Good Morning.
Tearisci, how is your mom doing today? How is your dad doing at your sister's house?
leannec, how are you feeling today? I hope that your cold is better.
Today, I have what will probably be my last Yoga class. Turns out that I'm not supposed to do most of the moves, due to my implanted device. It can mess w/the wires. So, I'll talk to the teacher and see if I can just do the breathing and meditation, maybe going once per week.
What are you up to today?
Dinner will likely be chicken picatta and rice pilaf w/broccoli.
What's on your menu?
What do you have planned for your week?
I have a fairly busy week, mostly in the am's. Wed. I ahve a much needed haircut and I cannot wait.
Wishing everyone an easy, happy week. For those who are suffering right now I wish you goodness and healing.

Bummer about the yoga scrapmaven! leannec I hope you're feeling better today. My mom had a rough evening last night. Lots of pain and she wasn't coherent at all. My sister went up this morning and said that Mom is happy but still having trouble finding the right words. She'll start off ok and then say some random word. I'll take my dad up this afternoon and spend time with her. Dad seems to be settling in ok at my sister's. We had dinner there last night and I think he's liking being around people. It just wasn't good for him to be alone so much. Hope you all have a great day!

I'm still feeling rough ... thanks for asking ladies! I work all this week so I need to take it easy today so that I feel better tomorrow! I hate colds ... so inconvenient! I am going to plant myself in front of the TV soon ... That is too bad about yoga scrapmaven ... you were really enjoying it! Thanks for the update on your parents Tearisci ... I like to know how they are doing! Dinner is up in the air ... something easy as I don't really feel like cooking ...

leannec, what happens when the sub needs to call in sick? That's something that has never occurred to me. I hope that you feel better as the day goes on. Tearisci, your dad is probably happier at your sister's house. He has company now.

I just cancel the job for that day ... no big deal but it is often difficult for the school to find another sub at the last minute ... I am subbing this week for an administrator so I am definitely going in!

Morning all (although it’s afternoon here!) scrapmaven I’m not good at meditation myself - my brain just wanders aimlessly, but I hope you can find something that will be similar to the yoga experience. leannec hope you are feeling better for the week ahead. I’ve only ever called in sick as a supply once. I woke with vertigo so there was absolutely no way I could even get out of bed and be a warm body to keep an eye on kids. Tearisci I hope your mom continues to improve. It’s so hard watching them in this state. I’m scrapping again on another wet and chilly day - wearing fleece pants and jacket lol DSO saw a FB ad from his favourite mom and pop diner with a special today on hot sandwiches and lobster rolls so I’m thinking we will probably head there. I don’t like soggy bread so I’ll suffer through a lobster roll lol. (YUM!) A piece of pie is included but I’m not a pastry fan so he might get 2 pieces if they don’t have anything to my liking. If you are in Canada I hope you are having a good holiday!

Gah, you should be able to find activities that bring you joy. Feel better leannec! Tearisci I'm sorry about your mom. I hope they can figure this out. Chloe just keeps referring to her new dog as a little princess. So it seems likely we will be calling her princess. Finn was Chloe's shadow so it was difficult to lose him. She kept stating over and over again how alone she felt without him. I know she feels alone as she is in an abusive relationship. But that is a worry for another day. Jeremy is getting closer on getting our garden ready to plant. My plants are needing to be transplanted. Seriously you should see how big my kale plants are. If nothing else, there will be kale for miles. I'm working but not really. There's nothing going on here. I am glad for the down time. I'm going to take Jeremy's daughter to a job interview this afternoon and then we will hit up the farmer's market. Dinner tonight will be creamy white beans with an herby olive oil, roasted potatoes, and asparagus. For the carnivores there will be chicken.

Dh (and DS at his own house) are having leftovers from last night. Smoked Chuck roast, potato salad and baked beans.
I'm...going out to dinner with a friend. That NEVER happens!

It is called The Complete Salad Cookbook and very few of the salads are just lettuce based. Lots of different grains and beans.

Good evening all,
I’ve had a quiet day today. I called the radiology clinic to schedule my MRI that I need before I see my neurosurgeon just after I get back from Australia. I couldn’t get an appointment before I leave, so I’m scheduled for the day after I get back! After that, I wandered down to the supermarket and pharmacy for a few things. Since lunch I’ve been knitting a bit but my left thumb is hurting, so I’ve stopped, rubbed in some voltaren and put on a compression bandage. If it doesn’t improve I’ll see my doctor.
DH is out for dinner with a work group tonight, so I can eat what I want. I have a lovely fresh burrata from the market, so I’m going to have that over a rocket, basil and tomato salad. I think I’ve got some walnuts as well and a nice balsamic to top it all off!

These are the same people who would serve half of a canned pear on a lettuce leaf with Velveeta shredded on top.

Happy Monday everyone! I have been doing laundry all morning and packing for our trip to South Carolina to see our new granddaughter, my twin grandson's and my daughter, trying to get our flowers planted, yard munched but it won't stop raining. I am fixing Cincinnati chili and cheese coneys for dinner.

I bought it years ago, before my plant based adventures. I'll have to look for this one. A lot of times ATK cookbooks are in the bargain section at B&N.

These are the same people who would serve half of a canned pear on a lettuce leaf with Velveeta shredded on top. When we were in Italy last year, I ate so many caprese salads made with burrata. It was just so good I ordered it nearly every time I saw it in a menu. I’ll match your ‘this cheese is weird’ story. Every time I go back to Australia to visit, my sister arranges a meet up of all the ‘girl cousins’ on my dad’s side of the family (note - the youngest of us all is 44; most of us are late 50s - early 60s) Last time I was home was last Christmas and one cousin bought a lovely salad of rocket (arugula), figs and walnuts, then shredded a buratta over it. Another cousin had never seen it before but loved it. She later found it at the supermarket in her small town and bought some. Her DH took one look at it and told her he wasn’t eating ‘that snot cheese’!

I went to AquaFit this morning and DH are going to brunch at our favorite place in a little bit. My back is still healing. I realized I iced too long ~ that is why I was in so much pain yesterday for our walk as I had iced before hand. Now I am occasionally heating and doing my stretching exercises. I woke up with a very dull twinge ~ not quite a headache but it's irritating me. Dinner will be stuffed red bell peppers. jeremysgirl , this made me laugh! Ready to start harvesting.

It is quite windy here today, so windy it blew over my little pop up greenhouse I have my seedlings, and tomato plants in...what a mess I had too clean up!!! I am hoping all my zinnia seedlings survive the "trauma" Dinner tonight is sausage with sautéed peppers and onions, along with a cole slaw I am going to make, maybe a salad to go with.

Although it’s a holiday here today, not much going on. It’s a chilly but sunny day.
DH and I dropped into DS’s place with coffee for the grownups and donuts for the grandboys. We had a great visit and a nice catchup.
I’m about to head out on a walk with Walker. DH is walking in the treadmill since today is his workout day and the gym is closed for the holiday.
Supper will be leftover pulled pork and perogies. Not sure what DH will come up with to eat.

Turns out I will be doing Yoga, but a much lighter version focusing on the breathing and meditation. The teacher was upset that I stopped doing TM(Transcendtal Mediation) so long ago. I have threatened to start, again for years. Now it appears that I will be doing so. I'm glad that she talked me into staying and showed me thing things that I can do. Tearisci, how heartbreaking for all of you. ((((HUGS)))).

I'm so sorry tearisci!!
I got up super early and took dh to the airport.. he is heading north to do the final wrap up of the estate and to give his sister half the money. told me last night she doesn't like me.. lovely to hear after over 40 yrs of marriage. his sister is on a different planet.. so I'm not surprised.
went to low impact exercise class, then trader joes, then got a call from sister's helper.. though I'm sure I saw an order for a blood draw for my sister in mychart.. today when my sister arrived... they didn't have an order.. so I may of screwed up or the. mychart dropped it. I told her helper to take her out to lunch!! I can screw up with the best of them.
so dinner tonight is left over thai food and something from freezer. one goal this week is to get rid of stuff in freezer as much as possible. this afternoon, I'm starting work on organizing the slides (I have 1000's to straighten out). some of them --from father in law--I want to take to his friend for identification as they did a lot of climbing together.
at least it is a warm sunny day.

Update on **GypsyGirl**'s dh: Please send thoughts and prayers to **GypsyGirl** and her dh. He is in the neuro ICU unit and things aren't going well.
**GypsyGirl** has been so busy w/all of this and hasn't had time to post to the thread. Please send your thoughts and prayers. Either **GypsyGirl** or I will update when she is up to it. Sad stuff, my tribe.

I am so sorry to hear about **GypsyGirl**’s DH. Keeping you in my thoughts today and going forward. Also Tearisci’s mom. So hard to watch them fail. Hang in there, honey. scrapmaven, I’m glad you have the opportunity to stick with a lighter version of yoga. Enjoy your meditation, too. I had a great time on my getaway last week. Can’t remember if I’ve posted since I got back. But anyway, I haven’t been able to master the photo-posting process here, but I did post a new pic of the gentleman friend and me on my Facebook. If we aren’t friends and you’d like to be, PM me. Dinner tonight will be something with my package of chicken breasts. Unless I get lazy and go the cheese & crackers route instead.

Just wanted to pop in. I am good, just busy. Had a self pity party(sort of) with the whole DH cremains issue. I didn't go and went to friends' son graduation. Much better use of my time this weekend. After storms rolled through Saturday night and my sweet 2 yr old pup that has now decided to have storm anxiety and walked, straddled me and finally crawled under the covers during the boomers, I woke up Sunday morning with a pulled muscle. Yesterday was full of sharp intakes and some exclamations as I would forget and move a certain way. But I got meal prep done for the week and made it to my financial mtg at church. Today is just catch-up. Sent my mom an early bday gift of PJs and some groceries. WM has the absolute softest pajamas from a brand called JoySpun. We only have WM in my area and when I found these, I had to have them and knew my mom would love them. So that was a fun surprise for her. Ran to the library and grabbed 2 books on hold for me. How Not to Die my Michael Greger and PlantYou by I can't remember at the moment. It looks like I will most likely buy the HNTD book. So many things appear to be covered and I want to highlight and take notes. Headed home soon for a dinner of creamy beans with herby oil & crunchy stuff. With a side of baby broccoli. Tearisci I hate to read that you are at the hospital with your mom. I hope it all gets sorted out. Since I was missing over the weekend, I had missed **GypsyGirl** not posting. I really hate to see that her DH is in the hospital. Wishing her healing thoughts and hugs. leannec I saw you had a cold. Well, boo to colds. Especially summer colds. Why do they always seem worse? I'll pop in at home and read more to see what is going on in your lives. TTFN!

OK thanks, cadoodlebug. I will send it your way shortly. And I’ve decided to scrap cooking tonight (I’m busy hauling the 16yo around at the moment) so I’m going to stop at In-n-Out on my way home. Yay for a double animal style cheeseburger!
