Good Morning.
Dh and yds are going to a ballgame. I am not up to the game, but I decided not to pout. Ods is coming home and he might take me on a couple of errands. This has gone from ludicrous to ridiculous.
Yds is going out to dinner w/a friend who just had surgery. Dh will have garlic fries at the game and that will fill him up. So, ods will fend for himself.
What are you up to today?
What's on your menu?
How are my fabulous tribe members doing this morning?
May today be happy, easy and sweet for everyone.

Happy Thursday! Trying to stay cool in this oppressive heat. Cleaned my house, did laundry and going to pick a book to read. My husband is going after work today to tidy up his parents and my mom's graveside, decorate for July so he is getting us takeout from a local family owned business in the town that we love to support.

Dh and yds are going to a ballgame. I am not up to the game, but I decided not to pout. Ods is coming home and he might take me on a couple of errands. This has gone from ludicrous to ridiculous. Well I'm sorry about the ballgame. Are you sure the errands are going to be any less taxing? Could you send DS on a mission to do your errands for you? I think he would be willing. And then maybe the two of you can enjoy some time this afternoon at home when you are rested. I ate avocado toast for dinner last night. I had some ripe avocados and I had made a loaf of sourdough. Work is moving slow today. I need to take a shower on my lunch break. We still have not gotten the storms they keep promising will break our heat. It's miserable out there. I'm beginning to worry about my garden. Everything is growing, but not even close to the same pace as last year. I'm worried I might not even have any produce for another month and then it won't be nearly as plentiful as it could be. I did pick and dry all my dill last night. I need to get out there today and plant more seeds. I was hoping for a good cucumber crop that would make some delicious pickles with my dill. Tonight I will make those Dan Dan Noodles with tempeh. I'm sure Jeremy and his daughter will turn their noses up at it. I don't care. They can eat something else. I crocheted a bit yesterday but my darn finger is giving me fits. I'm hoping it's more cooperative today. I should put a bandaid on and see if that helps.

Happy Thursday! scrapmaven Enjoy your time with ODS! I've got a few meetings today but otherwise pretty slow. It won't be busy until the first of the month when we do reports. I found out that we might have a half or full day off on the 3rd so that would be nice. Dinner tonight - there is a new Indian restaurant that opened up down the street that has been getting good reviews so I may take myself to dinner there, No one else in my family likes Indian so I'm on my own. Hope you all have a great day!

hutchfan enjoy your book and relax. jeremysgirl , I can give ods a list and he'll run any errands that I need. He's always been my sidekick and willing to do any shopping that I have. Even as a baby he was very happy going through the grocery store w/me or to the mall. He likes to be out doing stuff. Put on that band aid so that you can use that hand. I hope it continues to heal.
Tearisci, dh will have dinner w/you. He loves Indian food. I have everything crossed that you get 7/3 off.

I've got a few meetings today but otherwise pretty slow. It's funny how meetings make the day go faster. I'm going to share something that you guys have got to promise to keep secret...here goes...accounting is not the most exciting profession. I get caught up in spreadsheets and reconciliations and it's just very...put this number here and that number there and voila! The spreadsheet calculates exactly what it is you need to know. Enter it in the accounting program and bam! done. So I tend to work very quickly and with good accuracy and I took a step back into this job so I'm a bit bored.

I even used to do ten key by touch. Ya. that made me feel like superwoman. LOL.

Good morning! Taking a brief heads up for air and then back to get the newsletter finished. THEN start on financials. They may be tomorrow's game. On the homefront, my toilet is being delivered and installed on Wednesday. So that's that. Now, I have discovered my outside fridge/freezer is not freezing. And the fridge doesn't seem as cool. Not completely unexpected as it is pretty close to being 20 yrs old. But dang right now? So I am looking at a no frills fridge as my overflow of drinks, bread, etc. OR I can learn to pare down what I have and use in the Big fridge and do what most people do and only have 1 fridge. I do love the other though for drinks, leftovers stash, that 1 bottle of wine that needs to stay cole, sauces, holiday time.
Dinner tonight will be tofu something. I have a boatload of tofu and I need to start using up some containers. I plan on making some tofu feta due to some meals needing it next week. But I am thinking Orange chick-un with rice and edamame.
Hate to post and run but my week is getting away.

This year, the speaker evaluations are lumped together instead of separate scores for each speaker on a session. It's so much fun figuring out Excel stuff. I also recently did a clean up of a 16,000+ row spreadsheet for my supervisor and it drove me batty that I couldn't figure out where the single $100 discrepancy was. And then there are my coworkers who like to joke with me that they're lucky if they can get auto-sum to work properly when I have an on-going spreadsheet every year with 8,600 formulas and another one with 652. However, the one with 652 may be retiring if we can get our new system to work how we want it to.

I am headed out to the fish market, so dinner will be salmon most likely....I am out of salad fixings except cucumber, so I need to stop at the market as well. I need to stop at Staples as well....so I may get everything done in one errand.
Nothing new on the homefront....The heat broke last night so I am happy, the fans/ac are all off and the windows are open with a nice breeze blowing through.

Good evening all,
It has just started to pour with rain here, which is a welcome relief from the heat we’ve been having. The only downside is that today was meant to be our afterschool care Sommerfest, but the organising parents decided yesterday to cancel based on the weather forecast - it turned out to be a good call, but it means I won’t see my kiddos again this school year. I am particularly sad to miss a group of girls, who have been such fun to work with.
This morning I had a nail salon appointment for both a manicure and pedicure. With us heading to the beach on Saturday, I wanted my feet looking good too! I had planned to check out another of the fabric stores, which is a bit further away after that, but realised I would once again end up coming home late afternoon, so I just came home. I’ve been knitting for most of the afternoon - gotta get Sophia’s sweater done! Also had a quick chat with DS1 - we said some time ago that we’d pay for Lucia starting dance lessons as her birthday present, so he was checking we were still OK with that. Baby is still where it should be - less than two weeks now until Oma is there, so just need it to be patient a bit longer!
Dinner tonight is simple spaghetti bolognese. I planned it before the party was cancelled, in case I was late home, but it still works and I’ll have lunch for tomorrow. Tomorrow I have my last pre-vacation task - hairdresser at 10am. They have moved to a new location, so I am going to head out a bit early to make sure I find it. I can always get a coffee if I’m too early.
Have a great day everyone.

Hahaha...I can usually handle any spreadsheet, but honest to goodness, a lady sent me one yesterday that I just could not figure out. Those are always a BLAST. I redid our consultant database for work. The one they'd been using was a nightmare. I really hope they're using the new one, but part of me thinks they're not. I also had an expense report someone did in Excel and there were just all sorts of unnecessary colors and formatting and it made my brain hurt. I understand doing something like every other row a different color or each iteration of a cost category as a different color, but there's no need to have 6 different colors for something that only has 6 lines to begin with.

Happy Thursday dinner friends! scrapmaven Enjoy the time with your son, I'm sorry that you're not up to the ballgame. naby64 the simple pleasure of a new toilet, A couple of weeks ago, our downstairs toilet was spraying out the top of the thing-a-magig that refills the water, it was spraying into the lid and running onto the floor, of course DH had just left for the ranch so I spent the weekend running to one of the upstairs bathrooms. He was able to fix it is fine now, but I've heard one of the guest bath's toilet refill a couple of times when it hasn't been used, so attention to toilet is back onto the honey do list. To the spreadsheet ladies, Excel can be so fickle! I'm decent with spreadsheets, but am so glad I have an assistant for the more advanced tasks that I don't do often enough to stay speedy at them. I'm in a slow period right now too, but renewal season is already gearing up. jeremysgirl I'm glad your finger is better, I was going to suggest the neosporin with pain numbing and a band aid. sueg I'm glad to hear baby is hanging tight. I bet you are all so anxious to meet the new addition! I'm certainly excited for you and your family! DH is going to the ranch, but dragging his feet while he waits for FedEx. I have a break until my 3pm Conference call, I'd like to use this time to de-dogify the house. This evening we are meeting my niece and her family at the BBQ joint of her choice, 10 yr old GS is coming home with me until Saturday. He gets so bored at my house, he likes to be on the go or on a screen, I don't participate in either of those activities in my normal routine. But we will have a good time. I need to gather my sewing projects, some friends are gathering for a sewing weekend starting Wednesday evening. Wishing everyone a great Day ahead!!

When he told them the name of the Indian restsurant we had gone to, the scoffed and said that no Indian person would name a restaurant that and that is was probably owned by Bangladeshi people. (Just from the name- theybwere not familiar with the place). I did sone googling and lo and behold, the owners are Bangladeshi. 😂😂 We still love it - the service is amazing and the food is great, but we had to find an Indian owned restaurant that his coworkers approved of to try. We havent yet, but we will.

Good Afternoon! Boring work day. The day is dragging on. scrapmaven I see you asked the age of DGS. He is turning 7. The problem is he has 3 older brothers. Those boys have everything under the sun. I am looking for an experience. I'm trying to find some camp he isn't already signed up for. We still have the extreme heat here. Even I am a little tired of it and I LOVE summer and high temps. Dinner will be chicken salad. DH isn't thrilled.

It rained torrentially here yesterday. Right when I was picking up Luke. We were both soaked. The temp went right back up.
I ran to the Le Creuset outlet to look at sizes and stuff. Tomorrow my bff & I have tickets to the factory sale. Now I’m watching Benny Boy so dd can get a pedicure.
Stopping at the Italian grocery on the way home. I’ll get something to grill from their butcher.

Good morning, almost afternoon! I was up at 6, Chiropractor at 8, Walmart at 8:45, Ross stores at 9:15 (where I bought a spinner carry-on that I now realize is a bit too tall), haircut at 10 (a pixie cut!) and Costco at 10:45. Whew! Dinner might be Sloppy Joe's. This made me laugh ~ jeremysgirl .

We had a short thunderstorm this morning and now the heat and humidity has returned. Our central air had a break yesterday as it was nice and cool but not today.
Grandboy #1 won the Student of the Year Award for his grade 7 class. It was presented today at the last day of school assembly. It was a surprise for him but the school let DDIL know so family could be there. DDIL, her parents and I attended and he was shocked to see us! I got teary when the award was presented. He is so deserving and I’m so proud of him.
There are 6 showings of DS’s house today. There was one last night and they made an offer but DS didn’t accept it. The offer sounded good to me but I’m out of the real estate loop so what do I know! I hope with all the interest, they get an offer that works for them.
I am a huge fan of Pepsi Zero and love the Lime flavoured one. Yesterday I tried the new Zesty Citrus flavour and it was terrible! It tasted awful and it was blue. Pepsi should not be blue!
Supper will be grilled chicken breasts, AF baked potatoes, grilled asparagus and dill pickle flavoured Cole slaw.

I don't know what's for dinner tonight, it's only noon o'clock.
Last night my neighbor Rosie and I split a No. 3 Son plate and the 2 of us left enough for a 3rd person.
A number 3 son plate costs $21.21 and is ment for a single person. First there is Tea, then Won-ton soup or Egg Flower soup. Next Barbeque pork, egg rolls and fried prawns, Then almond fried chicken, sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein and Barbeque pork fried rice.
The hardest part is finding parking spot between 4 and 8pm.

My dad is convinced that he'll find it somewhere and I had to tell him he's not in Tacoma anymore.

Well, I'm bummed at the new Indian restaurant. I had butter chicken and it wasn't very creamy and the chicken had a weird texture.
I miss the place that closed that I used to get takeout from.
Garlic naan was very good, but that's not that hard to do.
Bummed.

I had another night of crappy sleep ... big surprise. I went to get gas in the Jeep and then grocery shopping ... Rewarded myself with an Egg McMuffin combo! I spent some time catching up on episodes of Below Deck ... Now my mum is here for dinner ... we are having pasta of some sort ... it's up to her!

I finally figured out dinner. I'll have a burrito, half on myplate and the other half boxed to go.
These are big burritos especially because they throw a bunch of chips and a bucket of refried beans at me before the meal.

I just had to share. I planned on making orange chick-un tonight. But I found my honey garlic recipe first. So, like a good cook would do, I just combined the juice with the OG recipe. Roasted some baby broccoli and washed up a pepper DD grabbed at the Farmer's Market. It's called a witch's finger pepper. I've never heard of that before. And considering how badly I've slept this week and then seeing how the new moon on the 25th was affecting witches, the pepper could be apropos. 😅
