I planned to make butter chicken, as DD and her partner were coming over. DD messaged me during the day to say that they couldn't make it, and DS ended up going to his girlfriend's house. I decided to still make the butter chicken, and it just means that there is rechauffe for lunch and/or dinner today.

It’s TOT right now. My street only has 26 houses and we’re separated from the rest of the neighborhood by the nature preserve. I’d say 2/3 of our street have kids. They have already come. Most of them put bowls of candy out and went with their kids. Everyone in the family dressed up. I love it. Luke went as buzz lightyear and dh & poppy are woody. Luke’s mom is out of town. I made the barbacoa steak bowls from lucyg’s recipe. It’s perfect because my sil has celiac’s so I used cauliflower rice with beans and leannec’s favorite rotel tomatoes. I’ve also kept my herbs on my patio and still have cilantro. I put it in the rice and the guacamole The Birdhouse Lady your DD’s little family is so cute. I love all the dog costume pics scrappintoee

I only just blew through the thread today, sorry!! Soup for dinner, I think. I need to run and take a quick shower (which I should have done hours ago) before the trick-or-treating starts. The Birdhouse Lady, so glad to hear you’re doing well, and that baby pumpkin is just too cute!! teddyw, good to know the barbacoa worked out for you. Enjoy. jeremysgirl, this is the updated version of Pioneer Woman’s chicken spaghetti. My family loves it. I’m sure you can substitute a homemade white sauce w/mushrooms (or not) if you don’t want to use cream o’ crap. No Rotel, not sure what those other girls are talking about. www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/chicken-spaghetti-recipe-2108829I knew ntsf wasn’t really making my rich, goopy version of chicken spaghetti.

Today was full of drama and it’s over with now. I am good finally but a little bit shaken.
I ran about 6 errands and yay got them all sorted out. I went to the Italian deli and got my balsamic glaze. I was thinking about the future and got 2 bottles. What are the odds I had a salad at 3:00? Pretty good? I can make dinner in a while.

The saline shortage is really impacting infusion centers as well as surgeries and I don't know if it is because canceled procedures were rescheduled or what, but the center was pretty chaotic and nurses run off their feet like I've never seen before. I was freezing and ending up having hot tea and a hot bath when I got home to try warm up. Then snuggled into bed and fell asleep. I need to do some googling about this saline shortage, because I know the main(?) places (Baxter) that makes sterile fluids was impacted by the hurricane in NC----BUT, what I don't understand is ---don't we have SEVERAL other places spread out through the country? Freezing during your chemo sounds so uncomfy! Does that always happen? Witches Brew (an orange sherbet punch), veggie platter skeleton I LOVE Halloween-themed foods! I'd love to see your veggie skeleton. And cadoodlebug I would love to see the rest of your street at night, it must look amazing. I'd love to see the rest of it, too! I LOL at the sign that said something about "Caution" and the scary lady in the tree. Hudson is just the cutest little pumpkin! @birdhouselady.....yessss, he is !!! I cannot WAIT to see what our 7-month-old great niece wore for a costume tonight. We have a family album online where they add lots of piks and videos of baby Avery quite often. DH and I get giddy looking at her adorable-ness !!!! I’ve also kept my herbs on my patio and still have cilantro. Umm....fresh, homegrown cilantro sounds so yummy! I wissssh I could grow fresh herbs, veggies, and flowers. I have TRIED----many, many times. I don't know why they ALWAYS die, when I followed instructions.

jeremysgirl....Yipppppeeee, you posted your piks! Well.....I tried MANY times to post a pik of sweet bee Beatrice, but...ugh! ntsf....Omg, I would LOVE to see piks of your devil twins! We had fun tonight with all the trick-or-treaters, but in the middle of it all, I got one of the WORST headaches! Plus, my scapulae and trapezius have been aching / burning terribly. THank goodness DH quickly got rid of the pain with my turbo-charged massager, plus, I put on my WONDERFUL ice cap. It was sooo sweet how one girl (who was around 12-years-old) asked about our bulldogs. She said she always looked forward to seeing them. Beatrice was NOT into the kiddies at all, and just barked at them. Had fun catching up with some neighbors with the sweetest daughters, one in college. We were freaking out about how FAST they grew up! She still remembered so many fun times we had years ago, andddd they all miss Meaty and Sophie, too.

Hi I was in the Italian deli today and saw all sorts of stuff. They are growing as a business and they are slowly getting more merchandise. I got my balsamic today but don’t know what else to buy. They have lovely pasta, but we don’t eat pasta. I have lots of Parmesan and prosciutto. What would you buy? I want to support her.

jeremysgirl, those are fun, spooky photos. You really go to town. I love it. So, I had my neurology appt. She said that my migraine is probably more severe than I think it is, because I have such a high tolerance for pain. I'm on steroids, but it's getting a bit worse, again. So, there's a decent chance that she's going to have me admitted for 2 days in order to get rid of it and do some testing to try and help avoid them going on so long in the future. I have a TBI(traumatic brain injury) from a fight w/a big ladder many years ago. The ladder won. It's mild, but it left me w/some residual issues. Who knew? Anyway, I will see how I feel tmw and then if it's worse I'll take her advice and go in. It's really a minor problem and going to an ER seems extreme. Anyway, next step is a headache specialist. As my sil always says, "The last thing you need is another ologist". Oy. lucyg and ntsf, please check your PM's.

BTW-my family got me a gift a few years ago. It's a book, "How to Tell if Your Cat is Trying to Kill You." It's very funny and a bit unsettling. hehe.

Linda......that's a fun skeleton! scrapmaven.....Ugh.....agree with your sister about another "ologist" I hope they can figure out how to STOP or at least---lessen--- your migraines Also, didn't you recently say you might have to be admitted for your malfunctioning device? (( hugs )) Maybe if you end up needing to be admitted for BOTH issues; they can take care of both at the same time....a "two-fer" if you will..... . I know you're a muccch more patient patient than me; I cannot STAND to be in the hospital !!!!

Dinner tonight was candy as zero.zilch.nada. trick-or-treaters showed up. Disappointed.
I actually made a chicken Caesar salad. I will be pawning off candy tomorrow, less a few I hold back for myself. Which I shouldn't. But I will. 😂

naby64 - this is the recipe for my Shakshuka Sweet potato, bean and kale shakshukaI usually substitute spinach for the kale and I use white beans - I think you could use any pale variety of beans in this. I also add a sprinkle of chili flakes, to spice it up a bit.

scrappintoee start with chives, oregano, thyme and parsley. They’re very hardy. Mint is too but it’s invasive. Basil needs lots of light & heat. Not sure about cilantro
