Below is a quote from the idiot. I’ve been thinking about it and see it has a threat to women. So I decided to ask you guys to see what you think. Looking for the quote I found this article from MT. Apparently I’m not alone. What do you think? From MT ”In a startling rally speech in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Wednesday night, Donald Trump made headlines yet again for incendiary comments about women, declaring, “ I told women I will be their protector. They said, ‘Sir, please don’t say that.’ Well, I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not.” The remark has since gone viral, sparking a backlash from women’s rights advocates, political leaders, and a mobilized bloc of female voters whose early turnout is already outpacing men’s in key swing states” x.com/meidastouch/status/1852045655180455971?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

I have been absolutely astonished at the number of men I have seen posting in the election season that women shouldn't be able to vote, or, at the least, that their households should get votes that the man gets to cast on the household's behalf. Because, say those men, that is what Christianity commands.
I don't think he is kidding. I don't think they are kidding. They really do want to take us back. The question of course is, who are they protecting women from? And the answer of course is . . . men.

Gross. He absolutely means it in the “don’t worry your little head about all this man stuff,” way.

totally meaningless and I'm quoting a friend of mine who is voting for him. "Oh he doesn't really mean what he says. He just likes the attention."
Don't ask me why she is voting for him. I think it's probably guns.

I find it incredibly insulting. I am an extremely independent woman and have always been --I don't need anyone to "take care of me" unless I assign that relationship to someone.. like my husband or brother. not some random guy, not the government.. no one. god gave me a brain so I use it. and I can be tough and strong and clever.. so don't need that paternalistic shit.
(from the gal who climbed, skied, taught trail building, on fire crew, and took woodshop.. in the 1970's)..

I think that he’s an out of touch old fart. What concerns me are the men beginning to say that there should be “household” votes, or that women shouldn’t vote. Luckily, it is highly unlikely that they would ever have enough support to repeal the 19th amendment. But it is alarming, nonetheless.

The fact that some men are openly talking about it and it's no longer just the fringe is alarming.

I don't think that he meant it as a threat, although the actual words definitely sound like a threat. I think he was trying to show that he cares for women and wants to protect women (even though we know this is demonstrably NOT true). It's like "Come on now, you silly little women, we men know what's best for you, and even though you don't think you need us to protect you, we all know that you're not capable, and we do need to protect you."
Ugh.

I have watched the video a number of times and find the comment to be despicable. I also did not like the way he said the word “women”. I found it to be demeaning.

And they have already sent made up lawsuits to the scotus. The scotus is THE issue until it’s more balanced. Period. ( no I won’t make the effort to capitalize that until I can respect it again. )

I agree with Aussiemeg that it wasn’t intended to be a threat but Trump is socially inept and doesn’t really know how to communicate what he is trying to, especially when it doesn’t correspond with what he actually thinks. I just saw him tell a group in New Mexico “I like you very much and it helps my credentials with the hispanic community.” I mean, if that isn’t convincing voters that you care for them I don’t know what is.

Luckily, it is highly unlikely that they would ever have enough support to repeal the 19th amendment. That's what they said about Roe v Wade. Look how that turned out. As for the comment, he absolutely meant it as a threat.

I get what you are saying but 100% disagree. Did you see what he said about pointing rifles at Liz Cheney? He is purposely putting threats against women out there because his base is men who hate that just being men isn’t enough to get status and power in 2024.

Yes, I do think he is intentionally threatening Cheney and it is not ok. I’m just not sure if the “protecting” comment was intended to be a threat but it isn’t very reassuring that is for sure. All of his actions are threats to women.

Um no - just no - I told my husband in 2016 if he voted for the pussy grabber it was over / forget me - look your daughter in the eye and say this is ok. I’m sad that anyone thinks they need to hide their vote- really genuinely sad - we should be shouting that it’s not ok because it’s not ok
