Tearisci I remember you posting about your son's misphonia before. I probably said at the time that I can empathise with him to a certain degree, because I have it too. I wish that I didn't, because it sucks. Why can't I just ignore and be oblivious to the chewing and crunching and swallowing and sniffing noises like other people? I look around and wonder how tf other people aren't bothered by the guy at work who sniffs All. Fucking. Day!! I'm not bothered by breathing noises though, so I'm not quite as bad as your son. I'm sorry that it's causing issues when he visits. I am annoyed at your son though, about him not thinking your house was clean enough. How rude! And offering to pay for a cleaner? That's just insulting. Does he have a particular diagnosis (OCD or similar) that could explain the cleanliness thing and the misphonia? AussieMeg Thank you so much for your words. I truly believe that he has undiagnosed OCD. My house is not dirty. I forgot to change out his hand towel in his bathroom and he about lost it. I think he has always had a bit of OCD if I look back at certain things and most of all, I just want him to be happy. I think I'm going to suggest that he look into it when I'm back there at Thanksgiving.

your street looks amazing, all lit up like that! What does it look like a Christmas? Oh, it's even crazier at Christmas! I think all the men on our block treat it like a contest. Both Halloween and Christmas! For Halloween we just have assorted pumpkins and a wreath but no lights. Christmas is the whole shebang.

Big hugs jeremysgirl. I’m glad you spent the day how you wanted. I started my 5 days of watching Luke. He told dh that daycare is closed tomorrow- it’s not We had Parmesan crusted chicken with green beans & potatoes. I also prepped lucyg’s barbacoa beef for tomorrow night. Carved 6 of my pumpkins. Left 1 to use for thanksgiving hopefully. It’s going to be terrible weather tomorrow for trick or treat unfortunately Tearisci that sounds awful for you & your son. Definitely consider a hotel. Plus sometimes you just need some alone time. My dd will not sleep on anyone else’s sheets. She brings her own everywhere including here. She has OCD and it’s one of her things I don’t take it personal.

jeremysgirl, you did the best you could to make a truly difficult day bearable. I think that you handled it beautifully. There isn't a manual for grief and you're doing the best you can. May you find more healing as time goes on. (((HUGS))) my friend. The Birdhouse Lady, perhaps tmw you can let us know how the doctor's appt. went for you?

Instead he stopped off at a bakery and picked up a selection of pies - scallop, chicken satay, beef & mac cheese, beef & bacon. Oh, I miss a decent pie! I do make them myself, but it's not the same as just popping into the bakery to get one. There is a company here i Germany that I want to try. They are called 'Flying Pie Me' and were set up by a couple of Aussie expats. They make and freeze proper Australian pies and send them all over Germany. I'm going to try them once I have enough freezer space.

Love the Halloween street view - hope you will post similar for Christmas. I have noticed more people are decorating at Halloween now but nothing like your post!
