My niece posted this. It is said better than anything I could compose, but I wanted to share it.
She wrote:
I voted for Democracy.
I voted for decency.
I voted for women’s autonomy.
I voted for humane immigration.
I voted for the protection of the nontrad-gender vulnerable.
I voted for the victims of future gun violence.
I voted for the working poor.
I voted for the survival of Ukraine.
I voted for our planet’s declining climate.
I voted for public education and free libraries.

I love it!
My DD (who is 15) said her friend group talked about how frustrated they are that they can't vote in this election and are hoping that Harris wins so there is an election they can vote in next time.

Your niece put it perfectly. I voted for all of those things as well. I have always used my vote to protect the most vulnerable people and I always will.

I voted for all those reasons. I'll add:
I voted for a return to civility.
I voted for unity. Even if we don't all agree, we're all Americans.
I voted because women will finally be seen as good enough to be president.
