I ordered the 21 day fix yesterday. I know we have talked about it on some other threads and was wondering if anyone wants to have a support group here? Any other programs are welcome as well. We can give each other support and tips.

I will do it with you! I have done the workouts but never for 21 days straight. If it's just the 2 of us, we could take it to Facebook messenger too if you want. When are you starting?

My order is supposed to be here by the 20th. I've been looking at websites and menu planning for the week. I won't have the specific info but am going to start with the diet plan this week, at least as well as I can.

Here's the gist of it... Eat more protein. Eat less carbs. Eat a lot of veggies and a little fruit. Don't eat any junky snacks.

Could I join you please? I've done 1 round of it, and will be starting again soon. I could do FB messenger as well.

*KAS*--thanks for the rundown. My biggest problem with eating is that I am on the road all day long. I have created some really bad eating habits since starting this job almost two years ago (and gaining almost 30lbs since then--yikes!). I know that you travel a lot as well. What do you do to prevent eating out all of the time and giving in to treats like cookies and such from the gas station? I eat in my car for at least one meal a day so no access to microwave or fridge. Welcome, luckywife! What were your results of round 1?

I was down about 5 pounds. I let life get in the way with my eating, and the 21 day fix workout hurt my back. I am going to try the piyo workouts instead, and my chiropractor gave me several modifications to help my back as well. I need to strengthen my core to help my back, but finding exercises to do that is challenging!
*KAS* would you be willing to share your meal plan you made with WW and 21 day fix? I can message you here or on FB if you would like.
*I have to go out of town for 2 days, so I might not be here much today or tomorrow, but I really could use some extra encouragement and accountability!

iamkristinl16 are you travelling for work out of town or driving your kids around all day? If you're local you can keep fruit and nuts on hand with you in the car. I read this book called The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged: Lasting Fat Loss That's Better than Ever! by Tosca Reno and she travels locally with a mini cooler wherever she goes so she can bring her own meals to work/meetings/events. You could pack a quinoa salad with beans. She has lots of recipes in her book.

lattermomof3--I just searched pinterest and found some good sites.
Annabella--I am on the road for work. I see people in their homes and go from place to place all day. I do have some snacks with me but am often too tempted by other treats when I stop to go to the bathroom. I also find it hard to keep food at the right temp even in a thermos or cooler. Especially if it has to last from breakfast until dinner on a long day.

Kristin -Yes, I do travel a lot. My issue isn't the junky stuff at the gas stations, but the "I only have 15 minutes so I'll run through a drive through" or drinking too much wine when I'm out with friends/coworkers, or not making good choices in restaurants, since all of my trips involve hotel stays.
What I will say - as boring as it sounds - the keys is just planning ahead. Whether that is pre-tracking my meals (either in WW which I'm doing now, or MFP, whose tracker I prefer), or cooking on Sundays for the week ahead, or packing my lunch the night before. If you're in the car, I think a cooler is going to be your best bet for that.
I DO understand the cookies/candies issue though. And unfortunately it's probably become more of a habit than anything! I'd say...if you're really ready to buckle down, you'll need to change your routine for a bit. Is there a fast food restaurant that doesn't tempt you at all? Is there a Target or Walmart on your stop, or a grocery store? It's more of an effort to go find snacks at Target or Walmart or a grocery store (usually the bathroom is up front) and stand in line and check out than it is in the gas station. For me, Starbucks is my go to bathroom stop when traveling. Now thankfully the drink I get there has 0 calories (iced tea) so even if it calls my name, it's not a calorie bomb. Their breakfast is good, but I can be sensible, and their cakes/cookie don't tempt me for some reason 99% of the time. If you love frappucino's or something like that, this may not be an option for you.
But for your cooler, I'd have bags of grapes or cuties, a sandwich, some hardboiled eggs, cheese sticks, maybe a yogurt and then pack yourself a little treat. Something like hershey's kisses (where you get several for decent calories) so that you don't feel deprived and then end up buying something 'bad.'

I am following WW now, so it's less restrictive than the 21 Day Fix meal plan. And honestly haven't been home much lately, so I have sucked at meal planning. I'm not sure the best way to share it (because I did it in Excel), but let me see if I can figure out something that makes sense. This was 21 day fix approved, but then I also tracked it just to see how it compared to WW, and it was exactly to my daily points. OK I tried to copy and paste and it didn't work. Let me see if I can figure out how to save an excel file as a picture so I can upload it here. I think it would make a lot more sense....

Ok....I think I attached it, but I can't see it. Posting to see what I did here. Haha Hopefully you can open that - I saved it as a .pdf. That was just a random week that I pulled. Basically at the top you will see that those are my 21 day fix containers. If you don't have the containers, the measurements per container are listed there. (and hopefully I can't get in trouble for posting that because *I* pulled that info from a BB coach's blog. Then I planned out 5 days of meals, basically rotating every other day. I wing it on weekends, depending on my schedule. Take a look at that, and see if it that helps at all, or if I can help you plan from there. You don't have to eat the same thing like I did. I just cook for 1 person, so meals last me a lot longer and I hate wasting food if I don't have to. Then I prepackage everything up, cook on Sundays, and I'm set for the work-week. I have access to a microwave, but if you don't I would just modify - do cold food at lunch and use a lunch cooler with a few cold packs. Attachments:Week of 1_5_15.pdf (201.7 KB)

You can pack a salad in your cooler, keep the salad dressing separate. Yogurt is also a good option. If you're going to people's homes, can you ask to use their microwave to heat up your lunch? Or search for lunch ideas that don't need to be heated. I saw one once.

I'm in the middle of one now. Planning your meals will be key to succeeding, but you can do it! The first week will probably be the hardest as you adjust to clean eating, but it gets much easier to pass up those junk food snacks. Bananas, almonds, carrots, salads, grapes, hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, low fat string cheese, cottage cheese, you can keep all those in a cooler--plus more and more convenience stores are stocking those things. Use your containers so you get a good feel for what a proper portion size is. You'll probably also need to re-train your brain that driving doesn't have to equal snacking, if that's a trigger for you (road trips always make me feel like I need snacks!). Good luck Yay for you for taking the first steps!

@*KAS* luckyexwife @lattermomof3 @z*G annabella and anyone else who wants to join! Do you guys want to move to messenger or stay here? I know it is only one day so far, but I did really well with my food choices yesterday. I brought all of my food with me and did not get anything from the gas station when I had to go to the bathroom. I like the idea of stopping at places that have no appeal. I have my favorite gas stations so will try to avoid them, but many of the towns I go to are very2 small and only have a few stations and McDonald's. Sometimes Subway or DQ. Another thing I need to factor in is the amount of time I have to eat. Yesterday I didn't have time to sit and eat my salad until 3:00. I ate all of my snacks before that and then just basically had my salad during a snack time. Normally I would go to a drive thru in that situation but I stayed strong and survived. Today I have to have food with me for lunch and dinner. I have leftovers for lunch and for dinner I have a salad with a tuna packet. How is everyone else doing?

I have been toying around with the idea of buying this. I think it's meant to be...it seems like every time I can't sleep in the middle of the night and turn on the tv, there is an infomercial on for this.
You all may have put me over the "I'm thinking about it hump." It would be nice to have the motivation of others doing it to keep me going. I do have a question though...what is facebook messenger? I have never used that.

That's fantastic, sounds like you had a great day! I'm re-starting my diet today. Not doing the 21-day fix but just counting calories.

Just T--I have been thinking about ordering it for a long time now as well. Last week I just decided to get it , and then that day talked to a coworker who is doing it. My package hasn't come yet so I am just starting with the food this week. I found the info on pinterest but obviously will read through the booklet and use the containers when I get them. Facebook messenger is an app that lets you message people via facebook.
Annabella--I hope you have a great day! I have been entering my food into MFP as well, even though I am following the guidelines set by 21 day fix. Yesterday I actually added a yogurt and some hershey kisses (better than a cookie at the gas station!) because when I was done with my 21 day fix portions I was only at 1000 calories. So, I ended up at about 1200.

I would like to, but I'll be away until the end of March. When are you starting? I probably won't be starting the workouts until later this week or this weekend, depending when my order gets here. I'm just trying to get a handle on my eating this week.
