It's not my thing at all, but my DH can't wait. He's a gadget guy and a watch guy, so this is right up his alley.
His birthday is also coming up, so I'm going to pitch in and make him happy!

I'm on the fence. I'm more thinking I'll wait for the iPhone 7 because you know there will be one. I may give the watch a year of being on the market and see what changes they make with it and get myself a new phone the next time the opportunity arises!

It seems very useful for medical devices. My husband will use it to program his hearing aids for various situations. I think the most expensive versions wills just be collector items.

I will probably order it. I wear a medical device that uses a separate receiver, but I THINK I will be able to receive the same data on the watch instead. It will be nice to have the data available on my wrist instead of digging around in my purse for it. Smartypants~don't you have an insulin pump and glucose monitor? My husband has the dexcom and he's thinking that the watch will be easier than his beeper. He just got his CGM a couple of months ago so it may be awhile before he gets another device. I'd love to hear if you've done research

I want to go and look at it. I can never hear my phone in my purse. My husband gets mad when I don't answer my phone. I have also missed some important text messages.

I don't wear a watch, but even if I did, I wouldn't get one. I have an iPhone, but NOT because it's an Apple product, but because it's easier to use and it has apps that you cannot get on an android. I had the option to buy android this past weekend, and almost did, but the app options, made me stay. How are you liking your new iPhone, KikiPea?

:laugh:It makes me think back to the comics a million years ago and I think it was Dick Tracy who had a phone wrist watch and how cool we all thought it was and wanted one. Now that it's here, I won't be getting one at this point in time.

I always have my phone, so there's no reason I would need the watch. I just wouldn't be able to justify spending that much money on it. I saw a quip on the gold one that is like $10K or whatever. And it said it is a steal compared to a Rolex, but in 25 years that Rolex will still tell you what time it is... I think this is really crazy. That's a lot of money to spend on a device (even the cheapest one) that will be obsolete in what? 3 years? 4 max? I wouldn't do it. It can't be *that* convenient. With the cost of the phone and the watch every couple of years it just seems like such a waste of cash.

I'd love to hear if you've done research I do. I wear a TSlim and a Dexcom. I just ordered the new Dexcom Share which uses bluetooth in some sort of way so you can view bg on an app on your iphone. I would assume (although I haven't confirmed yet) that this would then be viewable on the watch. I know lots of people that use the Android set up (Nightscout) and view on Pebble watches, so I'm hoping this is no different. It would be a huge convenience when I'm out on a long bike ride or run!

Have you all seen the commercial for it? I heard a gasp from the other room, and knew instantly that they'd sucked in my husband. Sure enough, after all the OMG,OMG,OMGs, he announces that he wants an iWatch for his birthday. DH hasn't worn a watch in the entire 33 years I've known him. So, I have him rewind the DVR to show me the commercial so I can inject some common sense into this discussion ... and damn. It is cool.
