They were chumps. Gave their lives and their health for garbage. Mocked by their commander in chief. No chumps here! Served 30 years-active duty and husband did 20 years active duty service. My son is heading to Navy Officer Candidate School in January. My husband and I would do it all again for our country. America is not garbage. You have the right to say this disrespectful language on a forum message board thread thanking Veterans for serving and it's your opinion. I'm sincerely glad you have this option! America is a free country. Our men and women who serve keep it this way. You sound like a very toxic and bitter person. I'm sorry if things in your life contribute to this feeling you have about America. I hope 2025 is a good year for you and I wish you nothing but happiness and prosperity. I believe you missed my point, which is exactly the opposite of how I sounded. It's my fault for not being more clear in my sarcasm, Of course I don't think America is garbage but the next commander in chief does and as far as I'm concerned so does everyone who voted for him.

My apologies, I thought you had a specific situation that rendered you unable to make your own healthcare decision. If you are specifically talking about abortion, then you actually can make your own healthcare decision and drive to a state where it is legal and have one performed. Your country isn't stopping you from making your own healthcare decisions regarding abortion. I think you are conflating the issues. I think you are serious, and if the percentages on this board are any indication a female veteran also. You are telling me it’s histrionics to be upset we can put our lives on the line for our country but our bodily autonomy is up to voters and states rights?! In what universe is that ok? My veterans FB groups are filled with people worried about the coming changes and pleas by VSOs to get claims in. This crosses political lines, the worry. I think you live in some bubble out side reality glitterowl.
Well, my dear...clearly we don't belong to the same FB groups because I'm not hearing anything related to the issues you describe. You have your opinions and I have mine. Thanks for the interesting discussion.
The plans written out in project 2025 aren’t opinions. Veterans and their families shouldn’t have to wait for benefits to be cut before they can be concerned. The fact that dropping concurrent receipt is even up for discussion should send alarm bells for any and all who rely on their benefits. The veterans I know were pretty disgusted with all the trite “thank you for service” on Veterans Day from officials who voted against legislation like the Pact Act for example.
