I knew it was over when the one district here in CO, flipped to R.
You break it, you bought it, is all I can muster at this moment.
Okay, maybe I have a little bit more. The margins of victory are not as bad as they could have been. Down ballot, there is evidence that the country is not as upset at Democrats as they just needed to make the top of the ticket pay. In places like Montana, in their state House the Democrats flipped 9, maybe 10 seats, and broke the supermajority. Democrats need to string elections together, and play the long game just like the GOP did to get here.
The urge to give up on America will be great. Don't cede what it means to be an American to MAGA based on these slim results. It's part of the "don't comply in advance." They want people to give up, because it makes it easier for them. America isn't what we thought it was. Knowing that is good, and necessary.

I decided the hell with it, and started putting up my Christmas tree. What else can we do today, but find a way to cope and survive. And contact your Congress peeps to remind them, they are separate from the Executive Branch!

I was holding out a tiny bit of hope for the House. What happens to Stefanik's set? Any chance Democrats can flip that in NY? Or Gaetz's seat in Florida? Would love to see Democrats flip Rubio's set, too but all of that seems like really wishful thinking.

In NY we have to have a special election. It's a red area and there is literally no way a Democrat will get it.
I will also give an aside that due to redistricting a tiny portion of my county ended up in her district. Lucky me. Apparently that is being corrected so no clue whether I get to vote for the replacement.

You are in the minority. A very slim majority. And I’m coming around to being okay with this because the coming months/years might finally wake you (collective you) up to what he really is. It sucks that we all have to suffer along with you but I think at this point it’s a necessary evil. Also I’m a dual citizen with Canada so if anyone wants to chip in on a house I’m there. I’ve already had some American friends ask. |
