Is this a known thing? I took it for the first time in over a year last night and woke up in bed with 2 cinnamon buns in bed with me. Maybe i was worried zombies would get them in the night or something? I am not sure. Yes 2 were in bed with me. Strange. (I also didn't have any in the house so must have had to bake some too....)

from what I've read, it's common, as is sleep driving! I know 3 people who've taken Ambien and they thought I was being overly dramatic when I warned them about POSSIBLE side effects like those! They scoffed and said Ambien helped them sleep soundly with no bad effects. br] (they all took it for a brief time...for example---2 of them took it only while traveling to Israel to help their sleep stay on schedule...maybe that made the difference?)
Hope you can get some restful sleep!

I've heard of it happening. That would scare the crap out of me.

I slept for a couple of hours until the dogs wanted outside. I did bake cinnamon buns and woke up with 2 in bed with me. How they got there I don't know. I am glad I didn't go driving. It was weird!

That's scary. I take Tylenol PM every night and it allows me to fall asleep without the whirling brain keeping me awake. I find cats in my bed in the morning but no food.

My 45 lb poodle was in bed with me...didn't want to move. She is happy enough to move when she wants to go outside but otherwise just sleeps and doesn't want to be woken up unless it into kiss you, then go back to sleep!

This happened to my friend. She would wake to find all kinds of evidence of night time eating she'd done. She stopped taking the Ambien because of it.

ambian has a well known list of "active sleeping" Cooking, eating, shopping, driving... you name it and people have done it while asleep on ambian.
I had a friend who's wife had to hide the car keys after he went to bed so he couldn't drive in his sleep but he still would take long walks in the middle of the night while under the influence of ambian.
If you are going to take it do it while someone else is around that can monitor your middle of the night behavior and stop you from essentially sleep walking.

I have never woken up beside 2 cinnamon buns before. At least I had the wherewithal to put them on a plate. But to bake them and eat some too. Winning! I will wait another 30 min or so and go to the gym.

I have taken Ambien for years. No sleep-eating, other than the time I woke up to find an empty Cheetos bag in bed with me and an orange mess all over my bedding! It looked like some kind of strange crime scene

my s/o would do that as well-I woke up a couple times to the smell of smoke-he had left a pan on the stove-it was terrifying and one of many reasons we both stopped taking it.
we both would sometimes call people and have no memory of the discussion. I used to take it when I traveled because I have a hard time sleeping in hotel rooms-I was terrified I would do something really crazy while taking it.

My daughter is about 4'11" and weighs about 120 pounds. She had been on ambien for about a year when she awoke one morning to find she had rearranged her entire bedroom. Dressers full of clothes were on the other side of the room, The bed was moved from one wall to a corner position and she had taken off the curtain rods from the windows and hung them diagonally above the bed. She lived alone at the time and has absolutely no knowledge of doing this or how she moved those dressers which were so heavy. Very creepy. She is no longer on Ambien.

That would scare the crap out of me. I would never take another sleep aid again.

I Ambien eat quite often. When I first started taking it my nephew was living here with us and I actually accused him of eating two candy bars. He denied it and then I had a very vague memory of eating both of them myself(and I am not a fan of candy!!).
Last week I was surprised to get a rather large box of scrapping goodies from Blitsy. I was even more surprised when I realized that I was the one that ordered it. I am now grounded from using my laptop after I take my night time pills!!

have you taken ambien for long? I took it for quite awhile before I stopped and it had to be done slowly. withdraw symptoms where not pleasant BUT when I did stop I felt so much better!!!
I did find myself eating in the middle of the night. Also was told that I had a very interesting conversation with my SIL one night. Don't remember at all lol.
So glad I stopped that stuff.

Yes, as Sabrina asked, I am curious as to what the condition of your kitchen was. Is it all messy or does it look like you were cooking in an orderly manner (unless you cook crazy all the time)??

These stories are hilariously frightening. I would never take that stuff... Too scary.
But, I'm so curious... If you are baking/walking/redecorating in your sleep, do you wake up rested? I don't understand how that works, I guess.

I made cookies once. Last night I got up and had some cheese, bread and cranapple juice then woke up with heart burn later.
If I take my ambien too early and don't go to sleep I will walk around making jokes or being goofy. If the girls are home they will tell me to go to bed. The other night I wanted my husband to make cookies and he didn't want to. He told me I had had my ambien and to just go to bed.
I have never driven or left the house.
There's been a time or two when I've been facebook messaging a friend and didn't remember doing it. I tend to be a little more "open" at those times so I try not to get on the computer after I've had my ambien.

I read that activities like these are more likely if you don't go right to bed when you take it.

I can't take ANY sleep aid or this kind of stuff happens to me.
I took Ambien years ago, got up to pee and could not get off the toilet. It was like I was cemented to it. So bizarre. That was the last time I took it!

My question is, did you clean up your mess? LOL. The kitchen was spotless when I got up. Dishwasher was empty and dishes all washed and put away. Yeah. Weird stuff. I do not need to be eating cinnamon buns at 2 or 3 am. I am going to the gym in a few minutes once I mentally prepare myself to go. It is taking every ounce of energy to get off the bed and do something productive. (I did fold more laundry does that count?)

I don't understand how that works, I guess. NO, I am freaking tired. I could use about 4 hours more sleep. I can't sleep with something to sleep and I can't sleep without. I am high energy and my brain doesn't shut off at 11 pm. Yoga, meditation, working out, no caffeine, no screen time after 10 pm, no eating after 7 pm unless it's at 2 am. etc. I just don't sleep. (I did once sleep a long time ago after a weekend at Fort Flaggler in 1986. Yeah I slept for 12 full hours. It's been a long time since I slept as well as my dogs sleep! I don't have sleep apnea. I don't have a sleep disorder. I just don't need a lot of sleep. I don't drink caffeinated drinks (I have decaf coffee about 4x week and at 7 am). I drink water and only water. I will keep trying to sleep.

I got rid of Paypal because stuff kept arriving at the house after midnight shopping. Nope no more paypal. I also don't buy scrapbook supplies. I have plenty and am good for the rest of my life!

I think I won't be having Ambient tomorrow night that's for sure. I am frustrated though. That part is painful! I am always tired. If my posts to people seem "short tempered" or kind of blunt I apologize. I think in short sentences due to lack of rest. I mean to make my point gentle and with flowing words and usually what comes across is very choppy and blunt. Again I am sorry .

I've been taking it for years, never really did anything crazy but I used to try to have ambien sex with DH a lot, lol. He didn't like it, felt too date-rapey to him. I don't do that any more, I just sleep like a baby.
If I woke up and found baked rolls on my bed I think I'd have to reevaluate taking it. I'd be too afraid I'd set the house on fire.

Yes, I have re-evaluated taking it and have decided NOT to take it again. It is just too weird to wake up with cinnamon buns in bed with me. I also ate most of them. Not too happy about that either but life goes on. I will just work extra hard at the gym today.

I am surprised people's MDs are keeping them on addictive drugs for years. When you can't sleep you do what you have to do. And ambien is actually a better choice than other sleeping meds out there. I've taken it off and on due to my health issues and luckily haven't had any strange issues.

Where are the rest of the cinnamon buns? Did you make a pan of them? It's fascinating that anyone can bake and then clean up all of that while asleep!
