I don't care what I look like in the photo. I'm not auditioning for Miss World.

I do. I feel like every time I get carded for something they comment on it because it's a pretty good pic. I don't want them commenting on a bad one! I thank people when they ask to card me!

LOL to me, the only thing worse than looking up is having your eyes closed. thank goodness i willed my eyes open until they turned dry. the looking up makes me look like I'm in a concert pit smiling up at Bruce Springsteen.

it happens, unfortunately!! My driver's license photo looks like a mug shot from someone who's in women's prison for a very hideous crime... I look awful-- and really EVIL-MAD-- in it! (I get comments about it sometimes, when I have to show it to a cashier).
...that's what they get when they make me wait at the DMV for 4 hours, lol!!
AZ licenses are good for something crazy, like 30 years, so I won't have to go in for a while, either... and I'm not paying for another one just for that. (I figure it doesn't hurt to have a picture that I can scare a cashier with, lol!)

Last time I went she let me see what the picture looked like and asked if it was OK. It was fine so I went with it. I am not sure what she would have done if I had said I wanted to take another one.
It is so easy now, I really think they could give people a little bit of a choice. Like one person said, take 3-4 and let you pick which one you want. If someone tried to get a reshoot, they are told know and the DMV person gets to pick the picture.

MY DL isn't that bad, but my Passport looks like I am one of those female serial killers that you see on those weird TV shows!

I have to show mine every time I go to a school, which is a couple of times a month. At one school, the security guard comments every time that my picture looks nothing like me. Today I got to tell him it expires in a week and the next time I give it to him it will look like me! I have lost 20 pounds and completely changed my hair - color, length and style - and I have different glasses. It really does not look like me anymore.
Sorry you were not happy with your picture!

What always makes me mad is that once in a while, you do actually get a good picture of yourself on your driver's license, but then it expires and you have to replace it! The next one is never as good, in my experience. I always have to laugh when I go for the picture. They say "Don't smile" and I guess that's because if you're ever pulled over, you're certainly not happy about it!

Years ago in my vain, younger, days, I got my license and I looked like a poster in the post office. I went back to the DMV and the woman behind the desk just sneered at me and said, " Oh, you want a glamour shot?" I bore the shame though and got a better picture taken.

I had ONE good drivers license pic in my whole life. I had to renew and get a new pic and then we moved and changed states and now I look like a complete crack addict.
It's awful..even DH says he would've stood me up on our first blind date if he saw that pic first.

So I got to the DMW 30 minutes before they opened this morning. There were about 40 people standing in line outside! I forgot today was the first day that dreamers could now legally get a drivers license in Nebraska. Hoping I can get it done next week.

I had to have a new photo taken for my DL in December. My old license had one of two photos that I've ever liked of myself, so I was very sad to see it go. When I got there, I observed that the camera was positioned a foot under my face, an angle guaranteed to give EVERYONE a double chin. Grrr.

I just don't wear blue, the color of the background. I don't want to look like a floating head. I was a floating head for 8 years. The first time I wore a white shirt and the background was white, so the next time I wore red. Guess what the new background color was!

In my current DL photo I have this big goofy smile. Not my usual barely a smile smile, but a stupid smile because I had just passed the test and received my M1 (motorcycle) license!

I hated having to get a new DL picture last time. I'm 12 years older! It's not too bad but I do have a deer in the headlights look. My passport photo on the other hand...yikes!! The wind was blowing about 50 mph that day. It's awful. I'm surprised they let me back in the country.

We are suppose to tuck our hair behind our ears, and have no facial expression for our photos. My picture is usually "catatonic Dumbo", or as my DH likes to call it, "a Volkswagen unsure of why both its doors are open". I have really big ears! We are always just floating heads. They fill as much of the box as they can with your head. When DS got his permit he said his picture was so close you could smell his breath in it! LOL

I have bangs. I did my hair, ready for pics. In Indiana your hair can't touch your eyebrows so they handed me bobby pins to move my hair. Then instructed me to put my chin down and no smiling. No danger there, my bobby pinned bangs looked awful, absolutely no smile here. The lighting also makes my foiled highlights look like a badddd bleach job with awful roots. Lovely.
