Such intelligent and clever birds! We have loads of rookeries and the rooks often line up along the fence. I would have no hesitation to bribe them with food or trinkets if they took against me but as they help themselves to what's on the bird feeder, I'm not expecting any trouble.

I’ve been leaving food out for the crows and they are fascinating to watch. One guy picks peanuts and lines them up next to each other on the ground then chooses one to fly off with. Presumably he’s picking the biggest but I’m not really sure what his criteria is!

I’ve always been fascinated by crows and heard that if you feed them, you might be lucky enough to have them bring you presents of shiny things. I joined a Facebook group and everything, but then realized I can’t really do it because of our bear population. I didn’t know they are such grudge holders, but do admire their intelligence.

We have a large crow population in our neighborhood. A month or so ago I was in my backyard, and a giant group of them had gathered in a tree on the next block and about three or four houses down, it was not the first time, and it was so loud. I guess they were having a rally of some kind.

Very, very interesting. We just put up a birdfeeder and are shocked at the aggressive behavior of the crows. Tfs!

I haven’t read the article, but I can tell you that where I live now the crows are the alarm system. They squawk a lot if there is a fox in the area. They squawk a lot of the hawk is here too. We look up to see where the crows are at and know that we will be encountering some type of wildlife.

They will take over the world!
We had crows who were shoulder to shoulder on the phone and cable wires. Then West Nile Virus came through and the crows were gone. After 6 years, last year we had a few and this year a few more. Nothing like we had before, though..

Crows are awesome. We have a group of them that claim territory near the back of our subdivision. They very loudly protest that a young hawk also hunts there. They constantly harass it as it tries to hunt in the morning while we take our walk. One morning we saw them playing with an object in the road. It was one of the hawk's feathers. They would pick it up, fly up, drop it, and then another would swoop in and try to catch it before it hit the ground. And all the while they're cawing and making a ruckus like they're taunting the hawk or celebrating with their trophy. The hawk was in a nearby tree watching the whole thing. They're fascinating birds.

Crows are fascinating and have so much attitude. I like them so much my laundry room is decorated with crows.
