Good morning.
Blech. This Migraine has taken on a life its own, as they usually do. Mine are milder and last a few days. This afternoon I have my voice lesson, but my teacher has migraines, as well and will be very gentle. He's a beautiful tenor and I always enjoy it when he sings first. I'm working on a newish aria and am having a lot of fun w/it.
What is everyone up to today?
teddyw, how are you and your daughters? I hope that you all of your migraines are better.
leannec, how did you sleep last night? I know sleep eludes you, but sciatica on top of it is just cruel. How are you?
**GypsyGirl**, I'm thinking good thoughts that your dh is moved today. Please let us know how it goes.
jeremysgirl, may work be better today. I'm curious to see what your boss is doing.
Dinner is rechauffe broccoli chicken for dh.
What's on your menu?
What's on the agenda for everyone's week?
I will be puttering at home. I've been knitting and I plan to dive into more Cricut tutorials. I might try to meet up w/2 friends at some point.
May this week bring the biggest grins, happiness and fulfillment for all.

scrapmaven I'm so sorry that you are still under the weather with your migraine! DS and I are having a good time together. We're taking my parents to lunch today and then going to get pedicures. I think I might vote today too to get that out of the way. Not sure what dinner will be tonight. We'll play it by ear!

Welcome to the new week!
Today is such a lovely day here sunny and not too cold. This morning I walked to the local party store to get everything I need for Halloween. I am adding a bit to my decorations each year and it’s so much fun. Last year I got my candy there as well - they had large packs of mixed mini bags of Trolli gummies (like Haribo, but scarier shapes and packaging) - but they didn’t have any today. I had to go to the supermarket anyway, so now there are very few multipacks of gummi bears and Trollis left there!
After I came home, I continued to work on my mystery shawl. There is another update from this morning on the Craft thread, when I finished Clue 3.
Dinner tonight is chicken thighs, probably baked with eggplant and cauliflower. I think I am leaning towards Middle Eastern flavours and will serve couscous with it.

Hugs for everyone who is ill or hurting. It is 49° outside and I'll be headed to the pool in about 20 minutes. I may regret it. I need to buy some winter gear for AquaFit. I also have Crazy Rummy this afternoon. Dinner will be the grilled chicken, strawberry, etc. salad I make. I have all the ingredients left over from the crop. This is timeless and reminds me of my childhood.

I just picked up Walker from the doggy spa. He’s so clean, fluffy and smells super good! And he came home wearing a Halloween bandana. The groomer is so good with him and she only charges $45.00. Can’t beat the price.
I need to get the boys off the bus today but I’ll stay only until DS or DDIL get home from work.
Supper will be rechauffe stirfry and spring mix salad.

Happy Monday! It's another 90 degree day here and I'm beginning to lose my patience with Fall! It needs to show up now!!! Headed out to run a couple of errands, then down to the convention center for my first class of Quilt Festival. I'm going to give ruler quilting a try. It's a 3 hr class. Tomorrow I have a full day class and that will be painting a barn quilt! Looking forward to that one as well. No clue what is for dinner. May grab something down there before I head home. **GypsyGirl**, I'm thinking good thoughts that your dh is moved today. Please let us know how it goes. Thank you! He won't be moved until Wednesday most likely. The first choice place is going to the rehab facility tomorrow at 9 am to evaluate him. They have two levels of care and need to see which one is best suited for him. It will be so nice to have him 10 minutes from the house. In fact, it's between here and Central Market!

I am so sad to read of everyone's migraines lately. I have never had one. Sometimes I get a pressure like feeling in the front of my head but it's like a sinus headache, it's a bipolar headache really. It comes on when I am having a rough time. may work be better today. I'm curious to see what your boss is doing. I'm curious to see if anything happens this week. I am hoping somebody moves forward with something and that it happens quickly. I was in another meeting with her this morning and she got her wires crossed twice. My boss looked like he was going to be sick. I am sure he was thinking that I totally noticed and would be making note of that. What's on the agenda for everyone's week? I had one meeting this morning and I have a task I must do this afternoon. Shouldn't take me very long. I'm going to make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for Jeremy. I was so into finishing my quilt yesterday that I didn't get around to making cookies. So, I will make them today for him. Tomorrow I'm off at noon because I have to go have that allergy testing done. Wednesday is Esther's birthday. Sigh. I have taken the day off work as I have the past two years. I just don't know how it will go. Last year, I just spent a few hours looking at scrapbooks and remembering her and then baking her favorite, blueberry muffins. Then I was able to salvage the day and go on about my business. We will see how that goes this year. Tonight I'm making corn and pinto bean flautas.

They look like little fuzzy buffalos right now. I had hoped to get them in before Halloween, our groomer does the cutest photo stations each month. I know they’ll have a fall one next week. But Halloween is more fun. Dinner tonight is. Prosciutto and burrata pizza with pine nuts, roasted grapes and balsamic glaze. Salad with goat cheese and dried cranberries. Feelin boujie.

Happy Monday Dinner friends! scrapmaven Sending good vibes to send your migraine on it's merry little way! jeremysgirl I hope you have some resolve with your co-worker this week and I'll be thinking of you on Esters Birthday. **GypsyGirl** I'm so jealous of your classes. I've done some ruler work and really want to make a barn quilt !! I'll text you Thursday mid morning for our meet up! Speaking of the Quilt Show. I drive to Houston each year with a friend to another friends house in the Houston Suburbs. We go to the Quilt show and then sew the weekend away. We go visit her 3 or 4 times a year. I need to come back early this year due to a family gathering on Sunday, I told my local friend that I would drive separate on Wednesday evening. She calls yesterday to tell me she is going to ride to Houston with me and her husband will come pick her up on Sunday. I'm not sure why I'm upset, but for some reason I feel totally used. She just assumed she could make these plans and inform me of her plans. She said a few weeks ago that she would drive this time, since I've driven the last 4 or 5 times. I need to get over it, but for some reason it's eating at me, this friend is getting very brazen with her selfishness, she caused a LOT of drama at a recent quilt retreat we attended. I'm seriously starting to feel her friendship is hard work. DH has been at the ranch thru the weekend and is heading home today.I'm thawing chicken breast, I'll add a veg and call it dinner. :-) Wishing everyone a great day ahead!

Hi friends! Quick check in from the last full work week before DH and I take our mini-vacation. Today's just work, work, work, as are most days. I am trying (and failing) not to itch the 4 bug bites I have right now. I assume they're mosquito bites, but whatever they are, they're very annoying and itchy. I have no idea why I'm always getting them. >_< Dinner this week is turkey chili and cornbread. Have a great week!

**GypsyGirl** I'm so jealous of your classes. I've done some ruler work and really want to make a barn quilt !! I'll text you Thursday mid morning for our meet up! Several years ago I bought a SewSteady table and the bonus gift was all the stuff to start ruler quilting. I've never sat down and used it because I just didn't get it looking at YouTubes. So I figured I'd give it a go and then if I don't enjoy it I can ditch the stuff with no guilt. The barn quilt just looks like fun and since they provide everything it'll be much easier than doing it at home. If it turns out well I have a spot outside my back door that I plan to hang it. Sorry about your friend. You just never know about people. Try not to let her ruin your weekend tough. Looking forward to our Meetup on Thursday!

Please share a pic after the class!! jeremysgirl Your cookies sound so good. Oatmeal raisin are my favorite but I can get behind oatmeal chocolate chip!! She calls yesterday to tell me she is going to ride to Houston with me and her husband will come pick her up on Sunday. I'm annoyed for you. Please tell me she at least asked what time to be at your house to load her things in your car and leave on your schedule. I often drive when carpooling for retreats/events because I have a few crafty friends that don't like driving, and if truth be told, I would just prefer to drive most of the time. They KNOW the rule is be at my house 30 minutes before departure time or I'm leaving without you. I'm not spending my time chasing around doing pick ups and driving. And I'm not making any unscheduled stops on the way. If you need a Starbucks for the road, get it on the way to my house. Knocking of chores today and still trying to decide on dinner. The plan was for potato leek soup but there are a fair bit of leftovers in the fridge so we could do a fend for yourself night but then if wouldn't be meatless Monday. Think I'll make the soup and do the clean out tomorrow.

I worked last night and after a VERY busy day/evening shifts I was not bored, plenty of clean-up and tasks to get done. From work I went to my Retina MD for mt eye injection....both eyes stable on that front, so I am happy. I am also happy to now be on the six week plan.
Dinner will be sausage (broccoli rabe, garlic and cheese) with sautéed peppers and onions and cole slaw.
I leave Friday for my mission trip to Guatemala, So looking forward to it. This is the same group that went two years ago and they are a FABULOUS group to work with, lots of surgery to get done in a week, and we all worked so well together! Most of us are taking a side trip at the end of the mission to Takal....should be lots of fun

Good afternoon everyone! I had an exhausting weekend with sick DH and today is not looking any better. Neither of us are sleeping well, he just feels awful. Due to not keeping anything down, he has missed 2 days of his RA/PA meds. That has just compounded his aches and pains. I stress ate a fried chicken breast and some macaroni salad at a late lunch so no dinner for me. Handbells tonight. Then another store run to pick up the yogurt I forgot at lunch.
My week is going to be stressful with our newsletter to be done, possibly taking half a day on Thursday to get DH to a dr's appt., then a birthday with one DS, shower for the other DS and his bride-to-be Sunday, then the stress of next week. No migraines for me, but my stress level is maxed out.
I've read everyone's post to here but I don't know if I will be able to get back to respond to them all. Have a fun day, enjoy all the dinners, breath and soak in the sun. If you have sun today.

leannec, how did you sleep last night? I know sleep eludes you, but sciatica on top of it is just cruel. How are you? I didn't have a great sleep last night but it wasn't as bad as I expected because I took meds for pain and inflammation ... I was up super early and managed to pick up a choice job at 4am! So I worked today and it was OK - even though I had to send one student to the office because he thought letting his phone make noises during class was OK ... strict no phone policy is in place in our school board so he's just looking for attention. It’s 3:30 and there is a steak I can eat or I can hunt for something in the garage freezers. I have 4 vegetable species to eat with dinner. I will try to grocery shop tomorrow. I get so panic stricken when I am standing in line at the deli or if they are out of cream cheese. It’s not the end of the world. There is another grocery store beside the kids’ house. You can say give your head a shake. I get so terrified when I have to shop.
It poured torrential rain all night long. (I didn’t hear it) until I got up at 6:00 am. My advice is to not get up then if you don’t have to. It’s not fun.

austnscrapaddict , "NO" is a complete sentence and your friend is not a friend. She's a taker and you don't have to give. If you are annoyed by her selfishness or entitlement then tell her that you cannot take her to the retreat. It's better to drive alone and enjoy your trip then to drive her out of guilt or obligation. I hope that you'll be able to have a fun time no matter what you choose to do. Thanks ladies. I got another shot this am and it dulled things. naby64 is it worth a call to your dh's doctor in order to see if he should be brought in for fluids? Dehydration will only make his other chronic symptoms worse. I hope that your husband feels so much better overnight. karenlou , you're a very special person. Thank you for sharing your nursing gifts to those in need. ntsf , what time does our plane for Hawaii leave? I don't want to be late. Clearly, the entire tribe is invited.

Been a rough couple of days. Making some chicken parmesan for dinner - it's my comfort food! I have trouble when I'm stressed with my tummy acting up - between that and not sleeping, I'm just doing my best to make it through the day. Speaking of migraines, I had my first yesterday. My husband has them a lot, but I had the whole ocular craziness. I honestly thought I was having a stroke. I feel for those of you who have them regularly!

Between my dad and I since I shopped, we have systematically eaten everything in the fridge. Nothing got wasted at all. I am feeling very accomplished about that. Even the leftover vegetables got eaten as a snack. I could always go to the store tonight because it won’t be very busy. I need to get used to going again. I took good care of myself in Japan and all. I always ate well. I just get anxiety over getting groceries. The store I like has several surly employees and I hate going to their aisles and the self-check out can be very busy.

They look like little fuzzy buffalos right now. Aww.....that made me giggle. Haven't seen your fluff balls in a long time, but I remember their sweet faces! cadoodlebug ....Ohhhh, I LOVE your meme!!! So many memories! I wish SO, so badly I had piks of our Halloweens in the 70's! scrapmaven ....I wish we could hear you and your instructor sing the beautiful auria. Kinda amazed you went ahead with your lesson, being on your 2nd (or is it 3rd?) day of a migraine. I'm thankful that even though my headaches can be brutal, they're not migraines. They usually go away after wearing the ice cap, massage, and lots of stretching, Tylenol sinus meds and/or Sudafed, and Kratom. I'm pretty sure they start in my verrrry tight trapezius muscles. And then, to make it MORE fun, they get worse if the weather is changing. PolarGreen12. I have missed reading your descriptions of dinner. Everything sounds so yummy!!! You probably could make a bowl of cereal sound fancy!!! I love it!!! I enjoy PolarGreen12 's dinner descriptions, too. They remind me of the gourmet magazines/ websites I like to peruse, then I THINK I'm going to make the recipes, but never do. naby64 ---I DIED over your fun dinosaur costume, and the elephant one is sooo cute!

My husband has them a lot, but I had the whole ocular craziness. I honestly thought I was having a stroke I'm so sorry---that must have been terrifying! I have sooo much empathy for migraine sufferers! teddyw---speaking of migraines, I hope you and your dd's have ENDED!!! I can't begin to imagine what it'd be like to be pregnant AND have a migraine??? As scrapmaven asked, are there any meds they can take? I was in tears from pain, but determined to make a REAL dinner. Sweet DH helped me chop a LOTTT of fresh veggies, then I taught him how to smash/ moosh / chop fresh garlic because EVERY freaking garlic press I have doesn't work well. Once we got to the second sheet pan of veggies, I couldn't stand the pain any longer, so I pulled out the jar of minced garlic---or, as that recent thread talked about "JARlic" Sauteed the chicken breasts in olive oil, real garlic, and oregano. We love this dish so much, and will have it for 2, 3, sometimes 4 nights and never get tired of it.

Somewhere there is a picture of me in that and my sister was wearing a black cat!! That is some real nostalgia!! I went as Raggedy Ann one year when I was maybe...5? Not sure. I had a large Raggedy Ann doll that you could undress, so I wore her outfit and my mom made me a red yarn wig (I was a very small child, so no costume making necessary, just steal the doll's, haha!). I'd forgotten about that til now.
