DH is in a small dept and 2 of those guys are overweight. One guy DH use to work with was soooo overweight he couldn't fit into the car and had to just use the SUV. He also broke many steering wheels getting in and out.
The lady cop a few towns over is short and about 115 IF that. She can handle herself though and no one messes with her.
Looks can be deceiving.

traceys I could be wrong but my first impression was that she didn't look like a law enforcement officer. She was shorter than me (I'm only 5'4") and she was overweight (like me) and looked out of shape. She looked like someone who could easily be over powered if someone wanted her weapon. You are probably right and she wasn't. But you should also see some of our long time officers...

Well...legal or not in your state Boy Scouts of America has a very clear policy that firearms are not allowed at scouting events except for rare circumstances. Here is the quote from the BSA guidelines:
Except for law enforcement officers required to carry firearms within their jurisdiction, firearms shall not be brought on camping, hiking, backpacking, or other Scouting activities except those specifically planned for target shooting under the supervision of a currently certified BSA national shooting sports director or National Rifle Association.

Small Update: I spoke to one of the leaders at the meeting and he noticed it also. He did note there wasn't a clip in the pistol, but he is having one of the other leaders look into it. The only way boy scouts would permit a gun at a function such as the blue and gold ceremony is if she was law enforcement. He was also concerned about the church's position since she brought the gun into their fellowship hall. I'll update again if I get any more info Just curious, if the gun was holstered, how would could he tell there was no magazine in the firearm?

Maybe she is a victim of domestic violence and carries it to feel safe if her ex tries to come sound. We just never know. This is a very, very good point. Yes, I would be uncomfortable. Unless it is a uniformed officer I am always uncomfortable seeing someone carry a weapon. Even when the gun is carried by a plain clothes officer who is on duty I am uncomfortable. It is an unrealistic reaction, but it is what it is.
