to see a Ska band this afternoon. Had to google...ohh, okayy..Jamaican, mon! Do you enjoy Bob Marley? Bob Marley is more reggae than Ska. Ska is music from bands like The Specials, Bad Manners, Madness - well, early Madness ie. One Step Beyond, not later Madness like It Must Be Love. When I think 'ska', I think of British Mods, rather than Jamaican (even though it has its roots there). Check out One Step Beyond by Madness on You Tube - brilliant! And you would most likely know A Message to You Rudy by The Specials. And then for a bit of fun, have a look at the cover of My Girl Lollipop by Bad manners. DSO went to see Bad Manners when they were out here last year, and he got caught in the mosh pit - it was going off!

scrappintoee I can take Dexter out that way when he is an old man. It’s taking up a lot of room but he would look so cute that way. I just wish I needed it for transporting stuff. Like from the car to the house. The walk is so short to inside my dad would laugh at me. I would love one when we go to Gawaii. We could haul our chairs and a cooler to the beach. Maybe I will see if we can take coffee to this nice beach near us and I can pull our chairs and take photos. That would be fun.
