If you wear glasses, you will have to pop the lens of your glasses for the first eye that they operate on. You may have 2 weeks of recovery, then they will do the 2nd eye. That 2 week period was annoying to me because I was dealing with 2 different visions. But maybe I had to wait 2 weeks because I had Glaucoma surgery at the same time.
The surgery doesn't hurt at all. They gave me Versed to chill me out and I was awake the entire time. I'm glad I did it, even though it was a couple weeks of struggling with the different vision.
There are actually 4 different lenses you can choose from for cataracts. I recommend getting the one where you won't need glasses anymore. It was totally worth it for me!
I opted for the best lens which allows me to not need any correction supposedly for life. They did make my dominant eye better for distance. I see so much better and I love not having to depend on glasses or contacts.
With that said, I may have them tweak my right eye. I do have what I call a lightning bolt when looking at lights a night. Thankfully my left eye doesn’t do that. My night vision seems better but not while looking at lights.
I think my eyes are more sensitive and get a bit dry. I haven’t tried drops yet. I don’t want it to be something I must do. Sometimes it feels like I have contacts in tired eyes. I have a very weak pair of readers that I sometimes use when I’m really tired or the light is dim.
If I had to do it over, I’d do the same thing. II can’t wait to swim and be able to see. Lol I don’t feel eye strain. My eyes are working together.
My first eye was the easiest surgery. I’m not sure my left eye was as numb as it should have been. It was uncomfortable and I know they added a bit more meds.
