Happy Halloween.
I have an appt. w/my neurologist today. Time to get to the bottom of this and figure out how to stop it in it's tracks next time. This headache is better, but won't go away completely. I've been dealing w/another issue at the same time. My medical device isn't working. So, btwn the two things I've been a bit down for the count.
What is everyone up to today?
Dinner will be rechauffe. Dh has broccoli chicken and chicken marsala in the fridge.
What's on your menu?
jeremysgirl, how are you doing today? I'm thinking of you, my friend.
For those of you who are handing out candy what did you buy? I'm scrooge and my lights will be off.
May today bring lots of treats for all!

scrapmaven , I hope you get answers today and get everything sorted out. We actually had rain last night! Not sure how much but any is welcomed. I'm making Tomatillo Pork for dinner. These photos are from a house up the street. It looks creepier at night but you get the idea. The garage is especially creepy and as is the woman in the swing.

I am about to get dinner ready, then get dressed up and wait for all the trick or treaters.
I’ve done two runs (OK, walks) to the supermarket today. Went early, as I knew it would be chaos with tomorrow being a holiday, then set up my Halloween decorations only to find I had no AA batteries for my pumpkin lights, so back I went. It is getting overcast and a bit misty, so the atmosphere should be just right by the time it gets dark.
Dinner tonight is white bean and sweet potato shakshuka, one of our favourites and easy to make ahead and just add the eggs to bake at the end.

Happy Thursday! Just finished breakfast and now I’m off to photograph quilts and shop some more. Dinner will be at one of the restaurants here. scrapmaven - we found a very nice place that will take him. Just waiting on the insurance approval which is in the works. Not sure if that will come through today or tomorrow. It’s been a relief for sure.

scrapmaven I hope you're able to get some answers and figure everything out! cadoodlebug That garage is creepy... and this comes from someone who falls asleep to Forensic Files like it's nothing. We won't give out candy. Our complex prints out paper you're supposed to tape to your door if you're giving out candy. Bessie is plotting my demise, anyway. On the plus side, we get out of work 2 hours early, so I'll tackle some laundry and clean up a little around the apartment.

Happy Halloween! I love Halloween. When the kids were small, we would always do group costumes. I still do a small bit of decorating but sadly, our neighborhood has gone mostly retired and elderly so there are no trick or treaters. I will have the little dead mum plant lit up with string lights and my Harry Potter lights on but I doubt we will have any ToTers. I do have a bag of candy here at the office and will take it home just in case. scrapmaven I hope your appt turns out the way you want it to. It is time for some answers. cadoodlebug, I wish we had more scary places around here to go see. I would treat them as a Christmas light tour but look for the spooky ones. Or just decorated and lit up. There is a house behind ODS's home. They have ALL the blow-ups in their yard. It just makes me smile when I drive past it. sueg that shakshuka sounds wonderful!! I might need you to share that recipe! Enjoy your ToTers. ntsf I LOVE chicken spaghetti but no one else in the family does. I only get it at potlucks or funeral lunches that we do for families here at church. It is my favorite day of the year. Sonic has 50 cent corn dogs today. It is a long standing tradition, that is what we have for Halloween dinner. Don't judge me. Oh and we have finally gotten rain this morning. Horrible hard rain. DH had to drive through it to a doctor's appt. He said it was the hardest of 2 or 3 times that he has been driving. Hopefully some answers today with his issues he's been having.

ntsf , the beanie babies will go quickly. Everyone will think your house is the best ever. **GypsyGirl**, I'm so glad that you found a good place. Is it close to home? sueg , what sort of candy do you hand out in Germany? Do they have all of the normal American fare or is it a different confection?
naby64 , can you please pick me up a grape slushie? HA!

I have an appt. w/my neurologist today. Time to get to the bottom of this and figure out how to stop it in it's tracks next time. This headache is better, but won't go away completely. This is bullshit. I can't believe you are still dealing with this. I hope the neurologist has some ideas for you. how are you doing today? I'm thinking of you, my friend. I'm alright. I slept really poorly last night. I had all sorts of wild dreams I can't remember. But I do remember moving all night long. For those of you who are handing out candy what did you buy? I'm scrooge and my lights will be off. Jeremy picked up the candy on one of his deliveries today. So I'm guessing it is KitKat's and Reese's Peanut Butter cups. His favorites, of course. we found a very nice place that will take him. Just waiting on the insurance approval which is in the works. Not sure if that will come through today or tomorrow. It’s been a relief for sure. This is good news. OK, you say this a lot and I've got to ask. Is this chicken in a white sauce (scampi or alfredo?) or is this chicken in a marinara sauce? Or is it chicken breast with a side of spaghetti? Or is it like chicken parmesan? I just can't do chicken with red sauce at all. It's like the two flavors don't go together in my mind. But I guess I can't wrap my brain around what chicken spaghetti is. LOL! Chloe is coming over tonight because she wants to help me hand out candy. I'll make those corn and pinto bean flautas before trick or treat. I told her to get here early (she won't) if she'd like to eat (she will). I know her and she is late for everything. I can't imagine where she gets that. Hahahaha...she's used to having to reheat her dinner. I'm dragging my feet on things at work today. My brain just isn't quite back in the game. I should just stop procrastinating, do what I need to do, and sit and read my book about witches.

No, we don't have much in the way of American candy here, unless you happen to be American and get it sent over. Even brands that are the same (eg Mars), the products are different in Europe, mainly due to food regulations and what is permitted. I usually do mini bags of Haribo or Trolli gummy assortments. I have bears, worms, snakes, berries and others. Apart from Haribo - and even then, it's a new thing for them - confectionary companies don't make anything special for Halloween.

scrapmaven Thank you! She puts up with a lot of my nonsense. Ughhh. Got my re-check results back, and they went in the direction they were not supposed to. Waiting on the culture results, and we'll see if I either need an antibiotic or a referral to someone else. >< (On the plus side, I think that the nasal spray I got from my new ENT is helping. My ears don't hurt near as often as they had been. Small victories!)

chicken spaghetti: everything is served separately. chickpea pasta.. bits of chicken breast fried in a frying pan, heated up regular spaghetti (red) sauce. I just serve dh and I pasta, then chicken, then sauce with maybe a little parmesan cheese on top. a salad and a piece of fruit and dinner is done.
we don't really eat pork, beef or lamb in our house.

sueg, I love british candy bars. Though I could only eat a couple bites of a Twix or Snickers, because they are richer than ours. Chocolate should be a food group. jeremysgirl, do what you have the energy to do today and just take care of yourself. Will a nap help? rymeswithpurple, it sucks that your results are going in the wrong direction. UGH! I'm gonna lecture you about acupuncture, but I'll do it lightly and in a whisper. It really helps sinuses.

Even British candy is different to most German candy. Chocolate tends to be more block chocolate, rather than bars, and the local candy bars we do have, have much different fillings.

I'm really not much of a Halloween person. The grandkids will come over for bags I made up for them. I am leaving the light on this year because neighbors that moved in this summer have little kids. There re only 14 houses back our lane and they are the only ones with little ones.
Getting ready to head out and run some errands. Going to try and vote if time allows. It is raining lightly. Not enough to make any difference, just settle the dust.
I've been in a real funk the past couple of days. Not really sure why. Actually, I think it is the upcoming election. Just want it to be over with.
Not sure what is for dinner.

Hi well my therapist texted me at 7:30 to tell me something. My phone pinged and then I was awake. I didn’t go to bed until 2. jeremysgirl was up before I went to bed. I am having dinner by myself tonight and it could be anything. I will go to the good grocery store later. There also might be chicken leftovers in the fridge. I will weigh it and see if it’s enough to eat. Then I won’t need to go to the store. We are all good. It’s still dark outside but peaceful. I hope everyone has a great day and we can all check in at various times.

scrapmaven Ironically, the sinuses are doing okay right now! It's this urinalysis that's driving me batty now (sorry if TMI). I think it might be a UTI, but I'll wait for my PCP to get back to me with next steps.

Icky stuff rymeswithpurple . Keep drinking water. stormsts , you have friends here to support though this rough patch. This election is hard on many people. We're both Americans and whether that means red/blue or purple, who cares? It's about every single human on the planet. You are not alone.
Delta Dawn, sounds like you need a nap. Can you get some rest today?

I've been in a real funk the past couple of days. Not really sure why. Actually, I think it is the upcoming election. Just want it to be over with. I'm in Michigan, a swing state, and the ads are overwhelming. I often sit on the couch with Jeremy and do my thing (knit, crochet, read) while he's watching TV and finally the other day I was like how can you stand this? Every commercial is political. I'm overwhelmed and I'm barely paying attention at this point. Take care of yourself. Spoooooooooky sueg! Happy Halloween!

sueg, you've really gone to town w/your cute decorations. The children will love it. jeremysgirl, I'm so tired of the rift btwn one group vs.another. Dh listens to political podcasts, but I just can't. I listen to music. It's much more soothing. hutchfan, Happy Halloween.

No, you are both wrong!! chicken spaghetti is cooked noodles. To that you add a hunk of velveeta cheese, sauteed onions, a can of Rotel and more cheddar cheese, a can of cream of something. Here, this is it. www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a11729/chicken-spaghetti-recipe/

Happy Thursday!
Wow, am I ready for this week to be over! Still somewhat down about DS's visit, but I'm working on letting it go.
I did some training with some new people at work today which was tough because I'm still hacking up a lung with a cough that won't let go. I really hope it doesn't turn into bronchitis.
I didn't make my spaghetti last night and may end up making it tonight if my new instant pot arrives in time for dinner. I fried the old one adding in ingredients when the pot wasn't in there. Oops! I got several Amazon gift cards for my birthday so I went ahead and bought another one because I do use it a lot.
No big Halloween plans. There isn't a sidewalk on my side of the street so I don't get any ToTers I may go over to my sister's after dinner and hang out there.
Hope you all have a good day!
