Is Hillary trying to get run out of the Democratic Party? “One of President Donald Trump’s fiercest rivals admitted Friday that he should get the Nobel Peace Prize if he pulled off an end to Russia’s war with Ukraine ahead of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, appearing on the "Raging Moderates" podcast, said she would nominate Trump for the award if he was successful in getting Putin to end his war and give back all the territory his forces took from Ukraine in the conflict. "You know, look, if we could pull that off, if President Trump were the architect of that, I'd nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize," she said during the interview.” I listened to that; I think that she is fairly sure that he won’t best Putin. If he did manage to pull it off, then he really should get it. But the odds are stacked against him-or anyone else-doing it.

I mean, despite all his talk and ragetweets Putin still keeps laughing in his face, its doubtful he can pull it off.

OMG. I say this all the time: I wish I could go back to the days when what our president is doing wasn't on my mind and heart every single damn day. I wish I could go back to the days when/if a president said or did outrageous things, I could say to myself, "thank goodness we have checks and balances." Those days are long gone. Yep. I would love to not have politics be one of my special interests. I could use that mental energy for much better things. But I feel these days that at least some of us need to be aware and bear witness to what is happening. Agreed, while I understand mental self preservation, I personally don’t have the privilege to be able to bury my head in the sand, unfortunately.

There is no way FF will fight for Ukraine to hold all their territory in this mess. Her statement is a long shot, a VERY long shot!!

Got the children returned and didn’t give away Alaskan mineral rights maybe. We know that he can’t convince him to give back land though so it’s a moot point. Ukraine shouldn’t give up anything. I don’t see how any discussion can take place without them being included.

Why indeed although doesn’t he have 2028 merchandise in his little “store” at the White House?

We don’t know what was said but I don’t think anyone thought it went well. Even Fox news said it didn't go well. The videos of Trump clapping as Putin approached him were creepy. And this video really showcases his awkward gait and swerving on the red carpet. It did cut off before he really started swerving, but you can see the start of it. Check out this video from this search, trump.red carpet alaska share.google/rmo6Rkr0pEeZeS5xp

Yes. 100%. And the fact that Republicans are opposed to making private schools accountable for what they do with public money tells you everything you need to know about their intentions. In addition to testing accountability rules designed to destroy public education, public school teachers in Texas are now prevented by law from calling a student anything other than their government name without permission. So if you name your child Matthew and he prefers to be called Matt, his teacher can't do that unless you sign a form. Private schools in Texas have no such restriction. Public schools in Texas are now required to have to have a large poster of the ten commandments in every classroom. Private schools have no such requirement. Public schools in Texas can no longer sponsor clubs for LGBTQ and allies, culture-based groups like AAPI, or anything the state perceives as "DEI." Religious clubs are, of course, protected under state law. Private schools have no such restrictions. And on and on. So yes, call their bluff - if they want the tax money, they need to follow all the same rules that the public schools do.

Were they found before or after the meeting ended?🤣🤣🤣 Does it matter? It's still sloppy. Obviously they were printed before the meeting and could have been found at any time.

According to this link the US and Russian delegations stayed in college dorm rooms and the Alaska Airlines Center. Kind of hard to leave documents on a public printer at a hotel no one stayed at.

I remember working in a public school and round about February, we would get an influx of kids who had been kicked out of their charter or private school. Yes, the charters do it too, at least here. And because their IEPs were rubbish, we would have to redo them. Usually these kids had some behavior issues. Every damn year.

Who said it was printed before the meeting started? I have a hard time believing someone would leave copies on a printer while they were picking them up off the printer. It could’ve been printed again after the meeting ended and by that time, big deal.

There is a massive amount of people involved in these kind of meetings outside of official delegations. If you really want to give the administration that has has a history of adding journalists to a signal chat (or indeed even having a signal chat in the first place) or adding randos to ICE enforcement chats, have at it. I’ll continue to find any defense of it hypocritical from the “but her emails!” (Which for the record i also thought to be an improper security lapse) party.

In all likelihood some people with access to this kind of information did stay at the Cook Hotel. This administration is extremely sloppy. Several news sources were saying how ill prepared this “event” was. Does anyone else know if the ride in the presidential limo is normal protocol? Seems extremely odd to me, but maybe that is the norm. I don’t recall previous Presidents meeting other world leaders in a limo. Seems like it is typically done in a room at a secured site.

Charter bounce-backs, sent back to us before state testing so the charter schools wouldn't have to include them in their test scores. Private schools, of course, don't have to administer the state tests, but they'll send 'em back for being too much trouble or having the wrong worldview or whatever.

People involved stay everywhere available for those meetings. Im curious about that too, it doesn’t seem like it would be standard protocol to have a foreign head of state in the presidential limousine to me either. But then this is the administration of accepting luxury planes from Qatar.

I attended a large inner city public high school that was so big it had an onsite daycare that many of the teen moms attending the school utilized. In my sophomore year, a girl I had known from the private elementary school both of us had previously attended showed up mid-year, obviously very pregnant. Apparently, the private Catholic high school she had been going to didn’t like the optics of a pregnant 10th grader, so she ended up in public school.

Kinznger on Noem.... It's "shocking" how much Kristi Noem has changed, according to a former Republican colleague Saturday. Noem has been criticized for what some have called a "MAGA makeover" in recent years. According to former Republican representative Adam Kinzinger, that's an understatement. In a video released by the ex-GOP congressman on Saturday, Kinzinger calls Noem's ICE agents Trump's personal law enforcement team. He then blasts Noem for her reported "weird living arrangement" in which she does not pay any rent.www.rawstory.com/180-degrees-different-ex-gop-lawmaker-skewers-old-colleague-noem-for-shocking-change/And why is Noem living rent free on a Coast Guard base..?? Now, Noem is, according to the Washington Post, drawing scrutiny for "living for free in a military home typically reserved for the U.S. Coast Guard's top admiral."In an article published on August 15, Post reporters Marianne LeVine, Liz Goodwin and Dan Lamothe explain, "The highly unusual arrangement has raised concern within the agency and from some Democrats, who describe it as a waste of military resources. Noem recently moved into Quarters 1, a spacious waterfront residence at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington where the Coast Guard commandant typically resides. She did so because of concerns over her safety after the Daily Mail, a British tabloid, published photographs in April of the area around Noem's residence in Washington’s Navy Yard neighborhood, DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said." Noem's "housing," according to the Post journalists, "has raised eyebrows among current and retired Coast Guard officials." And Democrats, they report, "warn that Noem risks creating the perception that she is exploiting the perks of her position as DHS secretary, in which she supervises the Coast Guard.""They say her decision could set off a chain reaction that could displace other senior members of the service in a situation with limited housing," according to LeVine, Goodwin and Lamothe. "Current and former Coast Guard members have also cited Noem's frequent use of a Coast Guard Gulfstream aircraft as a point of tension." www.rawstory.com/noem-2673889458/

Oklahoma State school superintendent had his wings clipped by a court yesterday... He also wanted Bibles in every classroom. He want teachers to teach the Bible as history .. Embattled Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters’ effort to quash dissent on his plans to enact Christian and pro-Trump content into state schools' curriculum was slapped down Friday by a Trump-appointed judge, MSNBC reported Friday.“Walters has pushed to convert Oklahoma’s public schools into hubs of right-wing religious indoctrination, through controversies such as his promotion of Bible-infused lesson plans and his attempt to require that schools show students a propaganda video of him praying for Donald Trump and attacking liberals,” wrote MSNBC reporter Ja’han Jones. In an effort to halt Walters’ religious transformation of Oklahoma schools, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the separation of church and state, sent letters to Oklahoma school districts warning of the potential impacts of the direction Walters was taking public education in the state. Walters promptly sued the organization, claiming it had “interfered” with his and other education officials’ ability to function, but was shut down Friday after U.S. District Court Judge John Heil issued a scathing ruling.“How do Defendant’s letters interfere with Plaintiffs’ authority or ability to administer Oklahoma’s public schools?” the ruling reads. “In what way are Plaintiffs precluded from administering Oklahoma’s public schools because of Defendant’s letters? The Complaint does not answer these questions… plaintiffs’ generalized statement of injury is nothing more than conjecture.” Walters has only continued to amass scrutiny, with law enforcement actively investigating the state superintendent for allegedly viewing pornography in his office during an executive session of the Oklahoma State Board of Education.www.rawstory.com/ryan-walters-2673890121/
