Hi everyone! Happy Easter to those who celebrate! I decorate with bunny themed decor but that's as far as it goes! What are your Easter plans today? This is what I posted on Facebook ... something to wake you up if nothing else! OK, results from my doctor's appointment yesterday: - x-rays and ultrasound on my foot show nothing other than very early stages of arthritis ... not related to the pain I have ... it is a lot better these days ... it just hurts if I twist it the wrong way ... basically, time is the only cure. - bloodwork all came back normal! - yes, I do have a large hernia ... I had an "open" procedure for my gastric bypass back in 2006 which means I had an incision right down the middle of my belly ... well the internal incision has separated and my "innards" are poking through. . I am being referred to a general surgeon to take care of things ... I hope the wait isn't too long! I'm just hanging out this morning but my teacher friend is coming over this afternoon ... we'll have lunch together and sit and complain about teaching! He has more to complain about than me now! No plans tonight and dinner is rechauffe spaghetti with meat sauce ... We are supposed to get a big dump of snow tonight so I'm glad that there is no school tomorrow How are your parents doing Tearisci ? How are you feeling bc2ca ? How is your dh **GypsyGirl** ? What is the weather where you are? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

leannec, the hernia is just the pits. I had the same thing, a ventral(incisional hernia). So, what are you going to name your hernia? I hope that you can this take care of right away, but I know that you might have to wait. I'll be your hernia buddy. UGH. Glad that everything else was good. Have fun w/your friend. Being retired is good stuff. I have to clean off my desk. I was so busy w/taxes and other things that it looks like the aftermath of a Roadrunner Coyote cartoon. Then I need to practice and I'll be knitting. Dinner is rechauffe, tarragon chicken, air fryer smashed, roasted red potatoes and garlic green beans. Enjoy a relaxing, fun day.

I’ve got the same issue leannec from my hysterectomy repair. I’ve got sores on my stomach due to it. I hope you can get it repaired soon. My mom isn’t doing well and the dr came in to ask about DNRs. After he left she woke up for a bit and ate. My DS was supposed to come out in May but is thinking about coming out now. We were happy that she ate a little bit but it’s not a good scenario. Thanks for all of your good thoughts. We need them.

So, what are you going to name your hernia? I call it "The Triangle" because that is its shape over my belly button when I look down ... so attractive!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate. We decided against going to the Vigil Mass last night, as it didn't start until 9pm, which would have meant a quite late night for us, probably close to midnight. So we went in this morning for 10:30 instead, which was lovely. Still lots of people there, including a lot of people visiting. DS1 texted me during Mass to set up a phone call, so we did that from the car on the way home. We had two very hyped young ladies to talk to - Lucia kept telling us how she had '2 and 40 eggs! And they were chocolate! And did she mention 2 and 40 eggs!' DS said she'd fallen asleep around 5pm on the way home from an extended family party, so he didn't have much hope of her going to bed anytime soon (it was about 8pm their time). At least they have a public holiday tomorrow to recover. Lunch was simple - fresh bread, dips, antipasto bits, some smoked salmon and the hard boiled eggs my vacation program students made sure I brought home on Thursday! The weather here yesterday and today has been delightful - warm and sunny - but it's not meant to last all week, sadly. DH is preparing a slow roasted lamb leg for dinner, with all the proper roast meal sides - potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions and parsnips and gravy. The kitchen smells wonderful right now. I am sure he has also selected a nice red wine to go with it. Tearisci - I just read your post. I am so sorry to hear your mum is doing so poorly. I hope you can all make the right decisions for her care from here on in. ((((Hugs))))

Hi friends! Happy Sunday!
Sending everyone hugs and love. 🩷
DH and I took a drive out to Winchester, VA yesterday. We went to an antique store, book store, arcade (my pinball skills got me a high score around 18 million - I think DH was surprised by this because I have the worst eyes but can play a mean game of pinball), a Civil War museum, and lunch.
He traded in a few winning tickets at the casino and placed some bets for the NHL post season, and we went to a different antique place after.
Today's dinner will be orange chicken and egg rolls.
No shoulder pain yesterday, which was nice. A little this morning, but nowhere near as bad as it had been. I'll keep my Wednesday appointment to be safe.

leannec, you are a rank amateur. I have a lopsided triangle that veers to the right. You'll get used to it. You can't see it when dressed. If you're planning to streak down the center of town then you'll have an issue. So, it's all good. Well, the Bermuda triangle can get ready to go. I do not miss Bulgie! Tearisci, I'm very sorry to hear that things are going so poorly for your mom. (((((HUGS))).

I'm glad about your foot and your blood work leannec but I'm bummed you will need to have surgery.❤️ Tearisci I did not even want to like your post. But I did because I hear you. I feel for you too. This is not the way you wanted things to go. Big hugs. ❤️ Thank you all for the nice comments about my smoking milestone. I get that it's been a significant amount of time but I know I could go right back to it. That's discouraging. I'm sorry I didn't get back to the thread yesterday. I did open that bag of lettuce and it wasn't near as bad as I thought. So we did eat the salad. It was actually pretty good. The kids are all coming over today. I just boiled eggs for Kylon to color. We are having beer can chickens with roasted potatoes and asparagus. I just need to put the turtle topping on my cheesecake for dessert. And I did get out the candy molds yesterday and make candies. I've got 3.5 hours until they get here so I'm going to dry my hair and then crochet until they come.

rymeswithpurple , I'll play pinball w/you. How fun. Sounds like you had a fun day. Absolutely keep your appointment and get thee to the acpuncturist. jeremysgirl , Kylon will have so much w/the eggs. That will make for some cute photos. It really will get easier as you go. You've only been cigarette free for one year, after smoking for a long time. You are very strong and determined. You made a great choice for yourself and it will pay off.
sueg, you have such sweet granddaughters. Children view the world w/such excitement and hope. You are truly blessed.

DH and I have the turkey in the oven, potatoes peeled, turnip chopped and coleslaw is chilling. Then…my mom called and said she wasn’t coming for supper! What?? It was only going to be the 3 of us and we have a ton of food. Apparently she has some stomach issues and doesn’t want to be too far from home. So if anyone wants to come for supper, come on over!
DS and family were going to pop over “in a bit” for a quick visit. That was 2 hrs ago and we are still waiting…

scrapmaven We try to get our and do things at least one day every weekend. I'm going to dinner and a show on Friday with some friends (former coworker, a friend from college, and one of her friends), and then DH and I will get breakfast with the college friend and her friend before they leave Sunday and we go to a minor league team. Not sure what Saturday will bring, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone. 🥰

Happy Easter! Having a lazy morning and then we'll watch Easter services. Our church streams the weekly service which has been nice with DH ill the past year. Rain is due to move in later today and hang around for most of the upcoming week. This is going to be a good week to sew/quilt as well as get ready for the retreat that begins on Thursday. Started gathering supplies last night. Tearisci - I am so sorry to hear the news about your mother. She and your family will be in my prayers. (((hugs))) lucyg - If I can keep an artichoke plant alive, anyone should be able to! Mine was planted in the fall and just now has an artichoke, so you do need patience. Other than regular watering, I haven't done anything special other than covering the beds when we had a rare snowfall earlier this year. rymeswithpurple - We are going to have to start calling you The Pinball Wizard! scrapmaven - Enjoy an afternoon of knitting! Can't wait to see you post on the Craft thread! DD went out of town Friday but will be back later today, so we will have our meal late this afternoon. This year it is flank steak in a lemon vinaigrette, green beans almondine, mini croissants I will bake fresh and Crave cupcakes for dessert. DD is supposed to be bringing back a pie from the town she's been to as well.

I have one of those too, but they won’t fix it because it’s not interfering with anything. I was like, but it’s ugly and it sticks out. I’ve had no issues with it, but I might try again. My mom and I are going to my cousins in about an hour, have dinner, and great company. Not sure what’s on the menu. I’ll let you know when I get back.

When we were asked about the DNR for my dad, it was just heartbreaking. I’d really hope he was gonna get better. It was at that point that I knew it wasn’t going to be.

jeremysgirl one year is a very short time when it comes to quitting smoking so dont be down on yourself because you are still tempted. Stay strong and eventually the cravings will go away! Happy Easter to those who celebrate and also for those who are all about the bunny! We are going to Maggiano's for dinner. I just couldnt see myself cooking today so Im not! 😁

DD is here and we have various plans with family for the week. She especially wants to spend time with grandma while she’s here. Dinner tonight is with the gentleman friend and his kids. He said ham and green beans and I think pasta salad. We are bringing dessert, which we will pick up at a fancy grocery store on the way. Something Easter-y looking. Tearisci, I’m sorry your mom is doing so poorly. Hugs to you as you deal with all this. **GypsyGirl**, thank you for the artichoke growing advice. I totally need it.

DH and I just got back from a nice walk. He'll watch golf and I'll continue on my Iceland part of my scrapbook ~ it was all prepped for the crop so it's easy to finish. DS texted this morning that a co-worker was killed in a car accident. He wasn't close friends but is, of course, very sad from the news. Tearisci I'm so sorry about your mom. leannec I'm glad your bloodwork was good but sorry about the hernia. I think I'm going to grill some steaks for dinner.

I'm coming down from my steroid induced energy spurt yesterday, but still feeling good. Almost have the office organized and want to make a couple wedding cards for nieces for my sis to take home with her. She will be using the space for work while here so I'm on deadline to get them done.
DH prepped his lamb roast and pops last night and is off for a long bike ride. The roast will go on the rotisserie when he gets back and the lamb pops grilled for an appetizer. Potatoes, carrots and asparagus are prepped and ready for roasting, too.
Happy Easter to all celebrating today!

cadoodlebug, that's such tragic news about your ds's coworker. May his memory be for a blessing to all who knew him. Thanks scrapmaven. Yesterday, I found out that a dear friend who used to live across the street from my sister, passed away. He was 84 but seemed much younger. We've known him since DH and I were dating. He and his wife moved to Kauai about 10 years ago. His daughter was best friends with my niece. Both events remind us to live each day to the fullest because you never know...

Turkey supper was delicious and there is lots of rechauffe for tomorrow. Hopefully mom will be able to come over for supper tomorrow night.
DS and family did show up for a visit which was nice. Grandboy #2 plays his last home hockey game tomorrow night so we will probably go and watch that before supper. Baseball is starting as soon as he hangs up the hockey skates.
