I got up late this AM. I dressed in the dark so as not to wake DH. Drove to work in witches tit cold weather. Hurried to the door and slipped on some ice. Landed on my arse and lost my dignity in front of about 100 teenagers. While on said arse I noticed that the boots on my feet which were over my head at the time were two different colors. I may have started a new fashion trend.
I made myself a pot of French pressed coffee to calm my nerves. I pressed a bit too hard and my shirt now matches one of my boots. The brown one. The coffee wasn't strong enough to match the black one. I know this because the superintendent told me so when he just happened to walk into my office right about the time a few of the swear words were leaving my mouth. Good thing he has a sense of humor. (Or perhaps the maniacal cackle coming out of my mouth scared him a bit?)
After school I went home to change my boots and my shirt (and put Bengay on my now black...to match my one boot...and blue butt.) I then got in my car to go to my second job. As I backed out of the driveway I gently bumped into the front of DS's truck. Just a tap. So I put the car in forward to pull away from the truck and maneuver around it. Everything was fine except for the Very Loud creaky crash kind of noise coming from the back of my car. So I got out to look. It seems the gentle tap of my bumper against truck bumper managed to hook said bumpers together and when I pulled forward both bumpers were torn completely off of both vehicles. My language was saltier than the roads around here at that point.
I am am now going to crawl in bed, eat chocolate and drink beer and possibly not get Up until May!

Whoa, that IS a craptastic day! Mine wasn't anywhere near that bad, but I did have a disgusting fight with a refrigerator leak. So, I'll raise my beer and toast you - hope tomorrow is better!

I know it's wrong to laugh as someone else's misfortune, but I have to admit I did have a bit of a chuckle at your story!

Not that you need my permission, but you have it anyway. Get rip roaring drunk at this point. Your day has sucked "arse" as you would call it. Drink only GOOD beer. I did like Japanese beer Kirin Nama (draft) and I did like Kilkenny (but haven't had it in years). You also may want to do what we did as young adults and have first a beer course. The a cocktail course (this was made of Japanese gin called shochu, sparkling water and lime flavouring, then we hit the heavy stuff of straight shochu. By the end of the evening we staggered home. We all lived 10 feet from the bar so that was ok (we were also all single and 25-28 years old) so it didn't matter. Your butt hurts, the weather sucks. You wrecked your blouse. The car needs to be repaired now and may not be drivable. You may need some fortification. Chocolate also goes well with red wine. We had that for dinner one night. I provided the chocolate. My dad provided the wine. It was a very enjoyable evening! Sorry for the day though. That just sucks!

I would also eat something more substantial than just chocolate and beer, though. Why? Experience. Maybe some French bread or toast or anything with some calories.

Aww crap. I'm so sorry. If it's any help I had a horrible day also. I bought a bottle of wine (all gone now, as of 40 secs ago) and chocolate, had a short pity party, tears and all, read this, made me grin a little, love your writing style...and I felt so much better knowing it wasn't just me having a shitty time.

I'm sorry for all the bad things that happened, but I'm tickled by your delightful way of telling the story. I don't mean to chuckle at misfortune, but you made me do it. I hope the rest of your week is a piece of cake.

Wish I had read your post while I was drinking my glass of wine last night. I would have raised my glass in a toast to you for a better day today. But you're getting my morning cuppa raised instead. Hugs....
