Tesla is being investigated by Transport Canada for false claims of vehicle sales to take advantage of a government incentive program to buy an EV. Tesla submitted claims for way more cars than they could possibly have sold in one weekend. I would not be surprised if Tesla loses their licence to sell vehicles in Canada. Did I read something about this a couple of weeks ago, or is this a different/newer issue? ETA: here’s a short report I found: m.youtube.com/watch?v=e3uvlJ3esAI If this is proven to be true, the arrogance of Tesla is astounding to me. Here's another source, though not one I've vetted personally. The number of embedded ads makes me dubious about their journalistic integrity.

Tesla are pretty much dead in the water in Europe. Cybertrucks can’t legally be registered in most European countries due to not meeting safety standards. No one wants to buy a Tesla. We have enough other brands of EVs available anyway. In Germany, they are in serious legal trouble over employee issues - refusing to pay sick leave, sending HR reps to people’s homes to check on them when they call in sick, contacting doctors who wrote sick leave certificates to ask for details - all totally illegal here. If they aren’t in enough financial trouble as it is, the fines they could be levied will be massive.

This is the story I read yesterday and there was a similar one in the WSJ. As someone mentioned above, I think Trump will step in if it comes to that: Official car of the united states government

Tesla sales are down 35% for February in purple San Diego. I imagine it must be down more in areas that are more solid blue.

No wonder he has no qualms invading US citizens privacy.

Don’t worry, Trump will make Tesla the official car of the US and will keep it afloat. /s I wonder what percentage of owners, who bought the cars when Musk was cool, regret it now. I didn't buy mine because musk was cool, but rather it was an ev with tax incentives and the options I needed. I do wish that my car wasn't tied to him,

I just can't see owning a car that requires a subscription so I can use 100% of the features. Feels...ick to me.

The question is what to do about it? How many people are looking to buy a used Tesla right now? I bought my Tesla just before Musk went maga. Never a fan of Musk but bought my Tesla after my previous electric car was totaled in an accident. I love my Tesla but hate what it now represents. All of my Tesla driving friends are torn as to what to do. I'm planning to do some car shopping in the next week just to see what's out there. In the scheme of things - Teslas are very reasonably priced and the other electric cars I was considering were much more expensive. Taking a financial hit selling this car and then spending more on my next car is not something I'm particularly looking forward to. I live in the LA area so quite liberal and it seems every other person drives a Tesla. I don't personally know a conservative Tesla owner. I bought magnets to put on my car Resist (the bear one) May the forest be with you Love over hate Blue and yellow equality sign. I can't sell my car. I would take a loss and it does what I need it to do. The only subscription would be for the self driving part and I've never used that even when it was included in a trial Tesla already has my money.

I have seen people are popping of the T emblem and replacing it. Someone mentioned Audi (I think) makes a car with a similar body shape, so they are replacing it with an audi symbol. I have also seen people replace it with a Ukraine car symbol. I never got the appeal of Tesla myself (that specific brand) but if it works for others... ok. And like freecharlie said, Tesla already got her money. However, I wouldn't want someone to damage the car just bc I bought it way before EM went Nazi. I would replace the emblem and add magnets in hopes it would keep people from damaging my car. I have even seen bumper stickers that say "I bought before I knew..." or something to that effect.

We debated buying one a few years ago, but didn’t. My husband and I were talking the other day about how glad we are. We would have a really hard time driving around in one now, but it would also be a blow financially to sell it just because Musk is an idiot. Resale values have plummeted.

I was wondering if there's a way for Tesla owners to sue Musk, maybe in a class action suit, for completely devaluing their cars with his actions. It's awful for the innocent people who just thought they were buying an electric car - which would be almost all of them, I assume.
I do get a giggle out of imagining MAGAs trying to decide whether they want to support Musk by buying his car or continue their hate-crusade against EVs in general. Can't have it both ways.
Apropos of nothing, we used to hate seeing them roll up in the elementary carpool line, because in order for us to open the door from the outside, dad (it was always dad) had to navigate through a few screens and it took forever.

funny that everyone is saying no one is buying Teslas because there are new Teslas with paper plates everywhere around here. i think the drop in price and glut in inventory has encouraged many new buyers who don't care about the political new surrounding the brand. i'm just laughing at the rude awakening these owners have when they try to service their vehicle or try to charge it in public. simply there is not enough chargers available.

I've seen all sorts of things about Leon being a big cry baby, but this Reddit thing was new: Elon Musk Pressured Reddit CEO During Moderator Revolt Over Nazi-Style Salute: Report I bought magnets to put on my car Resist (the bear one) May the forest be with you Love over hate Blue and yellow equality sign. I'd be plastering mine to hopefully avoid damage. I have no idea if the video was real or not, but DH saw one about a dude ramming them with his 4 wheeler in Texas.

That’s a Dad issue 🙄🤣 - if I remember correctly the unlock button is always (or almost always) on the screen. I use it all the time.

So this isn't directed at you, but nobody has the right to destroy or deface someone's property. I don't care about political beliefs, one should not have to worry about their property being vandalized. With that said, teslas have automatic recording when people get to close. If someone chooses to vandalize my property, I'll have the evidence and the will to press charges. The magnets are just me saying I don't agree. I had stickers on my old car from trumps last term. I live in a red county and honestly the magnets are more likely to get noticed than my car

I agree. When I see someone driving a Tesla I feel bad for them. It’s not like they knew what was going to happen with Musk.
