Good Morning. How is everyone doing today? teddyw, how is your dh feeling today? Tearisci, how is your family doing? leannec, are you feeling even better today? I hope so. ntsf, how's your boo-boo? I'm really bummed for you that you can't ski for a while. jeremysgirl, how is your ankle/foot? Today I don't have anything planned. I'll knit and rest. This thing hit my airways just a bit, which is normal when I catch a cold.
Dh has teriyaki chicken for dinner.
What are you doing today? What's on your menu? Healing wishes for all who need them and may today be peaceful, easy and fulfilling.

Happy Tuesday!
Mom had a good day yesterday and I'm going to take her lunch today and visit. It's nice having her close and I'm hoping that this is the facility that they will both be in for long-term care.
We're navigating medical long-term medicaid as that looks to be what they will need to go on for this facility. They have some savings that we'll need to figure out what to do with and a few more hoops to jump through but I think we have a plan.
Dinner tonight will be roasted chicken. I got a pre-marinated one at the store so it should be fairly easy to fix.
Hope you all have a great day!

My foot is better, so much better than it was last week. Also, my boss let me work from home today which I am glad of because I have to walk 4 blocks from my parking spot to my office. The joys of working downtown. Today I don't have anything planned. I'll knit and rest. This thing hit my airways just a bit, which is normal when I catch a cold. I am sad to hear that this cold is progressing a bit. But glad you get to rest as much as you need to. ntsf, how's your boo-boo? I'm really bummed for you that you can't ski for a while. I was surprised this morning to read of your accident ntsf. That is not fun, especially to get injured doing something you really love to do. Best wishes for quick healing so you can get back out there. We ended up having taco salad last night. The choice was pretty much dictated by the burger that needed to be cooked. It was good. It's been quite a while since I've had anything like that. Jeremy seemed to enjoy it too. I'm going to check on the state of my cabbage and determine whether that needs to be cooked tonight. I'm tired. I haven't slept well in days now, but I was up at 4 so I got online at 5:30 and I'll log off at 2. Maybe I'll be able to rest a little this afternoon. I'm trying to decide what to read next as I finished my book last night.

Good afternoon all, I woke up to a lovely sunny day and was excited to go out early for a walk, until I checked the outside temperature - 2C, which is just above freezing. Instead, I turned on YouTube after breakfast and cleaning and sat with my knitting, watching knitting and food videos. I managed to get the main part of a little hat for upcoming grandbaby finished - it just needs little bear ears for cuteness! By the time I’d finished lunch it was warm enough to venture out, so I went g do or a longer than usual walk - one I was doing regularly last year before my brain surgery. I’m hoping as the weather gets more pleasant I’ll be able to keep extending the distance and time I’m able to manage. Mt peaceful ‘don’t have to do anything’ week is now over - I received a message from the leader of our after school care group just as I got back from my walk, asking if I could come in tomorrow to cover for an illness. With luck, it will just be tomorrow and I won’t be needed the rest of the week. Tearisci - I hope all works out and you can settle your parents into the care facility. Dinner tonight is most likely chickpea and aubergine curry. DH wasn’t sure if he was eating out tonight - his boss is visiting from Sweden for a couple of days - if he’s home, it’s curry. If not, I’ll eat the leftover beef and Guinness stew from last night.

its colder and sunny today.. dh went out on his ski bike.
my leg feels much better. I am being a good girl and icing my bruise and not doing much
for dinner, I don't know. we do have left over roasted chicken from dinner last night. It was kind of a sad dinner. my friend's wife has gone downhill due to dementia. she didn't eat, drank a bit and fell asleep 1/2 through dinner. our friend is so kind and caring. but this is always hard to see. they are hear to see the world cup ski races too.

Good morning! It's a short day in the office for me today. I have a doctor's appt this afternoon. I'll leave a bit earlier than I need to run by the house and let the puppers out. Then on the road for appt. After that, I am hoping to run by Costco, Trader Joe's for flowers and Aldi for a sourdough loaf. I don't know why but their's is so good. I haven't found any local to compare it with. So I alway have a round in the fridge. Then home. Not sure on dinner. I have eaten takeway for the last 2 days. I would really like to not do that tonight. But will I actually feel like cooking when I get home. Plus, I have to make dog food tonight. So, maybe I will pick up some sushi. Dh has teriyaki chicken for dinner I saw a Tiktok video of a lady I follow making teriyaki chicken. It looked so good. I made a mental note to make it later this week. Please continue to rest. Mom had a good day yesterday and I'm going to take her lunch today and visit. It's nice having her close and I'm hoping that this is the facility that they will both be in for long-term care It is nice having them close. I hope she has more better days than not good days. I'm feeling better everyday! Yay to this! jeremysgirl I pulled my cookbook last night to tag the stew page. As I was reading the recipe, I thought I had made this exact one. When I saw quinoa I realized no. However, I have made one very similar and it was so good. This one will definitely get made. I'm sorry you are not resting well. I've been resting ok but man, those dreams have ramped up in the last week. Not sure what is going on with that. sueg I read your posts and just find them fascinating at times. What it must be like to live in another country and live their life. There is a girl I catch every now and then on TT. She does funny takes on having a German mom. The "mom" always talks about getting out and getting fresh air. A walk is the best thing for you. When I read about you walking to this shop and that shop, her videos pop up in my mind. Happy Birthday KelleeM!! We have St Patrick's Day cupcakes here in the office. The ladies Bible Study left them with us after last night. I am saving mine for after the doctor's visit. I need any extra weight on me when I get on that scale. I had been the lowest weight in quite some time on Jan 28. I was so happy. Then DH passed and food was being brought over to the house. I stopped eating plant based and the whole thing just blew up in my face. Trying to get back to that lifestyle again. But after a cupcake in the morning.

KelleeM , wishing you a very Happy Birthday! May your year be filled w/joyous moments and lots of laughter. Happy Birthday!
leannec , it's nice to read that you're feeling so much better. This has gone on way too long.
Tearisci , I'll think good thoughts that your plan works well and that your mom is settled very soon. I'm sure that will help everyone be able to relax a bit.
ntsf , rest your leg and you'll be back on the slopes in no time. Might I suggest hot cocoa as a healer? Or Baileys and coffee. Ahem!
naby64 , you have very good reason to have veered from your food lifestyle for a bit. I'm sure your doctor will understand. As you begin to heal you can incorporate new recipes into your menu.
jeremysgirl , I'm bummed to read that you're not sleeping well. I hope that you can do something relaxing after work today and sleep well tonight.
sueg , I listen to your daily updates about the shops and I, so wish I could visit these lovely places. Enjoy your knitting and rest well.

Happy Birthday KelleeM ! I know you were celebrated the other night by karenlou and her DH. I'll run errands in a few minutes ~ the sun is finally shining. DH had a 7:30 tee time so we're going to see Black Bag this afternoon. I have a free popcorn for my birthday this month that I'll give to DH. I'm stopping by Costco and if they have black cod, I have a new recipe to try.

naby64 there is no quinoa in the red lentil Thai chili. KelleeM happy birthday!!! Well, shoot, I guess I looked at the wrong recipe. I'll look again. Thanks! ETA: Yeah, wrong recipe all together. I was just going on red lentils and stopped at that one. I'll need to grab the book tonight and re-mark. But I do have all the ingredients except red kidney beans. I just don't like those. Maybe I will sub cannellini beans. Wonder if that would make a difference in taste?

I was never a drinker, but I did have a Bailey's and coffee now and then during college. It tasted like peppermint hot cocoa. Apart from that I never liked alcohol, so I was always the designated driver.
I hope that you'll heal faster than your brother, so that you can still enjoy some good time on the slopes.

Dinner here will be pork chops, baked potatoes and choice of green vegetable. Waiting patiently for the plumber to arrive, we have been without heat or hot water since sunday afternoon.....He was supposed to show up yesterday...that didn't happen. At my urging DH called this am....promised to be here today. We shall see... He should be in and out....just replacing 3 valves...that should have been done a month ago.....would have avoided the current situation!!
My laptop has been acting up , this is my third attempt at replying....when all else fails reboot😳

KelleeM I hope your day is filled with love, happiness, and a big slice of cake!! naby64 Be easy on yourself. I am sure the doctor will understand if you have a couple of extra pounds. I just wanted to add that I don't like kidney beans either! When I was a kid, my cousin told me that they were not real beans, but actual kidneys made to look like beans! I just can't get past that!! Today's appointment is teeth cleaning. My hygienist is a real hoot. She went to school with my dh and his siters and she chats the entire time I am there!! jeremysgirl I am sorry to read that you have not been sleeping well. That really stinks. I am glad you get to work from home today though. Have you been back to the office since you told your boss that you have a hard time concentrating with the talking man next to you? leannec I am happy that you are feeling better!!!! Enjoy doing your laundry!! Are you watching any good shows? karenlou I hope your plumber shows up this morning! How cold has it gotten in your house? Dinner tonight here is breakfast. Not something I really want but dh said that it really sounded good. I need to stop at the grocery and get some fresh fruit and hashbrowns.

Happy Tuesday dinner friends! cadoodlebug I thought of you when our fridge went out over the weekend. I'm so thankful we have the garage fridge and freezer. I'm shocked at the short lifespan of appliances these days, Especially considering the cost. I keep saying that if it is only going to last 5-10 years, give me the cheapest most basic model. I wasn't aware of the EPA notifications. How ridiculous! Big Brother! leannec Glad to hear you're feeling better scrapmaven I hope the cold exits your chest quickly! KelleeM Happy happy Birthday!!! I hope it's filled with great things! ntsf How scary on your accident! I'm glad you didn't break anything! Tearisci I'm glad you are making progress on making arrangements for your parents. That has to be a relief! karenlou I hope your plumber is prompt and efficient! DH is on his way back from the ranch, He found out that a client passed away. She received an offer on her listing Sunday evening and didn't respond, he found that odd. Her friend called him yesterday to let him know. How tragic, her parents and brother passed away last year and we all chipped in to help her sell her parents and brothers houses, she also recently bought her dream home and just last week, listed the house she moved out of. She was 60 with no health issues at all and has 10 and 12 yr old daughters. she is a single mom and the friend doesn't think she had a will. SO SCARY!!! Her properties will likely be tied up in probate for a long time. DH and I going re evaluate our wills, pronto! Dinner is likely to be Taco Tuesday, I'm sort of tired of the taco's, but cooking is a pain w/o a fridge in the house. I know, first world problems! Wishing everyone a peaceful day!

I will be having something take out as the cleaners just left my place so sparkling clean. I don't want to mess up the kitchen as it is clean, so very clean. I have found that I am a much more relaxed person since having someone clean my place. I'm much more orderly, which I like. Happy Birthday KelleeM ~~ May you have a great year ahead of you. sueg, I am living vicariously through you as you live in Munich. I so wish that I was there. I have a German background and have visited Germany many times. When the plane lands and I hear the German language being spoken, I feel like I am home. German was my first language and I only spoke it for my first five years. Canada is beautiful but there is something about Germany. ntsf, that was quite the event that you had. I once fell off of a bike, on loose gravel and I had road rash and a huge bruise, from my thigh to my knee. Ouch. Feel better really soon. At least you have had a great season of skiing. naby64 ~~ You are sounding better. The dreams can be very wild after someone passes. It's coming up on the anniversary of my dd's death and I've had a few very doozy dreams of late. (((hugs))) jeremysgirl ~ So glad that you can work from home. Hope that you are healing as well.

Glad your collision wasn't worse, but sorry you are off the slopes for a couple weeks, ntsf . It really sounds like your family has had great advice in how to move forward with your parents, Tearisci . I'm sure it feels like a weight has lifted off your shoulders. Happy birthday, KelleeM! It is DH's birthday today, too, and he is off work. LOL, sort of, as he is busy making and taking calls for a current contract gig but plans to head out for a two hour bike ride. He wants an ice cream cake which has thrown me off because the two options (Baskin & Robbins and Stone Cold) we had in the neighborhood are no longer here. I know where there is a Dairy Queen not far, but can't remember ever seeing cakes there. Handel's seems to have taken over for ice cream here and I've never noticed cakes there either. His dinner request is homemade pizza, so I'll make an Italian sausage and mushroom along with the family favorite, Hawaiian. Pineapple does belong on pizza! I always like to surprise him with treats and was thrilled to find lamb skewer chips at an Asian grocery store.

Thank you all for the sweet birthday wishes! 💜 It’s been a regular work day, except I had a group of about 18 women sing to me this morning. Later my newly minted work husband sang to me as well (we had a quick ceremony yesterday at lunch with the leprechaun ring off of his cupcake!)
Dinner is chicken thighs in the air fryer. There’s asparagus and salad stuff in the fridge. We’ll see what DS decides to prepare. 😊

I loved doing the Survivor and Big Brother pools! That was so much fun! DH, DS and I won several times. And would have won the season when the 5 women convinced that poor guy that he would show allegiance by giving his immunity necklace to the women. I've been watching Deal or No Deal Island with Parvati. She and a winner from Survivor Australia sure seem cozy considering he's married. I don't know if she is or not. We'll find out tonight if she's going to make it to the final three or not.

KelleeM: Happiest of birthdays to you! My bestie had the day off today so we took off on a road trip. We stopped at a hiking trail and walked about 8 km through the bush, then we stopped at an awesome restaurant for lunch. I had chicken, green apple, spinach, Brie and balsamic drizzle folded in a warm Naan wrap with sweet potatoes on the side. It was absolutely delicious! Then we went to the beach and walked for a bit on the sand looking at the ice and snow banks still on the water. We also climbed up on the lifeguard tower and sat contemplating life for a bit which was kinda cool. Stopped at a couple free little libraries and a craft store on the way home. It was a fun day. Supper was flatbread chicken pizza for me and Hamburger Helper for DH and Walker.
