Hello! I want to have a birthday party for DD on a Sunday in a couple of weeks. She will be 22. It will mostly be family (DD's boyfriend, DD#2, Gma, Aunt, Mom/Dad and a few friends).
There's a Chiefs game on that day at noon. I could make her favorite foods. Have a DQ ice cream cake, candles, sing, decorate with a cheesy birthday banner. We like card games, watching TV, movies and crafty stuff. That's all kindof stuff we do on a regular basis.
I would like to do something different and fun. :-) Most attendees will be women, but there are a few dudes that probably would be just as happy to sing, eat and then be left alone and watch football. LOL
It's too late to carve pumpkins, it seems too early for gingerbread houses ... It doesn't have to be at our house but I don't wanna spend a ton of money either. We live close to a moderate sized city that has plenty to do. (like Top Golf, Dave and Busters, Chicken & Pickle, etc ... but they do this kind of stuff all the time with DD's boyfriend's family).
Wine and mixed drinks are good but it will probably be during the day and everyone has to work the next day.
Thank you in advance for ideas, experiences and help! <3

Build the best Turkey house using graham crackers, icing, sprinkles, etc? Make it a competition with a small prize for winner.
Pong? Could be fun to have different flavored Kool aid drinks in the cups?

We did a blind wine tasting - it was fun.
You order numbered bags for the wines then write a description for each one ($8 white wine from Trader Joe’s with hints of pear…etc)
Then everyone tastes and guesses which is which - it was a lot of fun.

DD went to a candle making place for her birthday this year. IIRC, they made their candles, went out to dinner and came back to pick them up on the way home. There are lots of local places that offer this but if they aren't in your area, I imagine you could gather the supplies and do it at home.
Making succulent gardens or wreaths is also something she has done with friends. I have tons of succulents so she just took a bunch of starts and used them along with funky cups/pottery picked up at thrift stores.
Permanent bracelets is another thing she has done with friends but I'm not sure how pricey that is compared to the above choices.

Have you ever gone to one of those pottery painting places? They have lots of different pieces for you to choose from and you paint one any way you want ... you do have to leave it there to be fired and pick it up later in the week ...
You could even look into having wine and pizza or something like that there at the studio - I've done that for a ladies meetup group I used to run and it was a lot of fun!

My friend did a jeopardy game for her young adult daughter. We had 3 teams- mom friends, neighbor girls and neighbor boys. It was super fun and the moms won!
