Good Morning.
Dh and I are about to head home. We have a date planned. We're going to the lab to get blood draws. Woohoo! I have to have labs for this fatigue and dh has just the annual stuff. We are really boring.
Meanwhile, how is everyone doing?
naby64, how cool that you signed up for a Harvard online course. What will you be studying?
Tearisci, naby64 and **GypsyGirl**, you've been through way too much and I think about you 3 ladies daily and send prayers of comfort. Thank you for letting us share your struggles and your triumphs. We are truly a dinner family.
My wish for the tribe continues to be one of happiness and healing(for those in need). We're all worthy of happiness, laughter and love.

I'll be getting my annual blood draw at my physical on Friday so I feel your pain scrapmaven. Hope they can figure out the fatigue issue. Today is a pretty boring one for me all around. I need to pick up my grocery order and then I'll take Dad to see my Mom. My niece was there yesterday and said that mom was confused but happy. She should have an aide coming in every day this week for care. I guess the nurse was there yesterday but I didn't go down as I needed a day off. It's kind of nice to have things quiet for awhile. I still feel like we did the right thing of putting her under hospice care and I think the additional visits will be good for her. Hope you all have a great day! Dinner tonight will be the steak I didn't have last night.

Good Morning! scrapmaven that doesn't sound like an exciting date but a necessary one. naby64 do tell us what kind of course you will be taking. It's going to be a pretty uneventful day and I'm not complaining. I am going to the gym later then I think I will go to a local park to walk since it is so beautiful out! We are going to have a couple of nice days before the rain returns... YDGS has a baseball game tonight. My parents want to attend so I will go and get them. Thinking I will see if they want to come over before the game for BLT's.

What will you be studying And stormsts American Government: Constitutional Foundations. Because I want to know exactly what is going on now and how to discuss the goings on with others. And that is as political as I will get in this thread. Wish your date was to a more happier and festive place! I think I should have waited until next week to sign up. As I was looking over the course last night, I have a quiz already on the 15th. When I will be in MD on vacation. So I know now what I will be doing on the plane ride. cadoodlebug we've had 2 or 3 Toyotas and I agree 100% with that meme. DD is driving a 2008 Rav4 and absolutely loves it. But she needs to start thinking of passing her on to another someone that can love her. It's kind of nice to have things quiet for awhile. I still feel like we did the right thing of putting her under hospice care and I think the additional visits will be good for her I am glad you are having a bit of quiet right now. Truly embrace it as you can. I need to get all the final packing done tonight and don't want to have to cook. As takeaway meals start tomorrow, most likely tonight will be to finish off the chicken salad I picked up from Aldi on Sunday. Cranberry almond. It is so good. I ate it on a croissant last night and Sunday. As I am out of those, I will either do up a pretty salad plate or use a piece of sourdough for a sandwich. stormsts I love BLTs but I want really good summer tomatoes. I am not sure we are quite there yet.

Good evening all, DH was out early this morning, as he had a 7:45 flight to Hamburg. I heard him leave the bedroom and the next thing I knew it was after 7 am! I didn’t have anything major planned, so it wasn’t a problem. It was a lovely day today, warm and sunny, so I decided after breakfast that I would go into the city to look for a few things. It was really busy in there - tourist season is in full swing and it is a school break here as well. I didn’t find everything I needed, but had a lovely time wandering and looking anyway. In 4 weeks time, I will be on a plane somewhere between Munich and Dubai, on my way to Australia. I think I have everything I need to take with me - just need to finish some knitting for the girls. I also have a batch of medical tests before I leave - I got my mammogram appointment letter on Saturday, for when we are in Sardinia, so I’ve changed that to a few days before. Then just before I head to Australia I have my quarterly bloodwork and discussion with my GP.
Dinner tonight is going to be the leftover bean burger from yesterday, served with salad. I’m not going to bother with a bun, as I don’t need it.
Have a great day everyone. Big hugs to all going through tough times.

Happy Tuesday! Today I feel like I'm running around like the proverbial chicken with its head cut off! This afternoon I'm getting a mani/pedi. Then I have to finish up the slide show today to turn in tomorrow morning at the church, along with all the honorarium checks (which of course I still need to write along with a note for each one). More phone calls to make related to estate stuff. Even with being super prepared, I was not prepared for just how many phone calls would be required. Yesterday went to remove DH's Apple Watch from the T*Mobile plan and discovered that he was the main owner, although I am the one all the bills go to. So now I wait for a call from that department that they assure me will come in the next 72 hours. There are a few of those type of accounts that I'll get to when I get to them. Spent a little time at the storage unit and found one more box of memorabilia and photos to go through. Glad I made the effort because a specific photo I was looking for was in there! I also dropped off 10 big decorator pillows and took two of those small black Costco bins to corral more horses and 16 Barbie dolls! They were in 2 big underbed boxes and now they take up less space. One of those boxes came home and is living under my bed, holding things I want to unload at the next quilt guild garage sale. Most of the time I just offer my stuff for free though. Dinner tonight will be the leftover chicken & almond dish I made on Sunday night.

I love BLTs but I want really good summer tomatoes. I am not sure we are quite there yet. I know what you mean. Everything tastes better when it is in season and fresh. Tomatoes are not ripe here yet but I will have to make it work with one from the grocery store. My sides typically are what I can get fresh from the farmers market when I can.

Hi y'all! I've missed you.
Dinner this week is meatloaf and green bean casserole. DH is having a marathon of a dentist appointment today, so he wanted something soft-ish.
I've been trying to keep this on the downlow, but I'm too excited: DH has an interview next week for a new job. I'm just so proud of and excited for him. We would be relocating, but it's to an area we really like. So keep your fingers crossed and send good mojo for him -- the interview is on Monday morning. I did some creeping for him online and found out that one of the people he's interviewing with got their Master's at the school where he currently works.
Love to all of you!

I'm home today because there were no jobs available that appealed to me ... I refuse to teach in schools that are like what I left! I need to do a few things around the condo today because my cleaning person comes tomorrow morning! Yay! I have no plans to go out ... it will be a day of catching up on TV I have recorded and maybe a nap! Dinner might be fresh linguini with pesto and parmesan ... yum! * scrapmaven, I have discovered that drinking coffee in the morning has given me energy to actually do things! I stopped drinking it a few years ago because I prefer tea but I bought cream the other day and had coffee the past couple of days and Wow! I'm sure there is something more going on with you that your bloodwork will show ...

It seems like today the news from the peas is a happier tone than it previously has been. My dgs is graduating high school at the end of June but I cannot attend due to my knee replacement surgery next week. We are going shopping for a graduation gift tonight and then going out to dinner to celebrate. I've been busy trying to get everything together for my surgery. I have to purchase/rent my own ice therapy machine and walker AND have to bring this stuff with me on the day of surgery. Health care is very messed up in Ontario. It really bugs me that GreenShield will not cover the cost of the ice-machine, over $350.00 Why do I even bother with private health benefits? They charge me over $200/month. So dinner will be someplace where dgs chooses.

Donner here will be meatloaf, mashed potato and corn on the cobb. It is cold and rainy....I know we need the rain , however we have had so much, how much more do we need??? The long term forcercast is calling for more rain on the weekend, if it happens it will be the 13th weekend in a row😨😨
Good Vibes for your DH, rhymeswithpurple!!!!
quiltz...I guess the difference between Canada and the US is the hospital supplies those items to the patient...we are charged of course, however insurance covers them. The walker I think I used for maybe one day at home, ended up donating it. Enjoy your shopping and dinner out!!!

I'm home today because there were no jobs available that appealed to me ... I refuse to teach in schools that are like what I left! I hear you! I am VERY picky!! I also don’t accept early morning calls (I usually sleep til 8 lol). DD lost her voice last Friday (she was DJing the school dance a little too exuberantly Thursday) and she called early Friday morning and I said NOPE lol. Lots of things I’d do for her but no longer doing early mornings! I have a day booked Friday and that is probably my last day as school is finished next week. Dinner is undecided. It’s raining and cool so it will likely involve the oven. #Rhymeswithpurple good luck to your DH

I have a day booked Friday and that is probably my last day as school is finished next week. Our schools aren't done until the 26th but I don't expect to be working much during that week ... I actually like the early morning schools ... they get out at about 2:30 pm! The high schools start late and end late ... but the work is easy! I'm working for my daughter on Thursday ... it is her boyfriend's University Graduation day!

My local school is an early start and is dismissed at 2:05 which I love. I live 5 minutes away so I still have most of the afternoon to enjoy. My daughter’s school is a 40 minute drive so I have to get up really early to make that work lol

This morning I was driving from the grocery store to Costco. I take a shortcut through an expensive neighborhood with construction going on. The speed limit is 25 MPH which I adhere to religiously. This woman in a fancy Porsche comes flying up behind me and tailgates for a while. Finally she swings around me and nearly hits my bumper as she passes. I was pissed and honked my horn. There are lots of construction trucks on both sides of the street and one worker had to jump out of the way as she passed him. She was probably going 40 MPH. I get to the main cross street and laughed because I have caught up with her. We both head across that main street into Costco and both of us are going to get gas. I so wanted to follow her into her lane but she picked one that only had one pump available. I think she did it on purpose because there were several lanes that she could have pulled into without having to maneuver to the first pump. I really wanted to say something to her but you never know when someone has a handgun in their purse.

was off to aquafit this morning. enjoying a super foggy day.
daughter in law is having her thyroid surgery this morning.. so son is hanging with his in laws (always a tricky situation).. it is taking longer than they said.. so he is sitting and waiting.
I have to go to store later. and get busy around the house.
i think I am doing chicken stirfry this evening.
the news on the thread does sound better.. the news in LA sounds worse. we had an editorial from a reporter in LA, who, as the "riots" were happening, stumbled onto a family outside birthday party--maybe 300 ft from the action. there of course was nothing happening in LA that the locals couldn't have dealt with..
oh well.

karenlou & Neisey Thank you both! I'll keep y'all updated! cadoodlebug Instances like that are why I'm glad I have a dashcam. Granted, I got it *after* being in a hit and run, but figured it could always help someone else. DH and I were driving to where he works a few weeks ago, and we heard the sound of a crash and saw the aftermath as we drove by, but we weren't close enough where it cam could've caught it. I think you can see maybe a sliver of the impact if you look really closely, but nothing that would be helpful, and you'd have to zoom wayyyy in.

When I will be in MD on vacation. Where in Maryland? We lived there for a few years; but we liked living in Virginia better. Are you going to tour all the historical sites in DC? I was gonna make a dumb joke about "who" lives in D.C, but I'll refrain. American Government: Constitutional Foundations. Because I want to know exactly what is going on Good for you! I should do that, too. chicken with its head cut off! THANK YOU for *not* using an apostrophe with " its"....(one of my pet peeves, along with incorrect use of you're and your) Ugh----the PAPERWORK after our loved ones are gone is just......ugh! So happy you found that particular photo you've been looking for! I didn't understand your storage story re: Barbies and horses, but I guess you're donating them? I collect Barbies, and would LOVE to know which ones you have! So keep your fingers crossed and send good mojo for him Fingers crossed! Tearisci....So glad your Mom is getting hospice care. Hoping you can get your Dad to the senior center as you mentioned yesterday----my Dad was 91 and healthy, and thought he was 40. He used to say he didn't want to go to the senior center and be around "old people." He said it with a bit of irony/ humor---he was well aware he was 91. I think he worried that everyone would just talk about their health problems, when he had none. Ugh, he just missed his lifelong friends in D.C. and sometimes I wissssh that nstead of encouraging him to move closer to all of us, we should have gotten him the safely alarm / nightly text calls to check on him like we did later. In those horribly dark days and nights of the pandemic, it was so nice hearing him laugh and have great conversations when he Zoomed with his pals in DC....ESP. during quarantine/ Covid when he also couldn't see his grandchildren. Ugh, such sad memories. I have to have labs for this fatigue Sorry you've been feeling so icky lately, and hope you get better soon! I hope The Birdhouse Lady is okay---she sent me a very kind private message about my spinal isssues a month or two ago, and she was going on a trip. I've PM'd her just to say hi, but not heard back. Thinking of bc2ca. She recently said she's not online much, but if she ever sees this, I just wanted to say I'm thinking of ya. I'm not doing well lately---especially with all the RAIN---my poor joints and headaches !!! I am tryyying to be a patient patient while waiting to see the doc for the second nerve block. The first nerve block worked PERFECTLY! If the second one works, then insurance says you can have nerve ablations. I NEED some spinal nerves ablated----please!!!! So. many. things. going on in my spine, and my doc said he rarely sees a thoracic area as complicated as mine---oh goodie! It is now affecting not only both scapulae, but the pain is going into my ribs. I joked with doc that instead of waiting soooo long (he's in high demand!), that since DH has a garage full of tools, and since he's so talented with fixing / building things, and has and a soldering (sawdering ? ) tool, HE can go ahead and burn those nerves for me! No waiting !!!!! No hundred$ and hundred$ in co-pay$, etc.

I had labwork yesterday after my dr visit - I'm not sure what happened but I ended up bleeding through the bandage afterwards and my arm is bruised today. She ended up texting her brother (the homeowner) who is currently deployed and he called the water company - the outage was fixed within several hours. I've suggested that they set up a list of account numbers/phone numbers etc...for all of the utilities and have her added as an authorised person on all of the accounts. And then I turned to DH and said - we should probably do that also as I'm not on any of our utility accounts either. Went to the pool this afternoon - I really am enjoying swimming. It's a bit more busy in the afternoon but not bad - I'll switch back to mornings though once swim lessons end (no open swim during the two weeks of lessons) dinner tonight is ham sandwiches with potato salad and cantaloupe.
edited - scrappintoee - I hope you're able to get in soon and get some relief

Salisbury. It is where Navy recruiter son and wife live. We, as a family, went to DC many years ago for a few days and toured the Capital, saw all the sights, museums, etc. You could not catch me there this weekend for all the money in the world. Instead we will be in Ocean City at the Air Show. The Blue Angels will be there and DS has to work the show. I am already dreading the thought of the crowds that will be there. I have bad to pretty bad crowd anxiety so I am not sure what I was thinking when I agreed to go that weekend instead of the next weekend.

Dinner tonight for me will be tuna melts on real bread that is all sorts of delicious. It has black sesame seeds on the crust and the freshness is rather impressive. I buy it frozen but the taste and texture are an easy 10/10. It is smaller than our usual bread, but I can solve the size issue by having another piece. For 2 carbs a slice I can have a sandwich.
The Whoodle is getting groomed today and he was excited to be going there. I like having a day of daycare. He is so sweet.
It feels warmer than 20°C today but it’s very nice June weather.

My nephew is hoping to do his medical residency at Norfolk. Otherwise he wants DC but not San Diego because of the cost. His bil is stationed in Virginia after being in Hawaii.
I hope everyone gets answers from their labs.
Met my 2 bffs at a French/asian bakery. Everything was so sickening sweet. I felt ill after. Not going back.
Then dd & Juliet came over. She got vaccines yesterday and was inconsolable. She’s calmed down now.
Dinner is going to be a grilled chicken salad.

Dinner tonight is the last of Sunday's pizza after our dentist appoontments.
I challenged my coworker to let his 6 year old pack his lunch and she did not disappoint! 😂
-One Costco sized bottle of Frank's Red Hot -one bottle of Taco Bell Mild Taco sauce -a completely empty peanut butter jar (his fault for leaving it in the cupboard) -a can of Campbells Heart Healthy Chicken Noodle soup (no bowl or spoon) -a small gatorade zero -2 cheese sticks -one bottle of water (she started to pack a partially empty one, but he asked for a full one)
