nesser01, I love your smash books! You've inspired me to start one. i've been journaling random thoughts for years in blank books, but I've never embellished my books. I think it would really be fun to do some more creative pages. Thank you! You should start one. It's a really fun addition to my normal scrapbooking.

I have some Smash stuff I "won" (everybody won something) but have yet to pull the trigger. I like the idea of it. I think I'll save it for when we go to Disney the next time to write down what happened when and keep track of memorabilia.

I used one for a travel journal, but ended up pulling the pages out and including them on 12x12s of the trip. I just want to go to one place for my memory keeping of my trip, if you know what I mean, rather than have some of the trip in a smash book and some in a scrapbook and some in PL. But it really was a very fun little companion to have on the trip and I have some great pages that I made on the road that I'll always treasure.

I have one Smashbook and it is just about me. The things I like, love, do and think. It goes all over the place chronologically which was VERY hard for me in the beginning. I just decided to let the timeline go and as I find things I put them in. When I lost my grandmother and mother I made pages for them. Then I found the house I lived in from birth to 8 on Google Street View and I put it in there, then I found some poems my mother wrote and I put those in. Just whatever appeals to me at the moment.

there are a lot of lists out there for smash book prompts. I have some on my pinterest board. I can post them later if anyone is interested. My favourite one was 100 things about me. There were some great examples of people who did those pages. So, I will start us a weekly? Monthly? Thread. We can share photos, ideas, etc. Scrappinton, those 100 sound like a great way to get us started! I will start the thread tomorrow.

I sent them a request a while back and they still haven't approved it. I did join their "sister" site "Scrappin Girls of SMASH*aholics" and asked on there if the SMASH*aholics were accepting new members. They said yes but they were doing a clean up of members at the moment and it might take a while to get approved. They have over 7,000 members, so yeah, it probably will! The sister group is nice, though. Real active, lots of sharing: facebook.com/groups/108478035982607Getting ready to post our weekly SMASH thread. Any suggestions on a name for us? When I get to proper computer I will post it. I hate using my tablet for anything that requires more than scrolling.

I took a class at CKC and received some smashbook supplies. Really couldn't pay much attention to the class since it was at the beginning of the disease process and ultimate diagnosis of RA/PA. Funny, but I wound up using the book as a sort of journal of that whole process-adding bits and pieces, scanning copies of reports and reducing them, capturing quotes from medical staff and people I met, pictures of various facilities, procedures, etc., song lyrics, you name. Much better than just writing in a notebook. More of a visual compilation of the time. Then it was a daily or 2-3 times entries, now more monthly or every other month as things have settled into a steadier, more stable but change lifestyle. I really don't share it with anyone, unless they ask and I feel like they would get. It's a personal thing. I doubt I would do it for any other type of scrapbooking, though.
The other thing that I think would be to use this for is a book of me-freestyle and fun-not so formal as regular scrapbook pages. Maybe that will be next on the list.

Katie, I'm starting an "all about me" book in August. I will share as I do it.
