I've had the new pfizer Covid booster and very happily had no adverse effects, not even a sore arm. I don't know if I've ever had the pneumonia vax... but I'm def. getting flu and RSV soon. I remember having a terrible migraine that lasted a day and a half after my one and only RSV vax two years ago, when our DGD was a newborn. This year we have another new DGD - feeling extremely blessed! I'm thinking I'll book the RSV separately and maybe get flu and pneumonia simultaneously.... Would love to hear what you do, if you're someone who "believes in" vaccinations. UPDATE: Just tried booking an appointment for RSV vax and learned the following. I don't need one.  The CDC recommends a single dose of the RSV vaccine for most people, and it's not necessary to get the vaccine every year: Adults 75 and older: The CDC recommends the RSV vaccine for all adults in this age group. Adults 60–74: The CDC recommends the RSV vaccine for adults in this age group who are at higher risk of severe RSV, such as those with chronic lung or heart disease, or who live in nursing homes. Pregnant people: The CDC recommends one dose of the RSV vaccine for pregnant people between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. |

I get the flu shot every year.
The RSV is not an annual shot. They say maybe every other year.
Pneumonia shot - For most people, once you complete the series (1-3 shots), you should not have to get it again. Depends on your health though. I was able to get the pneumonia shot before age 65 because of my asthma.
Covid - truthfully, this December will be two years since my last Covid booster. I currently have no plans to get it, and my doctor doesn’t push it. The Covid shots are the only ones that made me feel sick afterwards. I’ve had the two initial shots, plus two boosters.

I’ve had the flu vax every year for ages and covid since it became a thing. I had the pneumococcal vaccine a couple of years ago - 2 shots, I think 6 weeks apart. My doctor, who is very good at reminding me to have flu/covid shots every year hasn’t mentioned that I need to update it, so I’m assuming it’s not an annual one like the others. She’s also not mentioned RSV, so I don’t know if it’s even on the schedule for adults here.

DH and I are both over 60.
We get flu every year. We got pneumonia several years ago. It is supposed to last for 10 years, I think.
We got covid booster this year.
Last year several in this area died with RSV, so we got that.
My recommendation is to space them various shots at least a week apart. There is less reaction then.

I got my flu shot a couple of weeks ago. Waiting on the new Covid vaccine on the advice of my pharmacist since we just had Covid. She said wait 3 months. I got RSV last year and I'm pretty sure it's one and done. Pneumonia vaccine is 65+ unless you have risk factors and should get it earlier. My doctor did tell me I could get it since I had cancer which is a risk factor but I had cancer 15 years ago so I haven't gotten that one yet but I will.
I definitely believe in vaccines.
ETA- I'm 62 (almost 63).

I’m not 60 yet, but get the flu shot each fall and Covid booster when a new one comes out. I think the pneumonia vaccine I’ve been getting is supposed to be good for 5 years.

I get flu and Covid vax every year. I get the pneumonia, rsv, and others as due. I have had the shingles vax, which I think is just 2 doses and done. I don’t want to get sick if there is a way to lower my risk.

I started getting a flu shot 3 years ago and have had that this year. We get a Covid booster each year and that's done too. So far nothing else has been recommended by my doctor. Dh had his first shingles vaccine a few weeks ago with no side effects.

I got my first flu shot in 2013 before I went on my first Mission Trip to Africa. Have continued to get one every year since my Employer made it mandatory. FYI this past march was the first tiME I ever had the flu.
My last covid vaccine was 12/22. I have no intention of getting another...Not mandatory now. DH and I have never had covid!!
Have never had an RSV or shingles vaccines

I was very sick for a few days after each shingles dose, but having watched my mum suffer through a horrible ordeal, I'm glad I did it. |

I have gotten the flu shot every year since I can remember. Already got it for this year.
Last year my doctor suggested the Prevnar 20 for pneumonia even though I had a pneumonia shot 10 years before. Once and done.
Got the Shingrex 2 years ago. It is 2 shots, 3 months apart.
Covid - I have had all up until this year. I have a doctor's appointment next week and am going to ask about it. In the past, they have made me have a headache and low grade temperature for a day, so I am not sure I want to go through that right now.
Never had the RSV shot.

Last flu vax was Jan 2024, so due soon. Need Covid and RSV soon. Had Prevnar 20 vax Aug 2023, that makes all three!

I get flu and covid (at the same time) annually. I've gotten the flu shot every year since 1996. The previous year I had the real, honest to god flu which developed into bronchitis. The whole thing lasted months because I didn't listen to my body. Anyhow, that convinced me to get the vax.
The RSV vax I had several years ago, as I did with the pneumonia vax. I had the whooping cough vax a couple years ago due to an local outbreak and recommendation by our health dept. Shingles vaxes were a couple years before that.
Clearly I believe in the science behind vaccines.

I will take any immunisation offered to me. I had my latest 'flu and covid jabs a couple of weeks ago. I think I've had the pneumonia one but I don't recall there being more than one jab so maybe I haven't. I need to check. I'd never heard of RSV until this thread so I looked it up and apparently it's being offered to over 75 years olds and pregnant ladies from this year, here. I'm too young for it but will have it as soon as it's available and likewise the shingles shot.

I'm 54 and have asthma that only seems to flare up when I'm sick. The doctor has not recommended the RSV shot for me yet. I've had 2 pneumonia shots, get my flu and COVID shots every year and also am up to date on my whooping cough vaccine.

I had the RSV shot when I turned 60. I get flu shots each year. I was told that the RSV shot was a one time deal. I got the Shingles vax a few years ago. That one packed a punch, especially the 2nd round. Not fun. Just an fyi, you can still get the flu after having the flu shot, but it tends to be a lighter case. I've had the flu on two separate occasions after having receieved a flu shot. My Covid shot is coming. I had Covid in early Sept, so I'm waiting out the 3 months, as recommended. 2 grandchildren to love? I'll bet you're an amazing grandmother, flanz. |

We are big believers in vaccines around here, in the spring I had my two shingles shot and this fall Covid in September and flu and RSV a couple of weeks ago .
My Dr has not talked about the pneumonia shot yet but I am sixty I am sure that he will soon.

In the past several months, I have updated all my immunizations (Covid, RSV, shingles) and I'm doing the flu one next week. At 67 and with having battled cancer a few years ago plus having had bronchitis and pneumonia in years past, I want to be as protected as possible. I got the pneumonia shot a couple years ago. I had a mild case of shingles many years ago and my late husband suffered an extremely painful bout of shingles a couple years before he died. I don't want want a recurrence of it.

I got the RSV and pneumonia shot for those over 65 last year right after my 65th birthday. I am updated on whooping cough because there are new babies in our family. It’s also part of the tetanus shot.
Last Saturday I got the flu and Covid shot in the same arm and had no problem what so whatever. I got the shingles shot in 2021 the series of two and if I had a reaction, I don’t remember so could’ve been that bad. It’s better than getting shingles.

RSV has not been suggested.
Prevnar 13 in 2018, Prevnar 23 in 2024- no side effects, not even a sore arm.
Pfizer Covid shots and 2 boosters- all made me sick for days so I will not get anymore. I’ve had Covid twice. The first time (and right after boosters) I was super sick for 3 days with body aches and a 103 fever- the second time I was sick with Covid, I felt just like when I got the boosters. No thanks!
Flu vaccines- nope. I compromised with my GP and got the pneumonia one.
Shingles- got both as soon as I was eligible starting in June 2024- don’t want to play games with that one! Zero side effects- not even a sore arm!
Up to date on tDAP and whooping cough.
Hep A and B and measles and mumps have been given many years ago.
I had chicken pox as a kid.
What else?

I'm only 53 but severely immunocompromised. I've gotten the flu shot every year since HS. I got pneumonia and shingles last year. My doc wanted me to get the RSV shot but it was in short supply and I'm too young.
I can't get the COVID shots as I'm allergic (I was one of the lucky ones who got the myocarditis side effect, so no MRNA vaccines for me going forward).

Since my post-retirement, non-Medicare insurance sucks...the answer is no. I did get Covid and flu; but the others, even with GoodRX, as VERY expensive and since I am not 'high risk' except for my age (60), I decided not to.

I felt a little off for a day after the first shingles vaccine, but fine after the second. I think I just had a headache and sore arm. It's way better than dealing with shingles. To answer the original question, I am 66. I get the flu and covid booster annually. I got my first pneumonia shot at my wellness check 2 weeks ago. I am still thinking about the RSV shot. I did note they upped the age recommendation, but I had RSV 2 winters ago and it is the sickest I have ever been. |
