I was afraid it was pro trump. This co worker is what I consider a very religious person, so why the fuck is she supporting someone who has broken most of the 10 Commandments? And has called people all kinds of horrible names. Just venting.

Also, to be clear, Trump has not apologized for the comedian's remarks. His campaign tried to say that the joke did not reflect Trump's views, but his campaign vetted the guy, approved his speech, loaded it into the teleprompter and knew exactly who they were getting when they invited him. And Trump has not distanced himself or apologized for any of the other offensive remarks made by the comedian. Or the offensive remarks made by Tucker Carlson that night. Vance dismissed the whole thing and said people need to get over it.
And the remarks are similar to what Trump himself has said. Trump referred to the US as a dumping ground and a garbage can for the world. Trump referred to adversaries as garbage and scum. He referred to anyone who opposes him as "the enemy within"
The language is very much in line with Trump's comments, opinions and style of speaking.

The makers of sesame Street has mocked Trump since way back. Since it's NYC based and he's been known as "yuk" there forever, it makes sense. I recall the "Donald Trump" character. I actually think this is in response to the island of Puerto Rico being called "a floating island of garbage" by a comedian at the Trump rally, and is meant to be anti-Trump. A PR friend of mine posted a meme about it and so did a couple other liberal friends. ETA I think I missed yet another back and forth between Trump and anti -Trump supporters, I can't keep up and don't care anymore. Lol ! |

Oh, no, I realize it was in no way endorsed by Sesame Street. They would certainly not be posting pro-trump memes. I just felt like using a character from a show that always promoted being inclusive, celebrating differences, etc. for anything pro-trump related (if this was in fact supposed to be pro-trump) would be an odd choice. |

I actually thought Biden might have meant to say “the only garbage is from Trump supporters” but I really don’t care what he meant. He is not running and what he said is not even half as bad as what Trump says on a daily basis.
