I’m curious if there have been raids at packing plants? I haven’t heard of any. A commentator on a show I was watching the other day said he was from close to my home town in Iowa and they hadn’t had raids there because Tyson and other owners of packing plants have a lot of swag with Trump. Wondering if that is accurate.

Wondering if that is accurate. Not a packing plant, but there was a raid at a paint shop in El Cajon, a city on the east side of San Diego county. I guess it is probably not big enough to have any clout with Trump. The city is about 35% Republican.

UPDATE on Ukrainian situation...Just another example of CRUELTY INFLICTED by FF!! Karoline Leavitt claims emails sent in error!! No apologies for inflicted terror suffered by those who received them!! WASHINGTON — Unknown numbers of Ukrainians received emails by mistake from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security saying their humanitarian protected status was being revoked and they would have to leave the United States within days, the agency said Friday. “A message was sent in error to some Ukrainians under the U4U program. The U4U parole program has not been terminated,” a DHS spokesperson told States Newsroom, referring to the Uniting for Ukraine program. *** White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in early March denied that the Trump administration was revoking protections for Ukrainians. The truth: no decision has been made at this time,” Leavitt wrote on social media. www.rawstory.com/trump-administration-says-emails-sent-in-error-ordering-ukrainians-to-leave-the-u-s/

www.cbsnews.com/news/what-records-show-about-migrants-sent-to-salvadoran-prison-60-minutes-transcript/60 minutes last night showed that 75% of those deported to perpetual slave labor and inhumane conditions in El Salvador have no criminal record. The Trump administration claims they are "terrorists," but the details that have emerged about many of them show that there is no evidence or even a rational reason to believe this. The Trump administration refuses to provide its evidence, even to federal judges with the security clearance to view it. It's all just Tom Homan saying, "Trust me, bro."
Some details about the CECOT prison where these mostly innocent men are being sent, without due process of law and likely without possibility of ever being released.

Well, Justice Roberts has blocked the order to have Garcia returned by today. Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts has temporarily blocked a court order requiring President Donald Trump's administration to return a Maryland man who was illegally deported to a high-security prison in El Salvador.Trump's Department of Justice filed an emergency appeal on Monday morning after a federal judge ruled that Kilmar Abrego Garcia be returned to the United States. Roberts granted an emergency stay of the order on Monday afternoon. "IT IS ORDERED that the April 4, 2025 order of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, case No. 8:25-cv-951, is hereby stayed pending further order of the undersigned or of the Court," Roberts' order said.Solicitor General John Sauer argued that U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis exceeded his authority by ordering Garcia's return. The Trump administration has admitted that the deportation was an "administrative error" and a "clerical error." www.rawstory.com/trump-deportation-2671687437/

Follow up to ROBERTS!! A legal expert added some much-needed context to a ruling by Chief Justice John Roberts regarding a Maryland man mistakenly deported as a "criminal" to a prison in El Salvador, despite evidence. Roberts ruled Monday to temporarily block a court order that would have required the Trump administration to return 29-year-old Kilmar Abrego García to the U.S. by 11:59 p.m. Monday. The Justice Department then filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court, leading to the Roberts decision. For now, Garcia will remain in El Salvador. New York Civil Rights attorney Andrew C. Laufer, Esq. explained on X, "It’s a typical procedural stay. Don’t look too much into it," but some social media users on the left expressed their outrage. www.rawstory.com/supreme-court-2671687442/

Even poor high school students from Nicaragua are not immune from the Trump /MAGA reign of terror. They were here legally, followed all the rules and now are being given days to leave or face deportation. So much love for the welfare and pledge that every child’s life is important…oh wait is that only is some cases or certain children? 🙄 2 high school students told to leave or will be deported

....and more... Earlier this month, a federal district court ordered the government to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return to the U.S. by April 7. On Thursday, the conservative-leaning Supreme Court partially granted and denied the government's application seeking relief from the district court's injunction. Chief Justice Roberts issued an administrative stay vacating the deadline imposed by the district court, but the lower court's order remained largely intact. The high court, however, said the order requires clarification on its scope, particularly regarding the term "effectuate." "The order properly requires the Government to 'facilitate' Abrego Garcia's release from custody in El Salvador and to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador," the ruling said. "The intended scope of the term 'effectuate' in the District Court's order is, however, unclear and may exceed the District Court's authority." Liberal-leaning Justice Sonia Sotomayor, joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, emphasized that Abrego Garcia's removal lacked legal basis and violated prior orders. www.rawstory.com/kilmar-abrego-garcia/

Just out.. appeal will be filed!! Immigration judge rules that Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil can be deported JENA, La. (AP) — Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil can be deported as a national security risk, an immigration judge in Louisiana ruled Friday during a hearing over the legality of kicking the activist who participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations out of the U.S. Immigration Judge Jamee E. Comans said at the conclusion of a hearing in Jena that the government’s contention that Khalil’s presence in the United States posed “potentially serious foreign policy consequences” was enough to satisfy requirements for his deportation. Comans said the government had “established by clear and convincing evidence that he is removable.” Lawyers for Khalil are expected to appeal. And a federal judge in New Jersey has temporarily barred Khalil’s removal from the country.Khalil, a legal U.S. resident, was detained by federal immigration agents on March 8 in the lobby of his university-owned apartment, the first arrest under President Donald Trump’s promised crackdown on students who joined campus protests against the war in Gaza. www.yahoo.com/news/immigration-judge-rules-columbia-university-200342735.html

Erik Prince has resurfaced. He has visited the WH, offering FF a way to claim part of Central America a Territory of the USA for a place to have a prison for the deported. The word is cruelty!! *** Military contractors pitched a novel way to facilitate mass deportations — simply designate part of a Central American maximum security prison as U.S. territory, Politico reported Friday afternoon. Former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince and a group of defense contractors unveiled their plan to Donald Trump's White House on how they could help greatly expand deportations to El Salvador, according to the report. *** The new proposal also targets “criminal illegal aliens” and seeks to circumvent U.S. immigration laws by designating part of the prison as U.S. territory. It wasn't immediately clear if the White House was receptive to the plan, which the report noted could prove highly "lucrative" for Prince and his team.www.rawstory.com/cecot/

This fucking guy. Now he’s floating a plan to bring those undocumented workers back because it turns out we need them! But now they have to weigh returning against the possibility dear leader will decide next week that their sons are gang members and send them, without any due process, to a hell prison in El Salvador. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna200722

From Heather Cox Richardson yesterday, re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
The Trump administration also reported yesterday that it has disappeared 10 more people to El Salvador. Given the flimsy evidence they have used to declare others "gang members" in their desire to terrorize the immigrant population, and the undisputed fact that Abrego Garcia was deported in error, we have no reason to believe that these 10 were any danger to the United States. A truthful government would be transparent about who they're sending and what evidence they have. It would grant each person to be deported their due process under our laws, with a judge examining evidence for the removal of each one.
As long as we tolerate anything less, we are conceding that in the supposed land of the free, with liberty and justice for all, some people simply have more rights than others. And this president feels he gets to decide who has which rights. At this point, he is the lawless criminal. He has made himself king.

I said before we are next.... President Donald Trump told El Salvador's president Nayib Bukele to build more prisons to hold U.S. citizens. The U.S. president declared his willingness last week to send Americans to a notorious prison where his administration has sent alleged gang members – as well as a Maryland man who was deported by mistake – and he was caught on video urging Bukele to get ready for "homegrown criminals" to join them behind bars.*** "I love that," Trump said. "If we could take some of our 20 time wise guys that push people into subways and hit people over the back of the head and purposely run people over in cars, if he would take them, I would be honored to give them." *** "Homegrown criminals are next," Trump told Bukele. "I said homegrowns are next, homegrowns are next. You've got to build about five more places. It's not big enough."*** “I don't know what the law says on that," he added. "I'm all for it. If they can house these horrible criminals for a lot less money than it costs us, I’m all for it.” www.rawstory.com/will-trump-deport-american-citizens/

Crisis ..?? Jacob Levy, Tomlinson Professor of Political Theory at McGill University, cautioned in a Blue Sky thread that the case involving a Maryland man the U.S. government acknowledges was "wrongfully deported" has reached a "crisis moment." In March, Kilmar Ábrego García was accused of being an MS-13 gang member and deported to El Salvador along with others whom the U.S government alleged were dangerous. The deportation was carried out despite a U.S. judge telling the government that it could not deport García to El Salvador. During a press conference with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele on Monday, the Associated Press reported that Trump passed the buck to Attorney General Pam Bondi, who said she would "facilitate" García's return by ensuring a plane was available. Bukele, however, said he would not release a terrorist to the U.S. "I had been doubtful that we were going to have a 'this is the crisis moment' with Trump, as opposed to 'everything about this is a destructive catastrophe.' But the Abrego Garcia case is the crisis moment," wrote Levy in response. An firm, open commitment to the destruction of habeas corpus — the creation of a new rule that says anyone the administration orders ICE to seize can be shoved onto a flight to a torture prison in another country and there's nothing any US court can do about it— destroys constitutionalism," he alleged. "The fact that the administration is, *at the same time,* announcing an intention to include US citizens in the shipments to El Salvador makes it all the more plain and open — but the rule they're embracing in the Ábrego García case already includes citizens by implication," Levy continued. www.rawstory.com/trump-deportation-2671767128/

To me, it sounds like it's ONLY to get them out of the country and make it more difficult for the actual LAWFUL due-process events to take place. Otherwise, shouldn't he be giving his buddies running the for-profit prisons the extra business? (I hate this timeline.) Even criminals have rights under our laws. Not that Trump cares about that. ^^^ he only cared about it when the criminal in question was HIMSELF. Boy, THEN, he was all about due process, and the benefits of following the law till its bitter end. But not for anyone else.

Oh and yes, El Salvador because then the human rights abuses (and civil rights abuses under our laws) are out of sight, out of mind. None of them will ever be released. No family visits, no media investigations, just a black hole into which he can toss anyone he doesn't like.
