6/3. Sunday was our final day open to the public and the store is officially closed. Mixed feelings, but mostly just relief at this point. br] Update: holy cow. Today was our first day liquidation and it was BONKERS. I’ve never seen a team of employees run their butts off so hard….we’re exhausted! They’re amazing. OP: 🥺😢 I am totally heartbroken. I manage a large, locally owned craft store. They’re closing three of their 7 locations, and my store is on the closeout list. I’ve known for a couple of weeks, but they just made the news public. We expect to be out of the building by the middle of May. [

I am sorry. That is too bad. Sad to see any locally owned businesses close, but especially a craft store.

That’s really sad. I love independent craft stores and all the ones around me have closed up too.

Oh no, sad! I always swing into the Vancouver store on my way from Washington to Oregon to visit my daughter's family. So sorry you are losing your job.

Salem, Beaverton (my store) and Mill Plain Vancouver My in-laws used to live in Beaverton, and that store was my MIL’s “go-to” store for her stamping stuff. I’m sorry to hear this news.

OH my goodness! Years ago back when the world was young and I was climbing the corporate ladder I worked for Silk Greenhouse and got caught up in a huge 150 store shutdown at Christmas time but we didn't have much warning at all. It was awful because we had sold our home and moved to Oregon to manage a new store. Luckily I got hired into a MIT program. I actually used to work at the Craft Warehouse in Gresham when it was still a Ben Franklin owned by Jeson Enterprises and a part of Sierra Pacific Crafts. After I left because of DH's health I used to see Rob and Greg at the HIA shows for a few years. Very small world.

I'm sorry to hear of another craft store closing, and more loss of jobs. When I visited my brother in Idaho last Sept, I think that's the craft store we went to close to him--big, wonderful selection of products with helpful staff. I told the lady in the fabric department that I wish I could trade one of our not-so-great chain stores for them.
