I love having fresh flowers around. My late DH didn't understand how much I love them, so he never bought them.
I decided after he passed and I moved into my townhouse, that I would buy myself flowers every week. I buy them at the supermarket, Costco, or flower shop. Wherever I'm out and about, I buy the flowers.
I deserve them. I make it part of my budget. I realize that is not an option for everyone.

Once in awhile I buy them for myself. Usually at the grocery store.

I love tulips and buy those for myself when they’re in season.

Absolutely, if I only waited to have them when someone else gifted them to me I would very rarely have any. I love flowers.

I do not. My late husband would buy them for me early on, but to me it was a waste of money so I asked him to stop. He made up for 20 years of my "no flowers rule" at our wedding. It was totally intentional and it made me laugh so much because I knew exactly what he was doing. Touche, Stephen, touche!

I often will do the 3 bouquets for $15 or whatever the grocery store sale is and some baby’s breath. You can do a nice vase or 3. 😄. If I will be seeing my parents or sister in law I will give them some also.

Good for you! I do occasionally. Usually from Trader Joe's or a roadside stand. For me its more a spur of the moment thing, like if a color or a particular flower catches my eye.

Maybe once a year I'll buy a bouquet of flowers from Trader Joe's. My husband will buy me flowers probably once a year, and he knows that I prefer from Trader Joe's. I like a good deal.

DH is usually the one bringing flowers in, but since he's been in hospital I buy some myself when I have the chance. There is a guy at the grocery store who is amazing at helping you put together groupings I'd never think of. He will arrange them on the paper and wrap them so I just come home and plop them in a vase. With his choices, I can usually get a couple of weeks out of a bouquet by watering every few days and removing individual flowers as they become spent. It's interesting to watch how it changes in looks over time.

It was totally intentional and it made me laugh so much because I knew exactly what he was doing. Touche, Stephen, touche! This was us too early on in our relationship. We were young and broke and didn’t have the disposable income for any of that. As much as I like them, my practical side will always win out. My concession now is that he buys me hanging baskets with flowering plants for the house and flowering plants for the lake cabin rain garden (perennials preferred). I won’t buy them for myself but I have on occasion bought them for DD when she has had school performances, solos, etc.

crazy4scraps I think most of us Minnesotans love our potted flowering plants in the summer. I love going to the local nursery near me and finding flowers for my screen porch. I often go back around the 4th of July and buy another pot at 1/2 off.

I plant annuals and perennials outside every year plus the rose bushes and camellias. I always have flowers o cut when I want them from late February to September or October. And they are always pet friendly and edible my dog and cats will eat whatever because they just will!

If I didn't buy them for myself I'd never get them. I just bought some last week. Split them into 3 bundles, for the kitchen counter, kitchen table and for the bathroom.
I buy them the most between January and May. Summer brings green grass and leaves and outside flowers, picking flowers from the garden to bring in. I might grab a bundle in October. I decorate for Christmas in December so the house is cluttered enough. Then January comes and it's so bare and so much winter is left that it's time for a pick me up.

I don't buy myself flowers. I would rather treat myself to scrapbook products or my favorite fancy chocolates from See's Candy.

I do occasionally buy myself grocery store flowers. Dh always gets excited when I buy flowers, but it doesn't occur to him to ever buy them.

I buy them a few times a year, but I usually cut flowers or herbs from my garden and use those. Right now I have a row of small vases on the table that have Rosemary stems in them. It’s just greenery but sometimes I like the simplicity of it.

DH knows I love flowers and will bring home bouquets often. And I often buy them myself. Trader Joe's always has a lovely selection. Way back when I was a poor student working at a gym, a new member asked if I liked flowers. He worked at a major hotel where the bouquets were changed out every couple days and hated to see the "old" flowers tossed, so would rescue and distribute them.

mikklynn, I'm so glad you do that for yourself! When I stop at WM for groceries, I always think about buying myself flowers but never do. When my mom was still here, she would always send me flowers for special occasions or for no reason at all. I miss that. Like giatocj, we were young and broke and DH sent me roses. I made the mistake of saying we could have used that money to pay bills. He's never sent me flowers again.

I am pretty picky about the flowers I want in my house, but he will occasionally see something he thinks I'd like. Springtime at our farmer's market is my favorite time to get them though.
