Did you all check out some of the other stories linked below that one on that site? It’s like a revolving door of horrible deplorable people! 😳

This makes me so sick. I guess it lets them avoid accepting they made a horrifying decision that cost one of their children their life.

I saw that interview and was dumbstruck. To have your child die, and then say the measles are not so bad--I have no words for that woman.

I am sorry if this has been mentioned before it I saw a meme that said:
There are more measles cases in Texas than there are Transgender athletes in college. Why are we still talking about transgender athletes when people are dying?

Interesting... The Pastor for the Mennonite Community says there are no restrictions about vaccines. It is a personal choice.

Interesting... The Pastor for the Mennonite Community says there are no restrictions about vaccines. It is a personal choice. Yes. I posted an article to that effect way back at the beginning of this thread. It’s never been about their religion. These particular vax deniers have been influenced somewhere other than their church. In deep red west Texas, I’m sure there are no shortage of folks spreading misinformation.

I just can't even stomach these types of people who think that things like this are God's will. But then again, I lost my child in what was either a tragic accident or an intentional action on her part. I will never accept that this loss of life was something premeditated by any kind of God. It was sheer tragedy that I would have prevented had I could. I'm not willing to hear the "better place" or "God's will" crap. My faith remains shaken.

Why are we still talking about transgender athletes when people are dying? Because if there is one thing the republican party loves, it is a buzzword or catchphrase. Their voters eat it up. "Her emails" "Benghazi" "Sleepy Joe" "FJB" AND ON AND ON AND ON

According to a news release from TCPH, the person visited Great Wolf Lodge, located at 100 Great Wolf Drive, between early Friday, March 28 and Sunday, March 30. TCPH said the person also walked around Grapevine Mills Mall and ate at the food court on Saturday, March 29. "If you were at either of these locations during the specified dates and are not vaccinated against measles or are unsure of your immunity, you may be at risk of contracting measles," TCPH said in the news release. TCPH said that it is working with the Texas Department of Health Services Regional Office and others to monitor the situation.

And she was a child of age to be vaccinated. I am angry at her parents who failed her, but my heart breaks for a little girl who will never get to grow up.

Some likely too young to be vaccinated. I swear to God if I lived in an area with low vaccination rates I don't know how comfortable I would be taking an infant out and about in certain places. As a grandma of a less than 1 year old I am so glad they live in a solid blue area where vax rates are high. I know it is not a guarantee they won't be exposed, but at least it gives a relative feeling of safety. I understand there are risks anytime you simply exist, but to me this is like letting your child ride in a car without a seatbelt. I mean the chances are very low they're going to be in a car accident but you still put them in a car seat.

I'm in Tarrant county (and agree it is generally very red over here), but grew up in Dallas and would say parts of Dallas and most of Collin County (just north of Dallas - the big, wealthier suburbs) are still pretty red. I wish it was not the case, but it is. Some of the biggest anti-vaxers I know live in Dallas and are easily pulled into the "social influencer anti-vax, we know better than doctors" mindset. So I worry for the entire DFW area and the impact this news and exposer will have. I was just sick to my stomach when I saw the news earlier this week. This is just a few suburbs away from me also. GW Lodge is always covered in people so I am sure expose happened. I was talking to my mom a few weeks ago about my own vaccination history (since I am in my 50s and don't have any of that paper work) and she told me she knows for sure I got the measles vax. Grateful for that.

I know that when my niece was teaching in Tarrant County last year, they had to deal with the Patriot Mobile people taking over the school board so my opinion is probably tainted by that. Also, when I was going through my medical malpractice case, my lawyer wanted it filed in Dallas country as opposed to Tarrant county where is occurred because Dallas County was more favorable to plaintiffs.

Oh gosh, the school board situation in North Tarrant County is horrific - I feel for your niece. mom 's post makes me wonder if the rise in measles cases here will some how impact Texas or US residents ability to travel overseas. Will we end up needing proof of vaccination? I know I don't have any of my childhood vax records, but I do have them for my kids. I had not thought about that until I read the article about our elimination designation being removed. It never would have occurred to me that we would be seen as a possible risk to other countries because of exposure....

It is being reported that JFKJr is flying to Texas to attend her funeral tomorrow.

I’m sorry to hear that mom. I’m in Plano, we’ve wondered how long before cases started appearing. Shameful considering it’s spring break season. We were at a restaurant near Grandscape (The Colony) yesterday. The area was packed even though it is cold. Judging by car tags there were a lot of Oklahoma visitors. The same would have been true for Great Wolf, it’s so easy to spread to other areas.

Kind of a side note: I've been watching The Pitt on Max (medical show set in an ER) and one of the story lines involved a young boy brought to the ER after he lost consciousness and his little sister called 911. Presented with a rash, and nobody but the most experienced ER doc (Noah Wylie) ID'd it as measles. The parents were finally found and it turned out Mom was a vaccine denier and was refusing the spinal tap the docs were recommending in order to save his life, saying, "Let's wait and see..."
Noah Wylie launched into a preachy but fucking necessary lecture on all the terrible things that could happen to her son without treatment (for the mom and the tv watching public). Not usually in favor of preachiness in my tv dramas, but was glad to see this one.

Me too, it's good to give your child daily supplemental pills which can possibly help, rather than 1-2 vaccines that are almost 100% preventative? ? And unless theyre stuffing their kids with an profuse amount of greens I assume the vitamins are manufactured synthetics, not "as God made them.

It got me wondering how I could prove I'd had my shots. I know some have been updated in motherhood and on current records. Where is my original card? My mother gave it to me decades ago and I wondered why, and didn't protect it. Naive
