Thanks so much for the birthday wishes ~ I feel much loved this morning.

I'm leaving for AquaFit in a few minutes then DS will arrive for the weekend around 10:30ish. We'll head to Early Toast for brunch and have Chicken Pot Pie for dinner. Easy Peasy!

Early this week, I had plans to go on the train up to Augsburg - about 45 minutes away to a craft fair, but yesterday I decided I was too tired and that I don’t really need anymore craft supplies, so I stayed home. All I’ve done today is a grocery run and some house stuff, like filling and setting up the dishwasher which I forgot to do last night.

Dinner here is going to be homemade pizza. It will be topped with vegetables as it’s Friday so no meat.

Please keep my niece and her family in your thoughts. Cyclone Alfred is due to hit land in the next few hours. They are not in its direct path, but it is still going to come very close and they are expecting to loose power and get a lot of rain.

We had a short visit with DS this morning. He came over to pick up a few things to take to the dump. We have garbage pickup here but it doesn’t take larger items. DS lives outside of town so he has a dump pass to use for his garbage. He makes a weekly trip and is good enough to take stuff for us when needed.

DH has gone into the city to buy a new barbeque cover and visit a buddy, so I’m just relaxing at home.

Supper will be a ginormous salad.

Happy Friday! Finally, I have made it to the thread to post!   It's been a wild week and lots going on.   Today is an 'at home' day and nothing pressing on the calendar so my plans are to catch up here and then do some sewing this afternoon.  Finally having lunch with my BFF next week and need to get her birthday gift sewn up.  This has turned into our annual Christmas lunch, her Jan. birthday lunch and my March birthday lunch all rolled into one.   So looking forward to catching up with her.  

Things are moving along with DH's rehab.  He's getting 3 days a week in with his trainer and the outpatient PT starts on March 20 (twice a week for up to 2 months).  He is so close to standing so hopefully this will be the extra push he needs.   The strength is there, just have to get his mind to let go.  Next week he has his quarterly PET scan and we are hoping for good results.   I did cancel all the services from the home health care service the insurance was providing.  They were not helpful and were awful about scheduling, as well as not showing up.  The private care we have has been great so we are sticking with that.  

cadoodlebug - Happy Birthday!  I always forget you are another March birthday! 

Dinner tonight will be sliders and french fries.  Now I'm off to catch up on the last 2 days of dinner threads.   

I have yeast dough rising and will be making meat buns and with leftover dough, some cinnamon buns.

Tearisci ~ I am curious as to why the rehab where your mom is, isn't checking her sugars regularly.  Are they not responsible for her entire health care. Take some time to look after yourself.

So after getting stiffed twice with furniture delivery, I decided to just replace the cushions on my couch for now until I can find someplace that’s in stock. We have a foam store,for lack of a better word, nearby. So I took one of my cushions down there today and they measured it. I will have two new cushions by Wednesday for under $100. Yay me

Dinner will be shrimp and garlic butter over some kind of pasta.

I’m scrapbooking tomorrow with three friends at one of their churches. I need to finish up my youngest great nieces album.

Doing a quick type by! I had to run home and meet the plumber. Every faucet in my house was leaking or some other issue. Got those all taken care of. He even fixed the sprayer but not really on the kitchen sink. As he was leaving, he told me I basically need a new faucet for the kitchen. While he fixed something in the sprayer, it now leaks every time you turn the water on. Which it was not doing before. So thank you? But all the others are done. I can't wait to see the water bill next month. Not just drip drips but full on trickle. So much so that when it was so blooming cold in the last month, I didn't have to worry about any of those faucets freezing. So I get to look for a new faucet that won't break the bank. Literally!

The dog that has been having GI issues has decided he needs attention again. So I called the vet this morning to see about another round of meds. "Well, the vet will do that for the weekend but they want to see him again for bloodwork. Let's see, the soonest I can get you in is the 20th. So you are only going to give meds for the weekend but you can't see me for almost 2 weeks? Am I understanding this correctly? "Well, I will tell the vet when your appt is and we will call you when the meds are ready." Haven't gotten that call yet.

I am going home to do a good scrubby scrub to the tub and just do a good cleaning on all the bathrooms this afternoon. Do a bit of straightening up in the house. Settle down to look at some fun bills and paperwork. Cancel Sirius and do that dance and then look into canceling Dish.

So for all that fun, I am going to go buy myself a good filet and a baking potato. I deserve a good dinner to end the week. I'll give a better view of the thread when I finish up chores.

I really hope things improve. 

Hoping they only deal with the most minor storm impact.

scrapmaven , to answer your question yesterday, our cruise can't be rescheduled this year. Between the schedules of the four of us, the destination and a specific port stop (my birth place) things were narrowed down to basically one week and it was kind of a miracle for it to come together. I'm also going to miss a niece's wedding in May and it broke my heart to tell my sis this morning. 

Things are moving fast, but with a bit of 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I've opted for a clinical trial and was able to get through the intake paperwork and start pretrial testing yesterday hoping to fast track a March 21st start date. Then got the news this morning that I can't start until April 3 because I have to be at least 4 weeks post any treatment (had immunotherapy Wed) to participate.

Making a list of things I want/need to get done in the next month. Dinner will be chili. It is easy and perfect for a cold, gray day.

I'll admit that I feel worse today than I have in days!   

I went to get bloodwork done and it was really hot in there ... had to wait more than 50 minutes ... then she couldn't get enough from my vein ... had to try again - success ... then I felt faint.  

I sat there for awhile and had some water ...

Outside was beautifully cool!   

Now I feel worn out!   

I really hope that my levels are not low again!    

I just went out with dh skiing for a few hours. bright sunny sky..not too crowded.

making salmon for dinner with salad. this weekend, dh is participating in the fundraising race and party for the local accessible recreation non profit that got him on his ski bike.. he is participating in the race on sunday.. a team with him on the bike, a visually impaired person, someone on a sit ski, etc.. lots of fun.. mostly an excuse to raise lots of money and give opportunities for others. the person leading it is muffy davis.. who earned an olympic medal in para skiing.. now she competes in para biking..

it is my son's birthday today.. can't believe he is 38.

And the filet didn't pan out. Ha, look at me being punny! I went to the store and they only had pre-cut filets, 2 packages, 2 in each package. Rang the bell and asked for a single cut. The young guy grabbed the butcher. They have a quiet convo in front of the 2 packages. "No, I can't cut any, we're out in the back." Well, I only need 1 steak, looking at the 2 pack in front of us. Thinking maybe they would just take one of the packs, open, split up the pair, repack singularly and price label it up. Nope. So I looked at the butcher and said fine, I'll just go down to the "other store" and have them cut me a single filet. I hear their meat is really good! Once in the car, I remembered i had steak tips in the freezer and made garlic butter steak bites with peppers and onions. So not the filet but still good.

It went ok, he says everything looks good i still have one week of prescription eye drops, he says my eye will stop hurting as much when they are finished, my eye is very dry he says and keep using over the counter eye drops too. We shall see. My other eye has a cataract too but it's not bad enough for surgery yet he says.
