Good morning.
Today we're gonna grab a coffee and then I will catch up on some of the chores I need to do. Vacuuming is a dream job. I'll also knit and practice my aria.
What is everyone up to today?
Dinner is Giada's chicken meatballs and orchiette.
What's on your menu?
lucyg, how did your day of doctor's apptointments go? I'm thinking of you.
leannec, how do you feel today? How is your foot? I hope that you're feeling much better today.
sueg, how is your cold? I hope that you're well.
Wishing everyone a contented, happy, easy day!

Happy Thursday!
I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday. More centered and less sad. I've got a follow up dr appointment today so I think I will talk with her about more anxiety meds.
I didn't have my parents over last night so I will make the chicken enchiladas tonight, probably just for myself as I don't really feel up to company tonight.
Hope you all have a good day!

Good evening, I am almost better, just a bit of a cough left, but it’s not as frequent or gunky as before. Still miserable weather though, so I’m staying in unless I need to go out. I’ve been working on Sophia’s cardigan most of the day and it’s coming along nicely - I should have the body done by the end of the weekend at the latest. DH is coming back from Barcelona tonight - at this point, his flight looks like there may only be a 5-10 minute delay, though it’s still 80 minutes until scheduled departure, so who knows. The Ethiopian lentils I made yesterday were really yum, which is good as there is at least one full serve left to be dinner again tonight!

leannec, how do you feel today? How is your foot? I hope that you're feeling much better today. I "feel" OK today but my foot is giving me grief ... so painful! I'll definitely be getting an x-ray and ultrasound done on it on November 14th ... No decent subbing jobs popped up last night or this morning so I'm home today ... at least I will be able to rest my foot and raise it to keep the swelling down ... I need to take out my garbage and recycling sometime today ... that is about it! I haven't even thought about dinner Thanks for always checking up on me!!

I have an errand to run this morning then my tech guy is picking up my computer tower to install the new hard drive. He'll return it tomorrow morning. Not sure what's for dinner, maybe split pea soup.

If my leeks are still good, then potato leek soup. I haven't checked them since I bought them a week or so ago.
Hope everyone has a great day. Mine is poop. Basically, told I am not trying hard enough to get internet in a bldg on campus. "Because we have to have internet for BSF and the lecture to livestream." Well, we have internet. It's only been messing up for the last 2 weeks. We have the answer from AT&T that it is old copper wiring and fiber is not available. I will now call the internet provider we have in this bldg. It's not that we don't have it, we do. I am sorry but it is not just putting a modem/hot spot in there like you think. I am already on edge with this particular person due to this week's events and I was at my desk in tears almost. The pastor was standing behind him as we were talking. We will see if the treatment is acknowledged.

I will catch up on some of the chores I need to do. Vacuuming is a dream job. I'll also knit and practice my aria. You lead as glamorous a life as I do. What is everyone up to today? I was supposed to have a meeting with my boss and director today as a follow up to the one I had last week. However, I came in this morning to see it had been rescheduled to next week. Word around the cubicles is that my director's secretary took today off weeks ago and he approved it. Then yesterday when she said, see ya Tuesday, he had forgotten and berated her for taking time off (that HE APPROVED) when he needed her to attend this meeting. I've also heard that she is considering filing a complaint too. Then they cancelled the staff meeting for tomorrow. So I won't have to talk face to face with any of them until next Thursday. I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday. More centered and less sad. I've got a follow up dr appointment today so I think I will talk with her about more anxiety meds. If you're anxiety is being caused by actual outside influences, I hope you will consider therapy. There are strategies you can utilize to help you deal with this in a way that is way more productive than meds. Of course, meds can also be a helping hand and are necessary if the anxiety is not caused by external triggers. I might put on a movie this afternoon and crochet. All this nonsense has got me craving a brain reset. I will be making black eyed peas with collard greens and sweet potatoes. I will come back on my phone and post a pic of some Thanksgiving shirts I found this morning. I asked Jeremy if we could wear them for dinner and he said yes. I also registered us for the Turkey Trot.

DH is “working” today. He’s helping at his buddies body shop while they are away for a couple days. He’s happy to help answer the phone and deal with deliveries and it gives him something to do.
I’ve spent an hour unstringing lights from a Christmas tree we used to put outside on the porch. The lights came already attached to the tree so it was a bit of a task. I want to change the tree we put outside but am too cheap to buy new lights! I’ve decided not to put up a large tree inside because the kids aren’t here for Christmas anymore and if we have a dinner, we use the garage space. Walker would knock over the tree so I will put a little one in the living room table. Totally works for the two of us.
Supper will be leftover pizza.

Did your allergist or PCP run your Tryptase?? It can cause pseudo reactions because the mast cells are triggered. Anyways, I would ask to have a standing order on file and IF you have a severe reaction again, immediate go get the lab done. It may give you some solid answers. There is also a genetic screen now for MCAD/MCAS. We are currently trying to get it approved for DD and I. I'm looking to get this sweater (The chef is in) since I am cooking for family this year:

Happy Thursday dinner friends!
What a week! Work is so incredibly busy and DH has some real estate deals going on, so I've tried to balance dog and work all week. Luckily I'm seeing a light at the end of this week's tunnel and DH will head to the ranch tomorrow with the puppy. The house needs cleaned and tidied up so badly, it's getting to me.
Dinner will be the last of the Rueben Casserole. it was tasty! I need to make it more often.
I'm in the mood to bake, but not sure what I want to make.
Wishing everyone a great day!

I need to catch up the past couple of days. I always think the design of that truck is so primitive. Not to mention ugly. I’m starting to see them everywhere I go. I love the thanksgiving tees. Speaking of thanksgiving I forgot I had potatoes and bought more so I made mashed potatoes. Some for dinner and I put the rest in the freezer for thanksgiving. Is it too soon? Dinner is tortilla crusted tilapia, Brussels sprouts , salad and m potatoes. jeremysgirl your boss is a gem. We’re also turkey trotting. I will walk not run. Luke is doing the kids’ dash.

will come back on my phone and post a pic of some Thanksgiving shirts I found this morning. I asked Jeremy if we could wear them for dinner and he said yes. I also registered us for the Turkey Trot. Love the shirts! We will do our local turkey trot and I actively dislike the t-shirts this year. They are usually a shade of blue/green/turquoise/aqua with a surfing turkey and this year the main color is a dull beige. ntsf, a friend of mine goes helicopter or cat skiing every year near Revelstoke. Amazing photos but way past my skill level. Okay, I'm having a day. No pressure to read, but I need to put it out in the universe. I was out early for my PET scan. One of the employees came in after me and asked her co-worker if she'd seen the dead bird in the parking lot. She hadn't seen it and neither had I. Then we all watch as a woman picks up this crow and starts doing compressions. Next thing we see it on her shoulder. I had to go in for my scan and get filled in later that someone saw her and asked if it was her bird. No, but she is taking it home to make sure it is okay. Later I'm heading home via Costco for gas when DH calls. He is going to Vancouver tonight and asks if I can check if his glasses came in. I'm in a nice wife mood, so say sure even though I hadn't planned to go in the store. They are in, so decide to take them down to where he is working. He says just go home because he can't come out of where he's working to meet me. I burst into tears and realize I was in nice wife mood because I wanted to get a hug before he leaves. I don't think it helped that I had to fast for the scan and the day started at 52F/11C and was 80F/26C by 10:30am. Now my phone is blowing up in a group text as a friend has shared that her youngest is transitioning. She told her very religious family in April, but has been living as a woman since July 2023. But got married as a man Oct 23. So a divorce is in the works, too. I'm seeing my friend next week at a retreat which is why she is sharing now. I knew their DIL was living with them and looking for work but did not expect this twist. So it's been a weird Santa Ana day around here. With DH heading out of town, my dinner making mojo always drops significantly but I will rally enough to heat up a Trader Joe's frozen Japanese style rice dish. Extra broccoli will be added and shrimp if it doesn't come with a protein in it.

I went cat school when I left collage.. family tradition. we were up in the selkirks. I only worry about skiing for that long in a day.. but it also would be different powder skiing rather than packed high speed runs at a resort. I am going to try out some new fat skis this winter for powder.
I have decided that I don't like packing for trip with dh at home. he has taken over the bedroom all day and I keep saying. are you done? no. I have pulled together most stuff but need to pull out everything and do a final packing and seeing if it fits. I have to answer "where is such and such?" periodically.

Hey guys I just want to say that I'm going to step away for a few days. I feel like I've been just obsessed with all things election. The scrolling, the news, the memes. I'm just overwhelmed. I've eaten ice cream and potato chips for dinner like the past two nights and then I had KFC (chicken murderer!) on Tuesday night. I'm just not taking good self care. So I'm taking a bit of a break.
I'll come back when my nerves stop nerving.

Hi I have been missing from here for a long while, life was…well, heavy. That’s kind of a good word. I’ve just been in a bit of a funk, and focusing on the internal. After the death of both parents, and all that comes after that, I just had to cut some stuff, and social medias (including here) had to be cut way back for my own good. But this year has been so much better, and I’m making it out of my funk! In January my long time (since 2016) BF and I got married, I lost the post parent passing weight, went on a self healing backpacking trip, got back into scrapbooking, reading more, and have started lurking and peaing again. This week has been heavy, but I’m not gonna let it drag me down again. Of course the election, but Tuesday was Dads birthday and today is Mom’s. And this weekend I have to pick up the ashes of their dog who has been with me since they both passed. She recently passed away, and that was the last connection to them. I’m going to take her to the cemetery to be with them soon. I always enjoyed stopping in here to see what you’re up to. Whew…sorry that all just kind of came out, not trying to be a bummer… Tonight’s dinner wasn’t exciting at all, but DH had a specific craving for pizza, so that’s what we had. It was nice to have the night off!

kelly8875 it's so good to see you back here. Your chair is right here. Please take a seat and stay. Though each year gets easier after your parents pass, there are days that it's a gut punch. It will keep getting better and better. You'll see. jeremysgirl, take a much needed break and focus on things that bring you happiness. We can't change outcomes, but we can choose to focus on other stuff. bc2ca, That's a really weird story, but there are some different folks in the universe. How was your PETscan? I'm sending good news thoughts. I was zoned all day long. Acupuncture finally stopped the restlessness and I'm just exhausted. After a good night's sleep I will be much better tmw. I love me some acupuncture!!!!!

My dinner was made the way I wanted to eat. I had rosé meat sauce and 5 vegetables. Holy cow I have eaten everything in the house! I have done well.
Last night was a disaster because I had 2 Nanaimo bars and cereal. What happened to me? I felt sick this morning.
I went for a long walk that nearly killed me with a friend and Dexter was wild. He freaked out every time a person passed us or had a dog. I am so tired.
I have recycling to do tonight and need to clean up the kitchen. I am tired. I am totally fine but tired.

bc2ca your day is weirder than mine! Did I understand that someone revived a dead bird from the parking lot and now it was sitting on her shoulder? A wild bird? That is weird!! The clinic employee thought the bird was dead, but it must only have been stunned. I've seen it with birds hitting our kitchen window. Yup, a wild bird and very weird to watch. Well geez bc2ca he'd better get home and hug you soon. And then have a pint of ice cream for dinner. No hug. He headed to the airport right from work, so I knew I'd only get the hug if I went to him. And I did have a caramel apple mochi ice cream - sadly my days of a Ben & Jerry pint are not worth the uncomfortable aftermath any more. Enjoy a media/news free weekend. I'm severely restricting my exposure. bc2ca, That's a really weird story, but there are some different folks in the universe. How was your PETscan? I'm sending good news thoughts. The scan center always lets me take a copy of the images to my gyne onc which gives me faster results than waiting for the official report to my med onc, so fingers crossed he gets to look at it before the weekend. Great to see you, kelly8875. Congratulations on your wedding and working your way through all the heaviness.
