Or for those who moved around a lot in childhood, which place you most identify as ‘home’?
My answer is zero. I now live in the home where I grew up. This is something I never anticipated when I was younger and wanted to be as far away from my home town as possible! 🤷♀️

I was born in Melbourne, Australia though we moved around a lot until settling back there in 1999. I now live in Munich, Germany which is just over 16,000km from’home’ We do intend to retire back to Australia in a few years and will go back to Melbourne most likely, as our grandchildren are there.

About 70 miles My Dad still lives in the town where he grew up, where his father started their family business, where I was born etc so I still get to see the area when I visit him.

About three miles. I would love to live in my home town but the properties there are too expensive for the same in the town I live in now - minimum of 10% premium depending on type of house. It doesn't sound a lot but it puts homes to meet my needs above my budget.

500 feet
My parents built a home on family property and I built a home about 20 years ago right next-door on family property. I have three cousins up the road who built houses in the same area.

This is something I never anticipated when I was younger and wanted to be as far away from my home town as possible! 🤷♀️ I live half a mile from my parents' current home, which is where I lived as a teen. I also live half a mile from the house they owned before that. (We moved 4.5 blocks to a larger home when I was a tween.) DH lives zero miles, because we purchased his childhood home. It wasn't maintained much at all over the decade before we bought it, so we have a project on our hands, now, but I always wanted an older home, and he is happy to have his home in the family, so it all worked out. I actually know a handful of former classmates who live in their childhood homes, now. Some never left, some moved in when their parents needed help, or passed away, but some were like us and purchased them when their parent(s) wished to downsize.

About 35 miles. It is about 50 to 60 minutes. My parents still live there so I still go home a lot.
It is funny because I think I refer to both my childhood home and my condo both as home. When I go there, I am going home but when I leave I am also coming home. 😆

32 miles. I couldn’t afford to live in my hometown and absolutely would never have afforded my own home there. I live in my late husband’s hometown. My youngest brother bought our childhood home.

I live about 20 miles from my childhood home. My dad told us how mom cried when they moved there, because it was so far from her mom and extended family. It was 2 miles!

Technically, it would be about zero as I was born in Dallas but moved to Tacoma when I was 6 months old. I consider Tacoma my hometown as I lived there most of my life so the distance would be 2,088 miles.

My very first house, which was my mother's childhood home, and my grandfather's childhood home, would be 13 miles from my current home if it was still standing, but alas, it was torn down. The house was still fine to live in, but it fell to one of the dangers of being located on the main street of a busy town---it's now a parking lot.
