OMG I am watching The View and there was an ad for some presidential candidate (Terry, I think) I have never heard of. It talked about lynching and how Kamala is killing black babies. Then they show several dead babies that look like maybe they were aborted or something? There was a disclaimer before and after saying that ABC had to play the ad by law. Have you seen this? How does this person think this is the best way to get their name out there?

it is a horrible ad.. but it may be under speech access for election times law of some sort.
why it would appeal to anyone is mysterious

I saw the same one last night. I was horrified. I bet the networks are getting a lot of heat for airing those, even though they're required to.

We had a Democratic state rep here named Shawn Thierry who got primaried and lost her primary due to her stances on trans rights, abortion, and public education. Her campaign ads frequently called both abortion and gender reassignment "black genocide." So I think that rhetoric is starting to make the rounds.
Our district is heavily Democratic and her primary challenger will certainly win in the general. Ms. Thierry has since joined a right-wing anti-trans lobbying group. Oh also, her main donors during the primary race were Republican PACs. I can't figure out why she ever called herself a Democrat.

I posted about this awhile ago. They're gross. I guess they show the disclaimer before and after to protect themselves. But if they are required to post objectional ads with a disclaimer why are other stations not required to post other ads they think are objectional?

I've seen it, it's awful. The 2nd time I saw it, I knew to change channels for a minute so I didn't have to watch.

Now that I know what is coming after the disclaimer I will know what to expect. I read an article saying that they have gotten complaints but that is probably why the disclaimer is there. The article named a few shows that have it and The View is one of them, but I don't watch it often.
@merge that is crazy. It definitely doesn't sound like that person is a true Democrat. I think this ad did specifically use the words "black genocide" as well but am not sure. It was weird.

Yeah, our douche canoe of a senate candidate is again claiming a teen homeless shelter is giving kids sex changes. Not the first time and the folks there were already under attack from the MAGA idiots. Scary stuff.

There are a couple of different ads by this Terry person. All are very offensive and disgusting. I see them after The View and just before the 6:00pm local news.

BTW: Randall Terry is one of seven third party presidential candidates on the NJ ballot.

I've been seeing these during world news 6:30-7, and I filed a complaint with the FCC. The response is that they cannot censor political ads. I did not want them to do that, I want them to be shown after 10pm or after when children may see. My teenage nephew saw it and was disturbed and upset by it. I still do not like their response. I remember as a kid, certain things could not be shown/said on tv before 10pm.
