Good morning. Wow. I was zonked yesterday. Acupuncture worked really well. The restlessness from the migraine is gone and I'm feeling human. Today I have my first ever appt w/a chiropractor in my acupuncturist's office. He's fresh out of school, but worked as a tech while he was in school. He's more holistic which is right up my alley. Then I'm getting my Covid shot. I had to wait since I had covid in August. I figured that I might as well get it done today, since I have nothing planned this weekend. Though I'm hopeful that I won't have side effects, I know my body and I'm sure I will feel ill tmw and possibly Sunday. I'll knit, take tylenol and get over myself.
We are finally going out to the dinner that we've tried to go to for the past month. Ods is stayng overnight and we're going to a favorite Japanese restaurant. Though I just drink green tea while ds and dh eat dinner. That's fine w/me. I've been stuck at home and being out sounds nice.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
I hope that everyone can enjoy their weekend, find peace and feel good.

Happy Friday! Glad you're feeling better scrapmaven! I'm starting my social postings for the month and trying to work ahead a bit so that I can take next Friday off for a 3 day weekend. In our work, we get taco emojis as thanks in our slack channels and if you get 120, you get a day off. Yesterday, I reached that so I redeemed them for a day off! I'm trying to use up my days off before the end of the year but some will carry over so that's fine too. Tonight, we're going to a local theater to see a melodrama. You throw popcorn at the bad guys so it should be fun. I'll eat dinner there before the show. Hope you all have a great day!

Good evening and welcome to the weekend!
Not much happening here today. I had to pop to the grocery store for a few things, but other than that, it’s been knitting, podcasts and Netflix. DH got home at a reasonable hour last night - despite leaving Barcelona 30 minutes late, they were only 15 minutes late landing and he only had carryon. He’s only home for a couple of days though - he’ll be on a flight Sunday morning to Philadelphia! This means that not much is happening over the weekend here. A quick grocery shop tomorrow, I’ll have to make my own way to church on Sunday, there will be knitting and some football watching.
Dinner tonight will be Okonomyaki - I was going to make it yesterday, before I knew DH wouldn’t make it for dinner, so I postponed it as he likes it too and has missed the last few times I’ve made it.

Happy Friday dinner friends! scrapmaven I'm glad you're feeling better and hope you have very minimal side effects from your vaccine. Enjoy your dinner out. sueg You're husband lives the life I lived for a LONG time, the traveler in me is a tiny bit envious, but the work traveler I was is so glad those days are behind me. When I was travelling, any trip to PHL always led to an adventure, once there was a shooting right outside my hotel, in a nice district! my contact with the client was insistent on meeting me in the lobby and walking me to the training sight, I knew why when I saw the caution tape and the body outline on the sidewalk. @rhymeswithpurple here is the link to the Rueben Casserole: www.thisisnotdietfood.com/reuben-casserole/?fbclid=IwAR3NTXC9zAWZq1qVA403V5oWWCobNpDms5gEEXyWexcH1Lephui9GO12sZE_aem_AS4BTGq7Jkw5W6Z9UxBmRbtZeaQqRxVXqgATCfYgqZS7Fv3wDaF2rv7LrEi2feQdXP8 It was much better the first time around, but made 3 meals for DH and I. I prefer the casserole to sandwiches since there can be leftovers. I'm excited about the weekend. There are several craft/vendor fairs at local model homes and churches in the area. A friend and I are going to a few tomorrow. There is a church a few blocks from my house that I might try to go this afternoon. Sunday is quiet day! I need a quiet day! DH is leaving for the ranch in a bit, I'll clean puppy slobber off the windows, vac, mop and get the house tidied up. The house cleaner comes on Tuesday, so I won't need to be too particular today. I'm having dinner with my favorite Great niece this evening, she's had some drama in her 24 yr old life lately and I'm looking forward to spending the evening with her. I'm not sure if we will go out or hang out here at the house and order food in. There is a good Thai place nearby that I might suggest, but we will have whatever her heart desires. Have a great Friday and weekend ahead dinner friends!

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better scrapmaven! I'm off work for at least the next week as it is Fall Break for students here ... teachers have a PD day today but that doesn't involve subs ... at least that gives me a number of days to take it easy on my foot and then see my doctor on the 14th ... I need to wash the Jeep and grab a few groceries today ... Dinner will depend on whether a friend comes over tonight or not ... he's a teacher and has to suffer through the PD today so he might welcome some chatting and eating and drinking tonight! It's a totally platonic relationship.

Happy Friday! I was beginning to think this day would never get here. It was a rough work week. I am still trying to figure out how we got to November already!
If I wasn't teaching one night this week, I was at one of the DGS's basketball games. This weekend will be pretty quiet. I want to start my Christmas shopping if I can get ideas from everyone. We got our family pictures back that we had taken last weekend. They turned out pretty good. Thinking I will make a calendar for my parents and in-laws as a Christmas gift.
DH wants sausage biscuits and gravy for dinner.

leannec , have a low tolerance for going to your urgent care. If you need further care like a fracture shoe, boot or brace you really shouldn't put it off. I wonder if you stress fractured something? Enjoy dinner w/your friend. sueg , if I post a photo of my knitting project, basic scarf on the knitting thread would you be willing to critique it, bluntly? I'm not going to get my feelings hurt. I need help. We're going to a place w/a really nice yarn store next week and I want to get yarn for a 2nd project, but only if I'm capable of doing the project. I would go to Philly, drop your dh off and then go to NYC and play. Broadway, museums, shopping and Broadway. Did I mention Broadway? stormsts , Are you taking the long weekend? Maybe you need to do so, if you can. We're going into your busiest season and I've been wondering what you're going to do in order to balance your time btwn work and rest? Can you put a plan into place? I've been thinking about this for you.
austnscrapaddict, yikes. No wonder you don't miss business travel. Like you, dh traveled a lot on business and he is happy staying home now. His career enabled him to see parts of the world that he would not have seen and at the time it was a wonderful perk to the job.

austnscrapaddict - Dh has had some 'adventures' in Philly as well - it's really not one of his favourite destinations. I think the work travel is beginning to take its toll after all these years. It's been particularly bad since mid-September (he stayed home for most of August and the first week of September, due to my surgery), I think only home one week, apart from our week of vacation. Even that - he arrived home from work trip to Vienna on Wednesday, we headed to Venice Thursday, arrived home Sunday 10 days later and Monday he was off to Sweden for work again! Hopefully, he'll get a break over Christmas - it does involve travel, but home to family, so less sightseeing and more chilling with the grandkids. scrapmaven - If I could travel with DH, I would. It's easier if I go where he's going, as then hotels are covered mostly by work. We just couldn't afford for me to go with him everywhere, even if I wanted to go to some of the places he travels to. And right now, I'm in another round of medical appointments - we still need to work out what the cyst in my cheek is, that got put on hold when they found the brain tumour.

sueg, I forgot about your cheek. The last thing you need is another medical procedure or problem. I will think good thoughts that it's an easy fix and that you're just fine.

At one point in my career, I taught an employment program that required some travel. I loved travelling by myself, staying in hotel rooms, eating alone in restaurants- all on the company card. I also had two young kids at home so it was like a mini vacation every few months!
DH is back working at the body shop today. I’m staying close to home waiting for Amazon to pick up a return. Then I’ll go for a walk in the brisk fall weather.
Tomorrow I’m meeting a former coworker for lunch. We live a couple hours away from each other so we meet in the middle.
Supper is meatballs. They are in the crockpot so it’s a low effort meal.

The date for today's thread is wrong, can that be changed to 11/08? scrapmaven glad to hear you're feeling better. I love my chiropractor, hopefully you have luck! Mine takes the time to figure out the problem, it's not just a cracking. Luckily I only need him a few times a year usually, but sometimes I have to go a couple times a week to get it fixed. He doesn't like to do too much at once, which is good. This weekend I have plans to help my son paint his livingroom. Both DS and DD bought houses and officially moved out this late summer/fall. Time flies...I miss them both, but am proud of them! DS is colorblind, so he likes the help from me. He can't see the spots that need touched up, so that's where I come in. Dinner tonight will likely be leftover pizza from last night. I made sure to order enough to not have to cook again!

I am at a 4-day crop and I think I forgot to say goodbye! Dinner tonight is some kind of chicken dish. Tomorrow we’re on our own, so my friends and I will go out or order in our dinner from somewhere.
Wishing everyone well and I’ll be back in a few days.
P.S. I had a bi-monthly scan a few days ago, and the good news is, I’m not dead yet! No change is where I stand at the moment. I’m good with that.

I’m at a crop in Vermont until Sunday. Dinner tonight was just announced…baked ziti, chicken and biscuits, mixed vegetables, salad, rolls, soup and dessert. I’m happy to have a break from my day to day life. karenlou called last night and said they had completed 90 surgeries in 5 days and they were headed for the fun and adventure part of the trip. She will be home late on Monday.

I just got my computer back and I'm in heaven! It is SO much faster and Rich gave me a plug-in to boost my WIFI. He also got rid of crap like McAfee who would remind me multiple times a day that my protection had ended. All that for $50! He said since he retired, he does computer work, not to make money but to stay busy. Have fun at your crops lucyg and KelleeM ! scrapmaven , I'm glad you're feeling better. I visit my Chiropractor every 4 weeks for maintenance and have never had to call in between to get tweaked. Dinner will be Split Pea Soup. TGIF dear tribemates! Wish I had taken a picture before they lost so many leaves:

My dad wasn’t able to get butternut squash that had been cubed so he came home with BNS soup and it’s my most favourite soup ever.
The cleaners are coming today so I am happy about that. I will get the vegetables ready in a while.
My craft fair partner just texted me asking if I want to go so we are going on Sunday. We have been quite a few times to this one fair.
I am excited about the long weekend and plan to go see the kids’ dog maybe tomorrow. I am excited!

Enjoy your crops lucyg and KelleeMI’m glad you’re feeling better scrapmavenGetting ready for a reception for my mini flower press. It’s called Cold Connections. So no solder or chemical connections. I riveted mine. I’m having a pity party because dh went golfing and won’t be back in time. I haven’t submitted any work to a real show in years. I’m trying not to let it ruin my night but everyone there will ask where he is. I don’t paint like a Renaissance painter so he has no respect for it. My dd who lives in Michigan is also artsy so she’s the only who really gets it. I love the art for the main gallery show so I’m anxious to talk to that artist. First world problem I know. I’m also going to a class the rest of the weekend so I’m looking forward to that. Dinner is up in the air.

Hello everyone! Today was a cool and drizzly day. My favorite! I got a 7 week out haircut. It should be perfect by wedding time. All Halloween and Fall is down. If I can catch a window in the rain tomorrow, some Christmas will be making it's way in.
Dinner tonight is vegetable soup and cornbread. I'm so excited for it.

Dad said I made the best ribs ever. I cooked them in a le cruset knock off dutch oven (for no other reason than I wanted to ) and they were just so good.
i roasted vegetables because I like them and I reminded my dad that if they were too often he didn’t have to eat them. I can cook him something else. He said he ate beets a lot growing up. I told him that oddly enough I didn’t. He doesn’t have to eat them, right?

ntsf , have a wonderful vacation. That's great news that your ds is moving back home. Ok, riddle me this, Batman: Ods has a foot that is red and swollen, he's limping, but the pain is much better. So, he called urgent care for an appt. In his system that's what you do. They transferred him to an advice nurse. She triaged him and had a doctor call him back. The doctor hasn't looked at the foot. So, he hasn't seen the swelling or palpated for lumps or pain. Lumps can indicate fracture. Anyway, he ordered an xray and then told my ds that he'll call him w/in 24-48 hours w/the results. That's it. I'm completely baffled. My son is stuck w/an insurance system that I don't like, but it's employer paid. At his age, he doesn't need the stellar insurance that we pay for. Having stress fractured my feet 14 times, I am gobsmacked. My doctor can often tell what's going on by looking at and touching my foot. Am I in a parallel universe? Ok, just venting. It's not a major issue. This is the small stuff, but for a teacher feet are important, because he's on his feet all day long, walking around his classroom.
Of course, his mother is worried about a DVT (highly unlikely). I really think this should be seen person.
Delta Dawn , I would love to do a scrap retreat, too. Fun stuff. Congrats on the yummy ribs.
