A lot of our store signs are in 24 hour time. i’m fairly sure most medical practices also use it. The more I think of it, the more businesses I can think of that use it Typical for the US to be one of the few using the 12-hour clock as standard, along with not using metric. 😂 I'm surprised it's not more widely used in the US. I guess I just assumed that the military is so big and it seems like almost everyone there has friends or family in the military, most people would use the 24 hour format. It isn't really widely used here either, for everyday stuff, but it is used for transport, hospitals etc. Hospitals use it too. So I automatically think in both. 11:30 PM is always 2330 to me in my head, but I just say 11:30 out loud. Same. I see 21:45 and immediately know it's 9:45pm, but outloud I would say 9:45 or more likely, quarter to ten.

Our clocks/appliances are a mix of both times. I prefer 12 hour time as I don’t have to think about it.

All our digital clocks are 24 hour if available. I have a new microwave and range and neither has a 24 hour option. I'm American and we are all veterans so we all get it instantly. I'd assume medical would also use it. My SIL struggles when she visits and looks at the wrong clock.
I'm curious to know if the younger generation can read an analog clock. I've heard rumors it's become an issue. Nobody in my close family is under 30.

In my own experience I find emergency services such as fire, police and ambulance use 24 hour time. For me I find it easier when businesses are open 24 hours a day if they use 24 hour time. I’ve never really thought about it. But it would be more efficient across time zones. I agree. Sometimes it can get confusing when you are dealing with a business far away from your own time zone.

Digital., 12 hours for everything.
Except my classroom clock, which is analog.
My question is: how many people have a separate, independent clock hanging on their wall? I do not. I have so many clocks built into things, I don’t need one. Kitchen has microwave and oven.
Living room has my amazon spot.
Bedroom has my Hatch alarm clock.
I guess my bathroom doesn’t have a clock…I just ask Alexa when I want to know the time.

My husband deals with a business that is 14 hours ahead of us so we just find it easier for ourselves to think in 24 hour time for that one.

katybee I have three standalone analog clocks in my house. I actually like having a clock on the wall and I prefer analog.

My phone/watch and car clock are all set to a 24 hour clock. It used to drive my DH nuts. He no longer questions. But most people do ask why I set to that time. For me, it was a nice memory I have with my grandpa teaching me "military" time.
