Anyone who is interested in the directions please send me your email address via messages here. I’ll be working on scanning them tonight. Also I spoke with Jen Kingwell’s DH at Festival about this quilt so will post more info tonight jeremysgirl - after reading the instructions and talking to him you can definitely do this quilt!

Thank you! You should join us. Seriously. You've got such great skills. I was just getting ready to tell you that I would but I need instructions and then lo and behold gypsy girl is offering them! Yay!!! I, like you, can't even begin to think about starting on this until January.

My order arrived today and I think I'm all set. But of course this also depends on how things are when it begins going together. I got the center of the quilt sketched out on graph paper. So at least I have a jumping off point. I also bought some colored pencils so I can begin to fill in the sections and look at the color distribution. I'm a big nerd, I know. This is the part of the brain that handles math. 😂

If you like doing a sketch when planning quilts, check out the patterns by Kitchen Table Quilting. All of her patterns include a coloring page to print out so you can work out your ideas beforehand. I've made her Tessa quilt a couple of times and she has good instructions/illustrations. Her Judy quilt is in my queue as well.

I literally make one or two fabric decisions at a time when doing an improv quilt but can see how the coloring page could be a great tool!

flanz sent me a pic of her quilt so far. I'm sharing it here. Thank you, Becki! As you can see I don't trim my blocks as I go but I will do that before adding the next log, which goes on the right side. I will measure the top bottom and middle of the square (almost square) center of the quilt to see if it is actually square. Fingers crossed. If it isn't, I will need to try to make adjustments when sewing on the next logs. (I'll have to google how to do it.)

I really love that center fabric flanz. It was perfect for a project like this and lends itself to a nice color scheme. I have the week off and tons of crafty plans. I'm going to be getting out my supplies this week and hope to get started.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your quilt in progress, Becki!!! What a gorgeous start. I love your focal point and love that it's a special memento from a special experience, and I love the fabrics you've chosen to complement it. xoxo

The t-shirt itself the guitar was centered so that's how I cut it. I guess it's too late now to make any changes but something about it just doesn't sit right with me.

I love the center just the way it is! Honestly. Truly, don't over analyze. I predict you will love your quilt.
I love your color sense and the fabrics you've chosen for this central portion of your quilt, as well as how you've placed different fabrics.
It's 3:50. We have a party next door at 5 and I am about to hop in the shower. We'll be home and in our pjs by 9, I'm guessing.
Happy New Year to all who are reading this!

I love everything about this! I hope you do it next year because I need to figure out the next steps with my projects.
Quilts For Kids is a great cause and they send me a reminder that I owe them 2 quilts. My fault 100% so January is sewing month - the two I owe to Q4K, two extra for their cause and a rag quilt for a friend.
Craftfy things are my therapy but I need to catch up on all the things I’ve dropped. But 2026 - goals. 😎

Loving the progress shown and will enjoy seeing the quilts grow.
As fun as this looks I'm going to have to sit this one out. I already have some projects lined up that are calling to me, I really need to knuckle down to them. Happy quilting everyone.

jeremysgirl - I love how your center block came out. Don't touch the guitar - it's perfect as is. I still haven't pulled my fabrics so will be working on that this week. Pretty sure I will be bringing up the rear on this project but I will get it done!

**GypsyGirl** don't rush yourself and I'm doubtful you will be bringing up the rear. I'm liking this project so much that it's a darn good possibility I may do another when finished. I really love the randomness of it. And hey? Yesterday I learned flying geese to make those diamond blocks. I was thrilled with myself.

I love this project. The randomness of the shapes speaks to me. I have never done any kind of quilting (and not about to start), but I will be cheering you all on from the sidelines! I look forward to seeing how each of you interpret and move through the project. Thank you for sharing!

The three of you are such artists w/your quilts. Sadly, I can't do quilting, because I cannot sew. At the beginning of the pandemic I donated my sewing machine to a group that was making masks. I've had lessons, my mother was quite the seamstress, but I just could never catch on. So, I applaud you and can't wait to see the finished product.

I made through part two. I wanted to show a close up of my flying geese. I wanted you to see that I used a star fabric for half and music note fabric for the other half. Plus I'm just really proud I did that well with them.

Is that star fabric from Ruby Star Society? I’ve done a couple of quilts with it and I love it more each and every time.
Your flying geese look fantastic. Great points!

I have no idea about the fabric. Honestly I bought so many different fabrics from so many different lines I couldn't tell you who it came from. But honestly it was one of my very favorite fabrics too. I can imagine so many quilts using it. You'll have to show me what you've done with it.

This is the complete collection, but it’s been so popular I believe they’ve printed and sold it at least a couple of times. I don’t have any photos of the finished quilts, as I finished piecing but haven’t had them quilted yet. 😂

That does look very much like the fabric. And now that I see the whole line I think I should get some other colors. It's so pretty and very versatile fabric too. When you are done with your quilts Gennifer I'd love to see them.
