I just need to gush a little!! LOL
SO and I have been together 10 years on Sept. 4. He FINALLY proposed on my Birthday, July 3rd. It was never a question of if we'd get married, it was always just when, and I didn't push the subject because I wanted it to be him who came around to it. I know, that's old fashioned but it is what it is. He had a really BAD first marriage/divorce, and the trauma was very real.
Anyway, he got me a ring, took me to the riverfront (a special place for us) on the morning of my Birthday and got down on one knee, the whole she-bang.
I had NO idea it was coming!! I think that made it even more special.
Since September 4 is the 10th anniversary of our first date, our girls think that should be "the" day. So, that's the day. We aren't doing anything big, just a "come as you are" type get together with our kids, grandsons, and his family(I don't have any other family anymore). We have talked about doing a "reception" a little bit later for our friends to join us to celebrate which will likely be mid-October.
I ordered our wedding bands and they came today! I am giddy & just needed to share with someone!!
