My feet are a full size difference. I detest shoe shopping. A lady self described as a shoe guru said it couldn't be that bad. She took me shopping and washed her hands of me saying it was impossible. Unless I buy two shoe sizes I can only wear lace ups or slides. Nothing like flats, heels etc. Nordstrom will sell you one pair of shoes made up of two different sized shoes and not charge you extra. They will break up two pairs and give you the ones you need for just the price of one pair. It is one of the many things I love about Nordstrom. Get outta town! That's awesome!

I don't want to talk about bra sizes! LOL! They are worse than shoes! I think. Yeah I wear a size 6 (shoe!!!) pants that's another story but shoes are at least a normal size for someone my height. While wearing shoes are like wearing bras, a necessary evil, at least they have come a long way in the last 35 years. I used to have to get white (Granny style white and they were ugly with tons of hooks in the back and OMFG WIRE! I thought wire would KILL me.) It was my MOTHER who wanted to kill me because I didn't want a bra with wire as that was way too old for a 14 year old to deal with. (In Are You There God, It's Me Margaret? She didn't talk about having to wear a bra with wire. Why did I have to wear one? It wasn't in the rule book. And oh yeah bras in beige? You know that ugly colour of brown they come in (we are talking about SEXY mocha or anything like that...no we are talking about beige the ugliest colour known to mankind on a 14 year old girl. A 40-50 year old woman might have been perfectly happy with beige in those days. (It was a long time ago) but EFF if I was wearing beige when my friends with no boobs got to wear peach, coral, light blue with pretty lace, teal, aquamarine (and gosh darnit I could tell the difference between the two colours if you could only wear beige...) A-B cups got the beautiful, sexy Calvin Klein bras I got the old WonderBra and I don't know what else. The stuff old women wore. (At 14 and the only girl in school with boobs you know you stand out!) Now I can get sexy, pretty, in lots of colours, shapes, textures, lace, silk, whatever I want as long as I am willing to pay. The ones I got the other day are what I would say pretty darn nice. Besides the colour, they hit my breast bone and there is no boob spillage on top and under my arm. We are good and for $12.99 I can deal with that for right now. (Bikini collection? Yeah, I have a few. When I go hot tubbing very rarely but it does happen or the private beach we go to in Hawaii with no one around us, I am good in a bikini. I mean it's Hawaii right?

It is one of the many things I love about Nordstrom. Get outta town! That's awesome! I believe that's why they are called "Nordstrom" and everything that goes with it. I love that store. The moment I walk in to Nordstrom it's like another planet. I don't know which American came up with the formula for customer service there, but whatever he/she/they did it rocks the universe. They are the best ever, ever. Americans I have found are much more customer service oriented than we are. We are different and our needs are different. At Nordstrom I am a 5' queen. They make me feel like that. They make me aware that because you are here with me right now, you are my ONLY priority. (At least when I was fitted for shoes and bras and other clothing). We are getting one in Vancouver. I will make a point of taking the dreaded ferry and bus downtown to the store just to shop there. I hope they copy the US business model and adjust it for Canadianisms but make it the wonderful experience it is. (You are seeing my love for this store...I know it's obvious but I just wanted others to make sure). There is no difference in stores between Alamoana and Downtown Seattle. I can go to SouthCentre or The Mall in Scottsdale. Every Nordstrom experience I have had has been identical. We aren't talking "talking robots" we are talking kindness, politeness, ability to listen to customer needs, everything. Love this store!

My feet are tiny. I can sometimes wear kids size shoes depending on the shoe. I got some slip on tennis shoes exercise shoes, for PT and an upcoming trip. These are the shoes (but Champion brand)- mine are just dark gray with pink and aqua. These ShoesMy left is really tight. Especially on the top. The right foot is just perfect. I have high arches so I got some that weren't flat. The shoe person told me these would be great for what I was doing and good support. I think I just need to break them in, But I swear one foot is smaller than the other! I am terrible at shoe shopping. I had some similar that were the brown slip on I had forever because I do have such small feet. I also buy kids size socks (don't get me started on sock sizes! )- so they aren't down to my toes by the middle of the day ! So do you have trouble buying shoes or a shoe size that's hard to find? I also have to buy kids socks. I wear the "can't see" socks. If I don't get them, the heel is up around my ankle. I can also wear kids shoes depending on the shoe. I was told when I was young that one foot is always bigger than the other and to try on that shoe first.

I have a 7.5 and an 8.5 foot. That makes it fun. I generally buy shoes with no backs. mine are only 1/2 size different. I guess I should not complain! It generally just feels like my right shoe is looser.

suzastampin, I've never been able to get the no see socks to stay they are usually down around my toes too. I can do the short ankle socks, that's what I wear now. Usually a kids size 4-6 and then shrink them a bit in the wash.

In the meantime, I am fairly certain you can place a shoe order over the phone with them and get the 2-sized pair you need. They will ship them to you.

But you can try the shoes in person at your local department store, figure out which size you need for each foot and then go online and see if Nordies carries them, Nordstrom has a HUGE selection, so chances are good. I try try shoes on in person all the time and then go home and order online - it works well!

I amateur the other end.... Many 11'a are too tight.... And no shoes are 'cute' in my size . Many stores don't carry anything above a 10.... And then there are socks.... I have yet to find women's socks to fit.... I have given up and gone to the men's dept!

I feel your pain. I'm a size 5 (sometimes a 4.5, or children's), so they're hard to find. I also have a high arch. For me, I love high heels, platform shoes, etc., but buying sneakers is tough! I do buy kids socks now so that the heel part is actually on my heel and not halfway up my shin! Crazy! Now, if you're talkin' bras, I also have difficulty in that department too!! I'm a 34DD and it's impossible to find good supporting bras that are still cute. I could probably fit into a 32F, but that's even harder to find. Ugh. There should be an entire small people/petite (ACTUAL petite!!) store, where we could find well-fitting bras with straps that actually fit us, and pants that don't drag on the floor, and shoes that really fit. Sounds great, huh? www.barenecessities.com I've ordered lots of great bras from there.

I have yet to find women's socks to fit.... I have given up and gone to the men's dept! I'm right there with you. I need a 10.5 AA, which manufacturers don't make, so I shop for 11AA. Also very hard to find in that narrow size. I would LOVE nice women's socks that fit. I saw some recently in "extended size", which I thought meant would fit my feet. Nope, it just meant they fit wider calves. I just buy men's socks these days, but I'd love some in fun colors instead of brown and black.
I've had some success with The Walking Company, Nordstrom, and Long Tall Sally for larger size shoes (LTS carries shoes up to size 13, I think).

Yes, I wear a 6 and was told at the walking company they only keep one pair of size six in each style because there are not enough people buying, so basically if one other person buys the pair I want I'm out of luck. I couldn't even buy adult skates at the sports shop because they were too long. I had to buy kids skates. although due to my small foot size I was able to get an awesome pair of Riedelle skates for half price online, everyone was like "weren'tyou the girl with the kiddie skates?" My left is slightly bigger than my right but not a half size so I often have to break shoes in, this is whyI've grown to dislike getting new shoes and forget getting boots, my calves are too big for my small feet.
