Yes Robax is just a brand. There are others. Plus there is Rx strength and it is great. I have had good luck with it after gymnastics and dance injuries. (I don't dance any more because no one wants to see this big ass in tights....)

Did you manage to get to the walk in Sam? Hope you've found some relief by now. Let us know how you got on. I did go (was pretty impressed, actually, not having used one before - had to wait far less than I do at my GP with a scheduled appointment! ). They said it seems to be something I've done to the muscles near the top of my neck and that it was being made worse by my trying to get some comfort which was causing the muscles to spasm....I got told off for that Got a script for Naproxen (part of the ibuprofen 'group) and told to take that plus paracetamol. So, dosed up and moving as much as I can bear and it's actually starting to feel better than it did a couple of days ago so fingers crossed by next week I'll be pain free! Thanks everyone for the comments and advice (and thanks for the free consult, wenchie!!)

I'm so glad you went and it's nothing more serious, even though muscle spasms are among the worst pain I ever felt. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks - and yes, I have never felt pain like it (although I am very lucky, never a broken bone etc, which is good as I now know I don't have a great tolerance for 'real' pain!!) Thanks, gar!

Oh that sound better Sam, glad it's easing off for you. Darn well hurts when a muscle goes into a spasm so I have every sympathy.

I had the opposite experience than many of you. I had two herniated discs in my neck and was beyond miserable. I went to the doctor and physical therapy and got no relief. At that point I decided I didn't have much to lose and went to a chiropractor. I got relief with just a few visits. I still have the neck problem but it is controlled.
OP--I hope you get relief soon! I know how miserable it can be.
