I thought this was going to be Rachel's Thanksgiving Trifle (from Friends) It took a lot longer for someone to mention this than I thought it would!

Well- as an Aussie I find the mere mention of Miracle Whip or Cool whip to be 🤢 Probably the way most Americans find Vegemite 🤢 Definitely a “cultural “ food 🤣

I think you are correct camcas although we have or have had Miracle over here as I would occasionally buy a deli meat and salad sandwich for a colleague and she was quite insistent it was not to have Miracle on it! I didn't even know what it was at that point. For those who have forgotten what was in Rachel's Thanksgiving Trifle, it was a layer of ladyfingers, then jam, custard, raspberries, more ladyfingers, beef sauteed with peas and onions, more custard, bananas and whipped cream.

Oh really? My SIL makes one that is amazing. All veggies layered, definitely a layer of frozen sweet peas (so smaller sized) that thaw, and some hard boiled eggs & cheese. It's really good (at least I think so lol) Is there mayo and onions and shredded cheddar? I could puke just thinking about it. Ha ha yes - the dressing is mayo - but mayo, not miracle whip. And cheese just on the top, not as a full layer. Mostly layered veggies. But I get it - mayo isn't for everybody!

I’ve been Googling Seven Layer Salad and there’s nothing other than peas that I’d not serve in a salad myself. I’d have bowls with each item in and they would probably all end up together on the plate but, for some inexplicable reason, the look of those items layered in glass bowls is most off putting. I’ve been down the American Salads rabbit hole and, how can I say this without being rude? There’s some weird combinations out there. Oh, that isnt rude at all! We all acknowledge that some things that we call salads are very weird.
