I know nothing about soccer! What does a yellow card mean? I'm assuming it's like a warning? How many can a player get per game and then what happens??

A yellow card is a warning. A red card is an ejection (and that team cannot sub in a replacement, so they play a man down for the rest of the game). A second yellow card for the same player equals a red card.

Yes, it's a warning. If you get 2 yellows (equals a red card) in one game, you'll leave the game immediately. Which means the team will be down one man. Also, you won't be able to play in the next game. If you have one yellow card in this game, and the next game you get another yellow the same scenario applies. So, players with yellow cards have to be extra careful when playing as they do carry over to next game. If in the second game, they didn't get a yellow then the slate is wiped clean again.
Based on how severe the foul is, a red card can be given without any yellow card warning.

Heres my first world problem...I'm listening on the TuneIn Radio app, and it's about 20 seconds behind my ESPN SportsCenter app. So I knew what happened before it was on the radio. LOL

...and if you do something the ref didn't spot you can be sanctioned after the match. Ask Luis Suarez - four month ban and a fine.

Whew. Portugal is leading Ghana. We'll get through to the next round even if we lose this.

Not the best way to move on... But I'll take it! Especially considering that we were in the "group of death," and the conditions they had to play in today.
Looks like we'll play Belgium next... I think we can beat them!

Will be interesing to see if Liverpool sanction him as well. I also dislike how his manager and team mates are backing him to the hilt and blaming the British media!!

There's talk of him being sold to Barcelona. I think his actions have kicked everyone at Liverpool in the teeth. He needs professional help to control his actions. Sad really as he's such a brilliant player.

I can't believe Suarez is quibbling about it, animal It was so blatant and, in typical soccer fashion, he fell to the ground holding his teeth like Chiellini had shoulder-butted him. He's lucky he only got 9 games.

Whew to advancing! ⚽️
Suarez is disgusting. What grown human being does that? I read the article about how Liverpool tried an "intervention", including his wife in it, his tough childhood, and how much they support him.
Three times??? No, he has mental issues. There is no place for that in football (soccer). He should have been banned, period.

Why couldn't FIFA sanction him to a certain period of mental health evaluation and treatment? Make it conditional to his return. You can not tell me that a $110K fine will really hurt a player who makes as much money as Suarez does. Not that FIFA is known for doing the right thing...oy.
