Does it count if you worked in the prison system.....I'm retired DOJ......worked 28 years in the Federal prison system........now I teach yoga!!! Hey! Another retired BOP person here. Where did you work? I started at OXF, then RBK, then MCK, then back to OXF. I did 26 years, retired and am now working in the WI DOC, but I'm in the central office this time.

Sort of. A few years back I googled the name of some one I worked with at my first job out of college. She was a few years older than me, very nice, very professional. I liked her, but lost touch with her. Well, yeah, apparently she was serving time in federal prison for embezzlement.

Unfortunately too many to count. Immediate family, extended family, and friends. Everything from murder, prostitution, drugs, car theft... I could go on. I've also had family murdered due to gang activity. It's always interesting when I get called for jury duty and I have to state if I know anyone whose been a victim of or committed a certain crime. I always do.

My Bil went to Prison for 3 years (before he was my Bil.) he was delivering a package he had "no idea" was drugs for a hefty amount of money. ? he says he was the fall guy. (Whatever!) A lady I worked with went to Prison for a year for stealing cash from the department she worked in. My best girlfriend's Step dad went to Prison for molesting her and her sister for 9 years. He was also our youth pastor. Another gal I worked with is still in prison for stealing almost a million dollars cash from the bank deposits over a 9 year period . It was shocking! She was the nicest person you would ever want to know. Just proves you just never really know people. Another co-workers husband went to prison for 20 years for a white collar crime (he was already serving when she started working with us. He finally got out a couple of years ago and they are living a happy love filled life in their golden years.

My BIL is doing 100 years right now. This is after he served 14 years and got out and committed the same crime again. I am releaved he is in prison and my kids will never know him. Holy shit, 100 years!! . Is that multiple convictions and sentences, or just one heinous crime? Its multiple charges all from the same crime. He lived with a woman who had a teenage daughter. He held the teenager hostage for 3 days while the mother was out of town. He forced her to have sex/preform sex on him. He was charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment and sex offender violation. There were more charges but I can't remember them all. It was a tragic situation. He had done the same thing previously and went to prison 14 years. He will die in prison before he can ever get out.

About three years ago there was a major theft at the office. The office manager, the accounts payable manager and the payroll clerk were involved. They took about $300,000. The office manager was sentenced to jail, and the other two received hefty paybacks and community service. The office manager was five months away from age 65 and very close to retirement. What a way to end your career.

Unfortunately. One Sunday morning several years ago my DD's father (a/k/a my ex-husband) did not show up to pick her up for his Christmas visitation with DD. I had received several calls from an unknown number on my cell that morning but never picked up b/c I was still receiving lots of collection calls for him. I finally decided to answer after a couple of hours and it had been him all along, calling collect from jail. He had been picked up on an outstanding warrant and was not going to be able to see our DD that day - and he wanted me to let his family know where he was so someone could bail him out.

Breaks my heart that they have to live with those memories the rest of their lives. I'm sorry for the rest of your family also though. That has to be really hard on the offenders family also. Melanie
